Setting out to teach an abusive husband a lesson, Danny Pinkerton quickly finds himself surrounded by a crime family that stretches back to Győr in Hungary.
Outgunned and outnumbered, Pinkerton turns to his closest friend, Ryan Kaine.
In a story that travels across Europe and pushes Kaine and Pinkerton to the very edge of survival, On The Hunt is a test of friendship and bond that neither man is prepared to fail.
Even if the outcome is fatal.
If you like Lee Child, Mark Dawson and Robert Ludlum, you’re going to find the Ryan Kaine series compulsively addictive.
#1 bestselling author with the US-based Lucky Shores romantic suspense series and the Ryan Kaine military action thrillers, and creator of the popular DCI Jones Casebook series of police procedurals, Kerry J Donovan was born in Dublin, before spending many formative years in West Wales.
Kerry earned a first-class honours degree in Human Biology and a PhD in Sport and Exercise Sciences. A former scientific advisor to The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, he helped UK emergency first-responders prepare for chemical and biological attacks in the wake of the 9/11 atrocities. This background adds a keen scientific edge to Kerry’s writing.
Kerry’s life experiences help him add an extra layer of realism to his stories and his characters. For example, readers will discover the water-borne adventures of his action hero, Ryan Kaine, a former member of the Royal Navy’s Special Boat Services, as authentic and exciting as a night-time dip in the Bay of Biscay.
As the owner of a “pristine” Honda NC750X, you’ll often find him touring the less well-known regions of Europe in search of interesting locations for his novels. A life-long sports enthusiast and open-water swimmer, the moment Kerry catches a glimpse of the ocean, it’s off with the bike leathers and on with his wetsuit.
A citizen of the world, Kerry recently returned from spending two decades living in the heart of rural Brittany and now lives with Margaret in a recently renovated bungalow in Nottinghamshire, UK.
When not writing, Kerry enjoys riding his motorbike, jogging, swimming, spending time with his four wonderful grandchildren, and travelling the world.

Ryan Kaine is a character I have got to know over these 8 books in the series, Kerry has created a great team of characters, Danny being one, Rollo another, and of course Lara.
This is well paced, exciting, fast paced story with some real shocks, Ryan Kaine's dry wit, so important to the stories and do make you smile.
Kerry you know how much I like Ryan Kaine, how I like my action thrillers and I enjoyed this, not as fast paced as some of the previous books but still very good.
A clear four star.
If you like Lee Child, Mark Dawson, Mark Greaney, Gregg Hurwitz, Robert Ludlum, you’re going to find the Ryan Kaine series compulsively addictive I recommend them.
Another fantastic book book 8 in the series was a bit sad that this was 5he last one but then I had good news that book 9 coming out on 21 July have set a reminder on my phone so I get it on the day
Well I figured it would happen sooner or later but oh my, talk about one of the best reads. This one has it all and I mean ALL! I've read many novels and I love to read anything military with action, suspense, romance and even love, but when you come across ones that pulls every single emotion including the tears, I thought I had it all while I read. This story though brings all of that and more. This is my first time for reading this Authors novels and finding he has a Series as well makes it all the better. Don't pass the chance of missing out on reading this series. Each story is outstanding and you will not be disappointed in any one of Kerry Donovan's novels!
I enjoyed this book , even though it was a little sad...... In this book Danny has tracked down the injured lady in the car from the previous book . Of course, things go to pieces, and some friends from the last get called in to help . This book wasn't as racist as part books, and I thoroughly enjoyed not reading those racist words and abominable behaviors. What a breath of spring air , this was !!! Lots of shoot ' em up bang \ bangs , and Kaine and company dealing with the bad guys was a spectacular read !!
Is this the last of the Ryan Kaine series? I feel like we just abandoned Melanie Archer from book 7 for some reason. Good character development and tense moments kept this story moving along, but I can’t help but feeling frustrated at the bickering back and forth between Ryan and Laura. “You’re not coming on this mission!” “Oh yes I am!” “It’s too dangerous!” “I’m part of this, and you can’t stop me!” “Well, OK then.” It just gets monotonous after 7 books.
Good thriller with a lead in involving a special forces soldier deciding to do the Good Samaritan role mistaking what he believed to be domestic violence but in fact was a kidnapping and hostage situation. An event that involved him contacting colleagues for assistance and although future events resulted in his death the colleagues especially Ryan Kaine his commanding officer extracted revenge on the criminals involved. Fast moving storyline and good read.
Danny started the ball rolling in the previous book when he saw what he thought was a battered wife and husband in a car. Determined to right this wrong, little did he know just how wrong he was!! Another brilliant novel that has taken us away from The 83 but has still given us the action and thrill of the chase. The team all come back together along with the banter but then sadness intervenes. Read this and find out what happens, you will not regret it.
The 8th book in the series about Ryan Kaine and his team is up to date, aligned to post-Brexit trading challenges. This time I found myself holding my breath more than even and was even moved to tears. I’ve been enjoying following Ryan’s campaign to support his victims’ families and hope there will be many more books to follow - please, Kerry!
Have read all eight books in this series, They are all different but the common threads of friendship, decency , honesty and honour pull them all together. Ryan has the misfortune to be deceived by a friend, he spends his life trying to atone for his mistakes. A thoroughly good read.
It's a shame a native Hungarian did not proofread this. The Hungarian translation and words are most of the times completely wrong or just out of character. For anyone who speaks the language it's a bit off-putting. Apart from this it's an exciting book, if you like the series, you'll like this as well.
It didn't feel like the same series but Kaine in a different series...without the "83" plot! The storyline was as violent as ever! I always wonder how many "chaps" Kaine has on speed dial since they just appear out of nowhere! Book 8, is still a good story, but not as excellent as previous books in the series!
We follow Danny this time in a situation he felt was unfinished and needed to be addressed from the previous book. The gang comes together to help another innocent person from an impossible situation . But this time its not related to the 83 crash. There are some crazy twists and turns. Not all good. Bring the kleenex.
This book is as good as the other seven in the series. I read them cover to cover in a day or two, they are that good. Now I have to wait for the next release!
This book shows how pissed off Ryan Kaine can be. His best is killed while helping an abused woman. This sets off a trip to the Continent to find the culprits. This book reminds me of the power of friends who come through for you in the end.
non stop action from the first sentence, as usual in this series. Pity it’s fiction !!! Just wish the author could write as fast as I am forced to read his novels as I am always left wanting more, roll on books 9/10/ etc
Great read and action packed Ryan is called by his loyal friend Danny with tragic outcome !A story of loyality among friendship and revenge will miss this person as has become a good member of the team .
For me action was 5 stars. Plot 4.5 stars. The constant interaction of trying to shield “Doc” 3 stars its getting old. Author should look to the series “A Middle falls time travel story” for how characters lives should progress.
This book series keeps you guessing all the time. You think it’s going in one direction and then bam you are hit with another way. Readers will enjoy reading and I am looking forward to finding out more about Kaine.
I’ve read ALL of the Ryan Kaine series, and loved every one! So sad to be finished… REALLY SAD to have his best buddy Danny die- even for a good cause….I’m hoping for a few more books in this series…gotta keep Rollo,Cough,Lara and don’t forget Ryan’s dad -busy…!
This series has had me up night after night! It’s just unputdownable edge of the seat reading. I’m coming to the end of the series and am hoping the author keep producing such great reads. Iwill be trying his DCI Jones series in hopes they’re equally trilling.
Still trying to help the 83, Kaine and team are diverted by the prospect of an abused wife. Sometimes things are not what they seem, they are worse. Will the team respond when they have other responsibilities? How could they not...
I thought this was one of the best books up to #8; The reason why is that Ryan wasn't a nice guy - everyone who deserved to be held accountable was identified and taken care of. I couldn't put down the book/kindle until it was finished. I can't wait to continue the excellent series.
Great story and back into the pace and action of this series. Really enjoyed. Just a thought I know all the covers mention Jack Reacher and if you want to read an author with a similar great character I would recommend Alan McDermott and Tom Gray. Onto the next instalment of Ryan Kaine.
Love the Ryan Kaine character like I loved Jack Reacher. Always look forward to Maine's next move and know he will be successful. A bit gory at times but it's that kind of book
I enjoyed a story about one of the friends in Ryan's circle even though the ending was not what I expected. All the characters in this series show empathy for humans and I like that. It seems that the bad guys are getting more evil and the good folks need more help. Such is life.
A shift in focus to a degree. From the beginning, there were surprises and twists to keep you figuring out what was coming next! Battling to save a damsel in distress was Danny's call this time.
Disappointed, killing Danny was totally unnecessary. Added nothing to the series and left me with a lower feel for the story. Up until now I had given the series the highest rating. Now I have reservations about the rest of the series.
I just finished reading books 1 thru 8 and I loved them all. Ryan Kaine and his crew all are real people doing the best they can in dangerous situations.
