I love this Love Inspired book that has a “Hallmark” like setting. My favorite books are those with the love of God sprinkled throughout! I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it! ♥️
I loved this story! Lois Richer has written a heartwarming Christmas story with very realistic characters and a great plot!
Sam is a world renown journalist that has returned home. Fired for filing a false report, and unable to defend his choices, Sam has come home to Sunshine, Montana to get his life together while waiting for his burner phone to ring. He arrives in a snowstorm, sees children shivering on the side of the road, and discovers that a tree has fallen on their house. He takes mother (Joy Grainger) and kids to his folks ranch. Joy is a widow with three children, is estranged from her parents, and is opening a bakery in Sunshine. Joy has trust issues, Sam is Mr. Dive-right -in and fix it, and Miss Partridge seems to be the very heart of the town. Please please write a story to help Miss Partridge find her love!!
I enjoyed this clean-love inspired, romance. This is another that I bought at a local store. I voluntarily chose to review this story and I've given it a 5* rating. These two meet in a snowstorm, when a tree has fallen on a house she is renting. It snowballs from there. Lots of twists and turns, throw in children and small town thinking and you get the hectic things happening. Another great Christmas time read.
I loved reading a Christmas story in June because it reminded me of the greatest gift of all. These books are extremely Christ centered. Even when the hardest hearts are turned to the glory of God.
The story line of this book it good but I just found it to be a very slow read and dry at times. The characters were great though and the secrets that slowly came out were interesting. I like the family aspect of this story.
This book's storyline was okay. I liked the Christian theme in this story. I liked Sam's character. I liked Joy's character. I loved ❤ the children. I liked the ending.
Will love turn home for Christmas into home for good? As Joy Grainger helps Sam Calhoun with the project, the last thing he expects is for her children to decide he should be their new dad.
I bought this book because, why wouldn’t I? The author has a great first name! Actually, I have several of her books. This is Book #3 in the Calhoun Cowboys Series. No, you don't need to read the first two before you read this one (buy why wouldn't you?). In this book, Sam Calhoun is a disgraced journalist and has returned home to Montana. He won’t talk about the story he lied about, at all. Joy Grainger is a widowed mom with three kids and is new to town.
A large tree fell on Joy’s house during a snowstorm. Sam was driving by and saw the kids huddled outside while their mom was getting things from inside the house. Turns out Sam owns this particular house. He packs Joy and the kids up and takes them to his family’s ranch while they decide what to do with the house.
Joy ends up renting Sam’s cabin at the ranch and he moves into the main house with his parents. Sam has secrets – some he doesn’t want to tell and one that he can’t tell. Joy is estranged from her parents and has just opened up her own bakery in town.
The town has financial trouble. Sam comes up with a great fundraising idea, leading up to Christmas. He gets put in charge of the fundraiser and Joy helps. A lot. Of course, the fundraiser is a great success. Joy finds out about the secrets Sam didn’t want to tell and eventually about the one he couldn’t tell.
This is a great [holiday] story that I encourage everyone to buy and read! Lois Richer does a wonderful job with the characters and the plot. It made me want to move to this little town in Montana! [P.S. Lois – will you give Miss Partridge her own story, or at least mention in a future book that she meets her man?]
