Koal: A Daemon, a wicked creature from the Underworld. Silver: An ancient and cold aniel, a powerful child of the God, Prince Poison. Keela: A sickly mortal who lives on borrowed time.
Keela is whisked away by Silver, the deadly aniel, to the Wild Woods. There, she must find the Three Sisters, hoping they will lead her to the First Witch--the only one who can sever the mate bond between Keela and the evil Daemon who hunts her. No journey is simple in the Wild Woods, but even less so when it's taken alongside an ancient aniel like Silver. The farther into the wicked Woods they venture, the more Keela suspects that the secrets he keeps are far darker than she ever imagined. But in the Wild Woods, Silver should be the least of her worries. The Woods themselves set out traps and lures for her, desperate to destroy everything she thinks she knows and all the hidden desires deep inside her heart.
A dark fantasy mini-series set in Quinn Blackbird's GODS AND MONSTERS world. You do not have to read Gods and Monsters before reading Gods and Daemons. See inside for content warnings. Paperbacks available on the box-set page.
QUINN BLACKBIRD is a wanderer, a caffeine addict, a concern to her teachers & a bit of a dork. You can find Quinn buying gym equipment she never uses or being dragged out of the writing cave by pesky friends. Mention "margarita" and she'll come ah-runnin.
QB's goal is to live on a farm with rescue animals and write!
Now beware!! Blackbird writes about everything she loathes. This makes for books that are darker, grittier, anti-heroes, messed-up characters, and dark worlds. It's not a guarantee you'll find redemption in her pages. Because, as Gaslight Her warns, 'sometimes, the villains win.'

Not one of my favorites by QB but compelling enough to read it every spare moment between work and sleep and thinking about it while not reading it. Wanted to know what happened.
All the elements were there- gods, demons, mates, love and curses. I found the world building pretty cool. Having not finished gods and monsters, there were spoilers for that series in this one but it didn’t detract from this story but I likely don’t need to read the other now. Just a warning for those still interested.
Mini spoilers below:
I liked Keela and her quest to save herself despite her illness. There were a few funny moments when the demon and son of a god and the lone god, now that I think about it, actually got frustrated with her and her ineptness that they’d resist the urge to roll their eyes, physically pull her along or push her into the swamp cause she was taking too long or couldn’t catch a vial thrown at her. I liked this subtle humor in the story, in the midst of serious business.
I think it was the fact I didn’t like MMC, Silver, that took away from my rating. Koal, the evil daemon, with whom she was mated, was way more interesting and devious. Silver was kind of a cranky assh* who had absolutely no appeal. Without giving anything away, his behavior and choice at a critical moment pissed me off and really how did he sacrifice to save her in the end? He used others to get what he wanted and THEY made the sacrifice or did the dirty work, on his behalf. Maybe this is the way of gods. Koal, bringer of death and destruction, at least did his own killing and revenge was meted out by his own hand. He was smart- trying to figure out why he couldn’t feel her after he bit her (while she was hidden in the Wild wood) and never lied to her. I liked his viciousness.
The story finished and I didn’t feel like it was complete. It’s like there’s another series coming and the ending promises that the story isn’t over. I want her to have a showdown with Koal in another book and abandon Silver to think about his mistakes and maybe grovel a bit to get her to take him back or NOT. I think Koal might make a better and more interesting lover/companion. Silver is so BORING. I personally liked that she hadn’t completely forgiven Silver in the epilogue.
Absolutely loved this book! Keela and Silver finally arrives into the dangerous wild woods where old gods resides. They both need to survive the treacherous woods filled with secrets and wicked temptations. Silver's hot and cold personality is starting to get on my nerves. Keela tries her best to guard her heart but she can't help but care for him. He's such a emotionless jerk. He's still hiding so many secrets and with koal's truths, it's hard to trust him. Anyways, I can't wait to know how their journey continues in the next book.
Oh, I really liked this one. The action and intensity built up. For once, someone is going to fight the fated mate state and there might be a solution. Not really a fan of fated mates (there are some exceptions). I believe in free will and a lot of the fun of romances is the work that a relationship takes, even in dark romances. Fated mates, in most books, even when they try to fight it, you know that they are going to end up together. It just seems too easy and predictable. I know Quinn never makes her stories easy.
3 1/2 stars. The danger dial turned up in this installment of the series. Keela began her dangerous trip through the Wild Woods which lived up to its name even though Keela wasn't impressed as first. Wild Woods had the physical threats of terrifying monsters and psychological threats of the Woods themselves that brutally revealed the deepest secrets of the heart and mind. Even Keela's sleep offered no respite as Koal began his pursuit and a gave her glimpse of what waits for her.
Oh, Silver, what a typical male. Showed the least emotional vulnerability and he lashed out. If Keela wants to survive she will need to be tougher emotionally to deal with the emotionally immature but dangerous males who are the key to her future. Then there is Koal. He needs to rethink his courtship moves if he wishes to lure Keela back.
Good installment. Love that the danger was ratcheted up and got to learn a little bit more about Koal.

Among Aniels starts off from where it was left off in the first book. Keela gets into a huge trouble when she's discovered to be the fated mate of a cruel deamon who's determined to claim her. I honestly hate the entire soul mate thing and I had a delight in reading this anti soul-mate story. To break her fated mate bond, Keela seeks the help of Silver who may have the solution to her problem but everything comes at a price and she's willing to pay it.
This one was more action packed than the first book. The plot kept me hooked from the start till the end. I flew through the pages. I'm glad we have more Keela and Silver. I totally ship them! Silver is quite mysterious and intriguing. He helps Keela but he also seems to have some hidden agenda. I'm really not fan of Kaol who's violent and cruel. Keela knew that she wouldn't survive him. There're so many questions left unanswered. Keela and Silver sets on a dangerous journey and I can't wait to know what happens next.
A nice wrap up to this series. I was rooting for Silver and Keela and I'm satisfied with the ending. It is not a perfect ending but these are not perfect people and have hurt each other but they may be all the stronger together for it in the end. This world is not sugar and rainbows.
It was interesting to see more of the first gods and the primeval woods but I would like to know more about the Daemons. It seems they should be more than just evil, particularly if they have mates. True mates shouldn't be happy to torture their other half, but then I don't know enough about them. The path is open to a future series but it ends in a good place, with some darkness along the way.
Oh My Gods. Ever felt a bit iffy about the "fated mates" premise? This is proving to be just the tonic: an anti-fated mates story. Neither party is overly pleased, and still it's not in that creepy "two people forced together" narrative either. I. Am. Loving. It.
It's not about romance, but about action. Keela's met her Daemon mate, and let's just say being one of those is a very dubious honour. She needs to get out of this situation fast, and help comes from unexpected places.
There is so much simmering tension and unease. So much dark and dangerous fantasy mythology. So many unpredictable and strange events all leading deeper into the mysterious world of Gods and Daemons. How does it all fit into an episode like this? It had me on the edge of my seat! Definitely one for fans of dark fantasy drama.

This is the forth book in the series and so far, it's my favourite! We get so many discoveries and some mystery is solved... Yet there is still so much we have yet to find out. Keela, I felt, really comes into herself in this book. She's becoming a fierce character and standing up for herself. Although she's dying we get to see her determination and perseverance as she goes on with her journey. Silver has me in a twist, I want to love him yet he's so mysterious that I keep holding out hope that he'll take the right path by the end. I have my hopes for him and Keela and that they get a HEA. The writing is beautifully done, keeping us on the storyline as well as giving us some romance and history of the world. That ending had me wanting to throw my kindle... Oh you Quinn blackbird have a way with cliffhangers! I'm really loving how this story is developing and so excited to see where it goes from here!
Best one yet! I love it when villains get close to their endgame, so here we ARE! This one gets tense, guys. And the bad guys (so, all of them at this point) get badder (more bad? baddest?) Keela likes to tell herself that it's lust that pulls her into Silver's arms, and maybe that's part of it, but as I suspected, he's been manipulating her feelings all along! He's been using every opportunity to create artificial intimacy between them (oh, you can just drink my blood, let me carry that, sleep in the same tent, etc) for the SOLE purpose of drawing her in. This guy. So yeah, Koal is still a tool here, and really heavy handed. Seriously, he's like a soap villain with the "here's my plan, aren't I just so clever, muahhaha" but more fool me because he looks like he's going to get his way despite blabbing about it. Swear, I need some comeuppance for someone pretty soon because I CANNOT watch Keela get stepped on anymore. I am ready for this.
So many secrets. So many revelations. So much heartache. Urgh, this series just gets better and better. Not to mention weirder and creepier - you thoughts the beautiful Gods and dangerous Daemons were bad enough, just you wait until you meet the denizens of the Wild Woods. No prettifying mythology here.
Keela and Silver's relationship as they journey onwards is just so unknowable. It really kept me on my toes. You sort of know where it's going and then they pull the rug from under you. But you really can't predict where their path is taking them. I cannot wait for the next episode.

Silver and Keela's journey to find the three witches continues in this fourth installment. Well, this book wrecked me apart especially that ending. I should've seen that coming, but how could he do that!!! I was quite angry and frustrated. It was very much an intense read and definitely my favorite in the series. I flew through the pages. It's very much an addicting read filled with secrets, betrayal, love, and deceit. I can't reveal anything because I don't want to spoil things for you guys. I'm glad there's another book in this series because I actually thought this was the final installment and now I'm desperate for the finale.
So this is the fifth and final book in the Gods and Daemon series and...wow! I was excited to read this and i certainly was not disappointed. Silver has traded Keela to Koal so he can safely find Luna but Keela refuses to accept this is the end and will fight to get to The First Witch. Keela has grown so much since the first book and its brilliant to see how much stronger she has become. And Silver...well i love Silver and we see more sides to him in the final book. I liked the ending and i love that Keela got her HEA. Definitely worth the 5 stars
I love everything Quinn Blackbird puts a pen too, her dark stories keep me interested and wanting more each chapter, and this series is another great read, if I am honest the ending I felt was predictable, and i was hoping for more, but then again I was hoping koal had some redeeming qualities, as I found myself enjoying his part in the story more lol, It didn't stop me from giving a 5 star rating though....
Gods and Monsters worked so well bc everyone was a villain and Valissa dished it just as well as she took it. She fought back against everyone who wronged her.
Keela is weak in mind and spirit, and that was a pleasant change from Gods and Monsters, but she never got stronger. This book more so annoyed me more than anything. I was waiting for something to happen that would make her strong and take back her revenge but instead she’s just a weak, resigned, victim with Stockholm syndrome.
But I just don't know about Keela. She's right on the verge of tstl. I know her options are limited because of her condition, so she doesn't have much choice but to trust in people to help her. But I don't understand all the sobbing and heartbreak when she KNEW who Silver was. Like, knock boots and then get on with your life, girlfriend. Don't go having a devastating heartbreak. Don't be jealous of what's in the past. It was on the verge of being super annoying.
Silver, well that's great that he realizes he has oh so many feelings for Keela, but still what a dick. Even if you just judge him for what he does to Luna.
Kaol's only redeeming quality is that he tells the truth. I guess these character traits are why this is considered a "dark" romance.
And, just a side, some errors noted. Wrong words used, like you instead of your. Little things like that. But not so many that it was distracting.
Overall good, but I enjoyed the books with Poison and Valissa much better.

Among Aniels continues from where Among Gods finished. The Daemons have arrived and Keela has come to the attention of Silver, an Aniel. Keela's life is turned upside down but she decides to fight for the life that she wants for herself, even if it means making a deal with an Aniel. I was so happy to get this book as i really enjoyed the firs one in the series. Keela's character continues to grow, and how she fights for her life despite her illness. I love Silver and cant wait to find more about him and how his relationship with Keela develops. Plus the book leaves you intrigued in what Silver wants from Keela. As with book 1 you finish on a cliff hanger and i cant wait to get my hands on the next book in the series.
This second book starts where book one left off and it's a wild ride from there. With Keela discovering that she now is the mate of a daemon, she now has to fight for her life and her future. With the help of some characters who Keela didn't expect, she now has to find a way to give herself the future she wants. I loved the flow of the story and the sequence of scenes as we follow Keela. There's so many questions and unpredictability that you'll be trying to discover things for yourself while reading. The world building is beautiful and you really feel like you're there within the pages. I can't wait for the next installment!
Wow! Talk about some twists and turns! I started this journey with Among Gods (the first of this mini-series) and I was so happy to obtain an ARC of Among Aniels. I am continuously blown away by the characters, the world, and the plot. Keela is tested in more ways than one with the addition of daemons to the mix. I cannot wait to hear more about her adventure and more of the backstory of the gods. A must read mini-series!

Keela is balanced on a knife's edge. The familiar fears and the new ones. What to CHOOSE? Well, yet again, Silver is playing this close to the vest but Koal is FREAKING ME OUT. He's scary and he seems as mean as hell. This is not a lovey dovey "fated mates" situation. This guy is not pleased. NOT. It really doesn't seem fair that she gets one guy who is destined to be with her and he seems like a real jerk. But bad boys do get redeemed...right? RIGHT?
Keela frustrated me in this book. If I knew I was going to be taken to the Underworld by a daemon I would have ran away from home during the night! Why wait? She should have known there was nothing he could do against a daemon. I would have looked for help the night before. And got as far away from the daemon as possible. I am curious to see what happens in the next book. She didn't pack much.
This is the second book in a series. This story just keeps getting more interesting. I want to see where this journey takes Keela and what part foes Silver have to play in it. She gets someone interest that she wants the least. She has to run for her own safety. I can’t wait for the next book.
This is book 2 of the Gods and Daemons series. This is a really great series. I loved the characters and enjoyed the storyline. I’m really looking forward to the next book. I would recommend this series.

The story is improving. Silver is getting to be my favorite character. The father and sister are horrible people. Impatiently waiting to see what the story is behind her illness or if we will even be told.
Speed through these I loved them so much! Been a while since I’ve given 5 stars. I read several books a week like 7-10 and this was good! I cried along with this girl poor thing. Love these two.
Second intallment of the story, fast read which again didn't want it to end, so glad they are rapid releases as I can't wait to find out what happens next...
