Set in Brighton and France, The Normandy Run follows a father’s quest to find his son’s murderer and a desperate manhunt to prevent a terrorist from fulfilling a violent and deadly mission. Chad McCabe suspects foul play when his son drowns after falling from a private yacht. The police insist that it was an accident so he is forced to discover the truth for himself. To do so he must put his own life at risk and expose and confront the group of violent criminals who he believes are responsible for his son’s death. As McCabe investigates he uncovers an international network which routinely imports drugs and illegal immigrants by boat into the UK. The drugs are destined for distribution but the passengers are not the simple economic migrants that they pretend to be. They are killers.
Brett Hoskins has spent most of his life making music, messing about in different types of boats and travelling. All three are used as subjects for his writing. The Chad McCabe novels are fiction based on his own experience.
A mystery with enough physical detail that you can see the movie. The plot is solid. Sailboat enthusiasts will especially enjoy this book. I received this book as a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review.
Very fun afternoon read. Interesting characters set in England/France who get caught up in some international espionage, drug running and secrets. Main character is a dad who is just living his life and gets caught up in asking too many questions. Recommend. Was a Goodreads giveaway for me.
I received this book for free from the author/publisher in response for an honest review of the book. I have not had the opportunity to read this book at this time. I will add my review of this book once I have read the book. Thank k you for allowing me the optometrist review your work. I look forward to reading this book.
This sounded like a book I would be really interested in. I was happy when I won it from a goodreads giveaway! However, it took me awhile to get through. The story would be good for a movie- watching the action play out, but it wasn’t a strong read for me. Was disappointed with the rush to the end.
