True Immortality #3

Bound by Forever

Rate this book
Niamh Farren has been burdened by knowledge for most of her life. As one of seven fae children born into the human world with the ability to open the gate to Faerie, Niamh’s mission is to guide her fae brethren to do what’s right. Because Niamh has seen what will happen to the human world if she does not protect the gate. Throughout the years, she’s traveled the world with her brother Ronan, using her psychic visions to find the fae-borne and convince them to stay on the path that will keep the gate from opening. She has sacrificed much … but when she loses her brother to the mission, Niamh begins to lose herself.

For nearly one hundred and fifty years, werewolf Kiyo has wandered the planet as a lost soul. Cursed with immortality, he spends his awful eternity as a mercenary for hire. When the powerful Fionn Mór confides the truth about the existence of Faerie and hires Kiyo to protect one of the fae-borne, he accepts the challenge out of boredom, not heroism. Yet Niamh is unexpected in every way the werewolf can possibly imagine.

Guarding Niamh from her enemies is nowhere near as challenging as protecting the fae woman from herself. If Kiyo is to succeed, he must help Niamh find herself again, and not just for her sake. Ignoring the fierce connection between them may no longer be an option. A new enemy is rising and threatening to rip open the gate between worlds. To remind Niamh of who she really is, Kiyo must make the choice to lower his defenses and give into their bond. Or safeguard his own heart … and in doing so lead the human world to the brink of war.

-"Whether it's passion, lust, love, anger, vengeance, compassion, ambition, determination... emotion gives us reason to live. If you don't have that, what's the point?"

5FF1C915_C039_4987_9936_C061BBA2861A

Niamh Farren is a beautiful 26 yr. old Irish fae-borne woman born into the human world. Her magic was limitless, and she was one of the most powerful beings on the planet. As a result she'd been on the run since she was twelve. She was a psychic who had spent most of her life trying to decipher and follow her visions. Humans and supernaturals alike were drawn to her, and she tries to blend in while anticipating enemies lurking in the shadows. Her gifts become burdens when tragedy strikes and she loses the one person that is her home. Consumed by grief Niamh is completely lost. She's lonely, sad, and unpredictable. She's been careless and is bringing too much attention to herself. She hardly recognizes herself anymore, and has become a bit of a wild card. Being one of the Fae with special abilities to open the gate to Faerie carries great responsibility. When she seems to veer off her intended path, she crosses paths with a grumpy wolf named Kiyo that is a mystery to her. He's possibly the most beautiful man she's ever seen, but also the most irritating.

Kiyonari Fujiwara is a Japanese American immortal werewolf who has lived the life of a nomad. He's a lone alpha who has been an underground fighter and a mercenary for hire. He's cold, opinionated, quiet, broody, loyal, honorable, and always on guard. He doesn't let anyone get too close to him, but he accepts a job from one of the few people he trusts. Fionn Mor hires him to protect Niamh. Failure wasn't an option, but she makes it very difficult for him to do his job. Her capabilities were endless, and she was constantly on the move while being hunted. She appears delicate and vulnerable, but she's fierce, and a force to be reckoned with. She challenges him at every turn and becomes a thorn in his side. Kiyo took pride in his unwavering self control, and she made him feel unhinged. In his world emotions are weakness, but when they begin to creep in will he lower his defenses for love?

-Out of all my incredible gifts, my soft emotions, as you call them, my kindness, my compassion, my love, are my greatest. Because without them, I am the darkest, most dangerous being you'll ever meet.

-She'd never been the type to crush on a bad boy, and she didn't want to start now. But she couldn't deny she felt an electric awareness of the wolf or that he didn't fascinate her.

-Everything he felt... was too much.

-She was a flower in the mirror. She was the moon's reflection on the water. A beautiful but unattainable dream. She was an emotion inside of him that couldn't be described in words.

-"I used to resent forever. And now, because of you, Niamh Farren, forever will never be enough."

4.5 stars!

Another fantastic read from Samantha Young. A fast-paced, exciting paranormal read with great world development, fantastic characters, a whole lot of action and a beautifully emotional love story. I devoured this book, and couldn’t get enough!

This is the third book in the True Immortality series. There is enough background given for you to read this as a standalone, but it contains spoilers for the earlier books in the series. And honestly, why would you pick up a paranormal book halfway through a series anyway? So much has already happened, and the first two books are just awesome, and you don’t want to miss out on those! I definitely recommend starting this series from the beginning so that you get the full picture and appreciate it the way it was meant to be read.

This is the story of Kiyo and Niamh. Both have already been introduced in earlier books, and it’s a bit of a complex backstory so I won’t go into too much detail, but basically Niamh is a fae living in hiding because she’s being chased down by various supernatural factions who either want to kill her or use her almost fathomless powers for nefarious purposes. Kiyo is an immortal werewolf who has been hired by Fionn (hero of book, #2, Kiss of Vengeance) to track Niamh down and protect her - Kiyo’s immortality makes him a one-of-a-kind werewolf, and he is the only being strong enough for the job (there is a fun free short story - Kiss of Eternity"> - which shows us this arrangement being made).

Niamh is an incredibly gifted fae whose life has not been easy. Reeling from grief, loss and guilt, she has taken it upon herself to become a lone vigilante, meting out justice to bad guys that she sees in visions. Her ‘missions’ have her bouncing all over Europe, until Kiyo steps in.

Kiyo is a lone wolf in every sense of the word. He has kept himself attachment-free, and his cold and ruthless demeanour stops him from getting involved with anybody or anything. Looking after a fae is the last thing he wants to do, but he is being paid well do it. And, once he meets the beautiful young creature, he is intrigued.

“I am one of only five beings left in this world with powers beyond anyone’s wildest imagination. I’m capable of things you couldn’t conceive of.” She stepped into him, forcing him to hold her gaze. “And out of all my incredible gifts, my soft emotions, as you call them, my kindness, my compassion, my live, are my greatest. Because without them, I am the darkest, most dangerous being you’ll ever meet.
“Be grateful I am who I am, Kiyo. For everyone’s sake.”

Ooooh, shivers!

It’s not a smooth start for them though. Immediately distrusting of the werewolf, Niamh battles to get free of Kiyo, and we get this wonderful back-and-forth as the two powerful immortals battle it out for dominance. It’s exciting and dramatic, and parts of it are fun, as they bicker and fight, and they have big hurdles to overcome when it comes to gaining each other’s trust.

“There is light and dark in all of us, Niamh. Sometimes life causes us to let in a little more dark than we’re comfortable with. But as long as we remember the light exists to chase away the shadows, we’ll be okay.” He glanced at her meaningfully. “The dark is our imperfect natures, but without it, we’d never realize how beautiful the light is. How beautiful it is as it dances with the shadows.”

This book is a lot more emotional than I was expecting, and I really enjoyed that aspect of the story. Kiyo, who has been alone for so long and has been keeping secrets for centuries, has a lot to learn as he begins to open up for the first time in his life, and Niamh needs to find it in her to trust somebody else to be there for her her. It’s a dramatic journey with lots of ups and downs as they figure it all out, but I loved watching it all unfold (especially when Kiyo gest some help from a fellow werewolf that I was thrilled to see again!).

“You can’t love someone if they’ve never shown you who they really are … I’ve only ever shown one person who I really am. And I’m looking at her right now.”

The romance is a slow burn, but so, so worth the wait! As I said, there’s a lot that they have to learn before they can even begin to get involved, but the build up is fantastic, and the chemistry sizzles, so by the time they actually get there, I was almost delirious with happiness (and fanning myself at the hotness) as they finally figured themselves out.

“I want you,” he repeated and pressed his hand harder against her heart. “But I want this too. If you can’t give me that, you need to say so now because I can’t take one without the other. Not with you.”
Her whole body seemed to sag into him. “You already have it,” she confessed. “I feel like you’ve had it forever.”

From Eastern Europe to Scandinavia, Scotland, France, Japan and more, it’s a whirlwind journey for Kiyo and Niamh as they follow Niamh’s visions, leading to one hell of a showdown that is exciting, suspenseful and action-packed. I loved the tie-in to Kiyo’s past as they visit his home country, and the story twists and turns as a new threat emerges – one that has the potential to destroy the world as they know it.

This is a great read, with a really satisfying ending, including an intriguing glimpse into Elijah’s story up next. We get to catch up with the couples from the previous books, and I am loving both the strength of the fae sisterhood, and the ‘bromance’ dynamic as the guys all interact. So fun!

This series is turning into a PNR fave! I am loving the action, excitement and the passionate, emotional love stories, and I can’t wait to see how it’s all going to finish in the final book.

I loved this one – 4.5 stars!

Protecting Niamh from her enemies was one thing. Protecting her from herself was a far greater challenge.

I live for a good PNR, and I was hooked on this series the second I readWar of Hearts.

In this third installment an immortal werewolf is sent to protect a powerful fae with visions of the future from a revenge that may cost her her life. I've been anxiously anticipating this story ever since
Niamh first made an appearance as a nameless and mysterious secondary character in War of Hearts. Her story really came to a head inKiss of Vengeance and I highly recommend that you read this series in order to truly get the full impact and experience. You definitely need to at least Kiss of Vengeance in order to fully understand Niamh's plight and the introduction to Kiyo.

Now if you love your heroes grumpy and uber protective like me, you will fall head over ovaries for Kiyo the second you meet him. When Fionn hires Kiyo to protect Niamh, he's not exactly thrilled. A loner by nature and one of the only immortal werewolf in existence, Niyo lives a life of secrecy and no attachments. A beautiful but tortured fae that tempts him at every turn is not a complication that he needs in his life. So suffice it to say that the two of them clash epically when they first meet. But then again, Kiyo does essentially kidnap her to protect her. And then she escapes him at every turn to run head first into danger. So this is certainly not a recipe for a smooth relationship.

The chemistry between them is instant even though the relationship is very a much a delicious slow burn. Kiyo fights his connection while Niamh yearns for something...more. I loved her sweet and vulnerable nature in comparison to Kiyo's cold and ruthless one. I loved watching him succumb more and more to their connection and reveal bits and pieces of his past. I loved Niahm's mixture of fierce strength and emotional vulnerability. These two were like the missing puzzle piece for the other.

The story was full of twists and turns with a layer of sizzling slow burn romance that I couldn't get enough of. With each new installment in this series another layer gets peeled back and I can't wait until the conclusion with book four. Bound by Forever was a wonderful combination of action, suspense, rich world building and swoony romance. I can't recommend it enough for any PNR lover out there

That was my face while reading this book. Let me count the ways this was a big dissapointment.

1. Essentially the same exact thing as the first two in this series.
The plot to the characters all felt repetitive to the point i knew what was going to happen before it happened. Yes, romance is very predictable, but it got to a point where i knew what each interaction was going to entail and thats no fun. I want to be surprised and this was just another book in a long line of sameness.
So this had:
Grumpy hero that doesnt want any friends ? Check ☑️
Flighty, irresponsible, damsel in distress heroine? Check ☑️
Being chases by bad guys and just bouncing around Europe? ☑️
No romantic development until the later half of the book? ☑️

2. The hero and heroine
Girl. Bruh. Manwhore matched with a 26 year old virgin heroine. GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE. This pissed me off so much because it was so unnecessary. It's 2020. Women are allowed to have sex with other men. But what takes the cake is that this is where were by 50%:

"He’d been fighting it for days, and he was tired of resisting.
Kiyo definitely needed to get laid.
But it wouldn’t be with Niamh.
The woman was far too dangerous.”

And this is supposed to be a fated mate story? Get. the. fuck. outta. here.
The romance in this book was extremely disappointing. To the standoffish personality of the heroine to the bored, annoyed attitude of the hero, this was all around a chore to read. And the MC's were insufferable to get to know. I didn't care about their tragic backstories because they were just so annoying.
A Fated mate story where neither character doesnt recognize their fated mate until they have sex.... thats basically a regular romance. Why bother making it fated mates at all?

3. Ex drama.
On top of some poor romantic development, you have to read through a scene where the H is met with an ex hookup and she's all over him and he doesnt push her away. They basically kiss in front of the heroine and he has his hands on her hips. Fucking gross, man. i dont want to read that shit. He doesnt want her, but he doesnt push her away either.

And thats it.

Safety: safe to personal preference
No cheating, no OP after meeting
No OM drama
Some OM drama
H is immortal and 200 years old, so he's been around the block (a lot apparently)
heroine is a 26 year old virgin because sexism is alive and well
Pushing and pulling on both sides.

“I used to resent forever. And now, because of you, Niamh Farren, forever will never be enough.” He felt her tremble slightly as she clung to him, eyes wide with the wonder that he could love her so much. “We’re bound by forever,” she whispered, her bliss and awe wrapping him in love, loyalty, and desire. Her emotions tasted like caramel and spice on his tongue; they felt like power and heat and electricity.

The fact that I read Bound by Forever in the midst of dealing with a leaky bathroom, and moving apartments (do you know the fucking stress???) says a lot about how much I loved this book. Reading this book was the only way I could escape the hell my life had become (yes, I'm being dramatic).

The first two books were mainly set in Europe, but in this one, the MC's travelled to Japan. S. Young has such a way with describing places that gives me the itch to travel (I don't even like travelling). In my humble opinion, I think the author did a great job in writing Japanese culture/society. It seemed very authentic and not at all cringy.

The heroine, Niamh (pronounced Neev), is a fae. She's also a powerful psychic that receives visions. Niamh plays a very important role across the series and was basically the match-maker in the previous 2 books. She's a sweetheart through and through. She wears her heart on her sleeve and has a heart of gold. But don't let that deceive you because when she's threatened, she can be a badass. Even more so than the previous heroines.

Kiyo is no stranger, as readers have already met him in the previous book. (Recap: He's an immortal werewolf that fought Fionn in an underground fighting ring). I was so excited to learn that he had his own book because he is a motherfucking badass. And yay for Asian representation, right?! Kiyo is mysterious, he is an alpha in his own right, but he's also a lone wolf. He can be extremely assholish but he's so damn lovable, I can't resist but swoon alongside the heroine.

Where do I even begin with Niamh and Kiyo? They're just so perfect for each other. They both have tragic pasts, and they've been hurt and used before. The chemistry between Niamh and Kiyo was so hot. They're polar opposites. Kiyo is cold and untrusting whereas Niamh is always trying to help those in her vision. It made their slowburn romance all the more awesome. I found it so hard to put the book down, when all I wanted was just more and more of them together.

When we ran in the woods, I'd never felt anything like it," he admitted. "Like you were my pack." Her breath caught.

S. Young is by far the best at writing the fated-mate trope. It's not just about lusty sex scenes but a love that transcends beyond physical comprehension. The way Nimah and Kiyo were able to be so vulnerable with each other and just be there for each other was just... *chef's kiss* SO ROMANTIC.

There's obviously an underlying theme across this series. I like that S. Young is incredibly consistent in it but is also able to make each book unique. I can't give this series enough praise. I'm just super bummed I have to wait a year for the final installment, especially after binging the first three books in under a week.

There’s something about this series that keeps me coming back for more. This penultimate installment in the series had a character I was really looking forward to – Kiyo and he was 100% my favourite thing about the book. He had great character development and that reluctance to care with the soft inside. Niamh was an interesting character but for some reason, I didn’t connect with her that much.

As a couple rubbing along, these two had their fun moments to read about and I did believe their connnection. There’s a but here though, everything between them was a bit to insta and fast for me. However, this was a story told over a shortish time frame, so I guess things were going to happen quickly. I do prefer a relationship that takes time though.

This story and plot development was super fast-paced with lots of twists and turns, maybe a few too many for my reading preference. The story switched on, on page one and didn’t let go until the end. The story had a ‘chase’ feeling as the characters ran from The Garm and The Coven across the globe. There felt like some far-fetched elements but this is paranormal context and I can live with that.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read but the plot didn’t always float my boat. I’ll definitely be back to finish this series though.

Thank you to the author for the early review copy.

“Whether it’s passion, lust, love, anger, vengeance, compassion, ambition, determination…emotion gives us reason to live. If you don’t have that, what’s the point?”

Bound by Forever is the third book in the True Immortality series by Samantha Young, a series we are utterly captivated by. Paranormal romance is our true love, and this series has everything we crave and revel in; supernatural beings, romance and bewitching mythical drama. The fight to prevent the opening of the gate between the human world and the Faerie continues in Bound By Forever with Niamh, one of the fae children who has the ability to open the gate, chasing her visions to protect the remaining Fae from those who wish to destroy, as well as carrying out vengeance on those who kill or inflict harm. Niamh was a brilliant heroine and we rooted for her every step of the way. She had incredible strength, endearing vulnerability, she was sassy with a beautiful soul. She may have felt lost in the shadows, however, she never lost her sense of self. It was no wonder that Kiyo, the immortal lone wolf hired to guard her, fell for her despite his reluctance. Kiyo was an enigma, a loner, and a powerhouse! We fell in love with him and his wolf-side and our hearts hurt over his past.

‘Unlike most of the others, Niamh had been born with the knowledge of who they were and even had snippets of the fae history buried in her consciousness. Worse, she’d had visions of alternative versions of the future depending on the decisions certain key players made.’

‘He would not be charmed by her. He wasn’t charmed by anything. Soulless bastards were immune to charm.’

Bound by Forever was superbly written, we were compelled by the story, entranced by the beautiful Japanese scenery and above all, we fell in love with the characters. Samantha Young has a knack for mastering the recipe of a bloody brilliant paranormal romance. It has intrigue, mystery, drama and perfectly placed romance and heat. The build-up is agonisingly slow, just how we like it. The emphasis being on the storyline and character development. The connection and the push-pull was tantalising, the angst and dramatics electrifying. Filled with twists, ancient curses, and prophecies, Bound by Forever had us hooked and is another fabulous instalment in this series. The road of self-discovery for our fated mates, whilst fighting the good fight, was beautiful and their friendship which built into something so much more was wonderful. We now eagerly await the final book and hope to revisit with everyone who came before!

“The Japanese have a saying: Wabisabi. It’s a perspective, really. It’s the accepting of the fact that life is imperfect and therefore we should appreciate the beauty in the imperfect things. There is light and dark in all of us, Niamh.”

Ok. This series of officially kicking ass!
My love for paranormal fantasy romance is ALIVE, KICKING and GOING STRONG.

Bound by Forever is without a doubt a page turner and I could not get enough of Niamh and Kiyo.
I am a sucker for a fierce werewolf (pstff..like werewolves aren’t badass already, right? ) and Kiyo is a dream. I LOVED his broodiness 🙈 it just made his protectiveness all the more maddeningly attractive.
Niamh..I loved her sweet nature.

I love a slow burn as long as it doesn’t drag on and on and Samantha Young has given us a book that is perfection.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading Bound by Forever. It’s fast paced, action packed and if you’re a fan of the first two book, it’s must read.

I didn't want this book to end! Isn't that the best feeling when you're reading?

S. Young has created a world so rich and vibrant that you see the novel play out like a movie in your mind. Enchanting and riveting, this is a scorching slow-burn romance that will keep you way past your bedtime. But it's even more. The relationship between the ethereal yet powerful Niamh and the broody yet protective Kiyo was a gorgeous dance that helps them both discover the balance between light and dark that lives within us all. And beyond that, how to make peace their pasts and what might lie ahead.

Bound by Forever is one of my top reads of 2020 and I can't wait for the next book in this series!

I've given myself a couple of days to think about this book and my review and I'm going with 2 stars. To say that I am torn about this book would be an understatement.

Ms. Young doesn't know this but I have a love/hate relationship with her heroines and here it was no different. I just couldn't deal with her. There were moments where her common sense just dropped and she did really stupid shit. Which made me feel sorry for the Hero of the book.

I can't say anything negative about the plot throughout the books. But it just doesn't mesh with what I like to read in PNR I guess.

The important question now is to finish this series or call it quits.

4 'Emotion Makes You Stronger' Stars

What a journey! Literally! Bound by Forever couldn't have been more heart grippingly emotional. Action, suspense, passion, love and a world of other emotions, Niamh and Kiyo's story was packed full with memorable moments. PNR Romance at its finest!

Niamh was one of my most anticipated characters, immediately after her introduction, so when I saw that she would paired with the mysterious werewolf Kiyo, I was psyched.

These two... It was clear they were meant to be, from the get go, but damn Kiyo, the 'expert brooder' sure made the things difficult, I'm all for small burn - okay, I'm good it it most of the times, lol - but omg, there were a ton of moments that I wanted to slap him in the head, his refuse and denial in seeing what was right in front of him, aggravated me immensely, he took the broken hero broodiness to new heights, and even so I loved the hell out of the grumpy wolf.

Niamh, poor Fae, she was such a kind and bright soul, even in her darkness, I ADORED her, and I was so rooting for her HEA, after all her trials she deserved the break, and I'm glad that when Kiyo woke up, he showered her with all the love and care she so craved.

When they finally got 'together' I was so joyous I could burst, that the high of a good slow burn right there, and it made me love S. Young even more for giving us not only and extraordinary PNR love story, but an amazingly done interracial one, not only rich and details in Asian culture, but also cementing the HUGE cultural diversity in this that is now one of my most beloved series, can't wait to see what she gives us next with Elijah and Echo's!!! <3 <3 <3 <3

“We’re bound by forever,”
To Kiyo, she was simply Niamh: the other half of his soul.
His to love and his to protect.
And his to follow where she led.
“Bound by forever, Komorebi,”

So far, I’ve enjoyed every installment of True Immortality. This is definitely my least favorite, but a good addition to the series nonetheless. Even though there was a lot going on, I still strangely felt that the book was dragging. And while I didn’t dislike the hero, his emotional whiplash and constant mixed signals started to get tiring. This couple took a really long time to recognize their true feelings and accept what they meant to each other-just when they took a step forward, they fell two steps back.

It’s so hard to find a good PNR series to follow nowadays that I don’t lose interest in, so the fact that I’m still hanging in here enthusiastically says a lot. I’m really looking forward to reading the finale to see how this wraps up for all of the true mates.

I absolutely D E V O U R E D this book. Everything about it was amazing—from the first page to the last, I was hooked. The plot? Riveting. The pacing? Damn near perfect. And don’t even get me started on Kiyo and Niamh… their slow burn romance was so full of sizzling tension and emotional depth, uuggggh it was SO GOOD. The writing was simple, yet effectively descriptive and the way the author captured the vibe of each location the characters went to made me feel like I too was traveling with them on an international adventure. This was hands down the best book in the series. Loved it so much.

Beautiful world building with suspenseful twists and turns at every page, Bound by Forever by S. Young is another brilliant installment to the True Immortality series!!

Niamh Farren is a powerful fae that has visions of the future. Treking all through Europe, she's attempting to make sense of what her visions truly mean. Burdened by grief and loss, Niamh begins to lose herself. She's dead set on revenge, but seeking it out may very well cost her her life.

Kiyo Fujiwara is the only immortal werewolf of his kind and he's hired by Fionn Mór to protect Niamh. He's a loner, a lost soul wandering for nearly 150 years, living the life of a nomad and spending eternity as a mercenary for hire. So, to say Kiyo wasn't too thrilled about his new task is putting it mildly. But, I must admit I was extremely intrigued by this broody character ever since meeting him in Kiss of Vengeance.

Put together a grumpy lone wolf and a beautiful tortured fae and you end up with pretty explosive chemistry and a sweet, sweet slow burn! In the beginning, all they did was bicker back and forth but as time went on they got to know one another. Finally, succumbing to the deep-rooted feelings each felt.

Not only will you get a series filled with the paranormal, but each book you get to fall in love with these characters. The series has intricately woven each book together, leading to an epic ending coming in 2021!! This is definitely a series I recommend you try. Action and a swoon worthy romance, Bound by Forever is such a thrilling read!

I have loved Samantha Young being back in the paranormal world.
Bound by Forever continues with the fae-borne lore with Niamh.
We have already met Niamh in the previous books but for only brief periods.
Now we get to really know her and continue on the journey of the fae-borne.
Of course this story wouldnt be phenomenal without a hunky hot guy to protect our strong heroine... and in walks Kiyo.
I really loved the culture that we got to experience in this story with learning about Kiyo. Another thing I love about Sam’s books is the research she puts in them to make her stories feel as real while building the world she is giving us.
Bound by Forever gives us a great story with lots of action, suspense and of course a sexy tense filled budding of romance..
A must read!!

I was so excited for this book and it definitely didn’t disappoint!!! Anyone who like me loves everything Samantha writes will absolutely love this, it sucked me in and I couldn’t put it down I kept saying one more page, then one more chapter and I ended up finishing it at 4:00am it was so worth it! This is one of them books that I won’t get over for awhile. I want to read it all over again! Kiyo just became my favourite book boyfriend I want my own Kiyo! The electrifying flirt and looks between him and Niamh gave me shivers and the slow burn ughhh it was so perfect and not rushed! Their bond, friendship, and relationship had time to be nurtured and grow.
Amazing as usual Sam you’ve outdone yourself this time!!!

“She was a flower in the mirror. She was the moon’s reflection on the water. A beautiful but unattainable dream. She was an emotion inside of him that couldn’t be described in words.”

Samantha Young continues her True Immortality series with another action-packed, fantastical adventure—stretching from Europe to Japan—as two more ‘true mates’ bound by magic, destiny and love find one another, joining forces against a new, powerful foe. Amidst heart-racing chase and battle scenes, plenty of dramatic tension, and even a few jaw-dropping twists, the author delivers the sweetest, slowest burn ever between two leads whose attraction is as potent as it is combustible. Young’s crisp, vivid prose captures every subtle nuance of emotion between her characters, making this thoroughly absorbing story an absolute must-read.

Gods, do I love a good Fae book. And this one blew me away.

Now, I have to add that I've only read this book from the True Immortality Series. I will get back to the first two though, because this was bloody amazing (and I fancy the characters from previous books)!

So, Bound by Forever felt like a slow burn romance (and do I love those!). I'm all about the story, the plot - and executing it, characters with a depth, and tension, lust, love. Bound by Forever gave me all of that and more.

I already had it bad from the first chapter on, when Niamh went to the club, and Kiyo found her so easily and had basicaly kidnaped her. I was so engrossed with the MC's, her powers and him in his shifter form, anything and everything that followed was just an added magical bonus.

Amazing worldbuilding and spectacular twists!

This one is my least favorite out of the 2 previous books. Ugh where to even start!

First of all the plot felt repetitive (awfully similar to the other previous two books) and there was little to none romantic development between our two main characters (like come on give me some banter). Also, It was hard to like the main male character, he was unnecessarily grumpy and not in a cute endearing way. I was quite bored throughout the whole book and it felt like a filler book in preparation for the last book in the series, which sucks because I really wanted a good story for the female character.

Anyways i am disappointed 😔 but then 2020 has been full of disappointment and distress so it kind of fits the theme of the year 🤷🏾‍♀️

Third book in True Immortality series was very good but better than the first one, for me, of course...

Here the tension and anticipation were good and prickly, the whole enemies to lovers theme worked very well, BUT unfortunately the rest of the story was so forced and uninventive and flat...and for that fact, this book seemed even longer than it already is.

So, otherwise, cause of it, I would give a lesser rating BUT since there's a redeeming factor in the form of fabulous pent up angst and passion, I'm leaving it at 4 stars.

If you’ve read previous books in Samantha Young’s True Immortality Series, you know that each book in the series follows a different couple, leading the reader across different lands, along different adventures. There’s an overarching narrative that has continues throughout the series, which has led us to the meeting of Niamh and Kiyo in Bound by Forever.

As the only immortal werewolf in existence, Kiyonari Fujiwara is sent to protect Niamh Farren, one of seven fae-born children prophesied to open the gate of Faerie. Thanks to her visions, Niamh knows that her reluctant bodyguard plays an integral part in her mission to ensure the gate remains closed, yet she never could’ve predicted the intense connection they’d forge as they fight for survival against a never-ending parade of adversaries.

There are slow-burning romances, and then there’s Bound by Forever. Samantha Young KILLED me with this book! Talk about sexual tension. 😱 Niamh is someone who wears her heart on her sleeve, experiencing every emotion deeply and acutely. Her attraction to Kiyo is immediate, and she does little to hide her growing feelings for the grumpy, emotionally guarded werewolf, but his determination to purposely detach himself from feeling too much about anyone or anything keeps Niamh at arm’s length. The back-and-forth, will-they-or-won’t-they angst tugged at my heartstrings, and had me glued to the narrative, eager to see what happened next. And Samantha Young doesn’t disappoint.

With an action-packed, danger-filled narrative, a hopelessly romantic, swoon-worthy love story, and characters that are frustrating and entertaining, but above all, lovable, Bound by Forever is an unmissable installment in Samantha Young’s True Immortality Series. I thoroughly enjoyed Kiyo and Niamh’s story, but I’m even more excited to see how everything and (hopefully) everyone comes together in the upcoming conclusion to the series. I’m already counting down the days until the release of Elijah and Echo’s book.

Bound by Forever is the third book in the True Immortality series by S. Young. The stories of each book seem to be intertwined, but I didn't have much trouble getting into the story and understanding what is going on in this world, so it kinda can be read as stand-lone. Kiyo and Niamh's story might have ended in this book, but the overall story will end in the next and final book in the series.

The main characters are Niamh a powerful fae and Kiyo an immortal werewolf who is tasked with protecting her. Their journey has a lot of ups and downs, but overall I can say that the ups are more and better than the downs.

The reason why I had trouble getting into the story is the constant flee and chase that is happening with Niamh and Kiyo. She runs away from him 3 to 4 times and he is always trying to catch her. Only the first time was justified in my opinion. Kiyo was way too stubborn and secretive so Niamh had her reasons, but it was had for the romance. The romance actually begins in the second half of the book.

I enjoyed the parts about Japan and the Japanese that were used because it helped me learn a few things. I had a slight problem with Kiyo's name because I kept reading it Kyo but other than that everything was good. The lore was also one of the book's good points and I will definitely come back for the 4rth book. I wanna know how this story will end.

Kiyo is stubborn and a little too typical alpha male. I didn't like reading about him wanting to sleep with other women or how he behaved around his ex. It ruined, a little, the idea of what soulmates are in this book for me. Niamh has her issues too, but as the story went on I found myself liking her more. She is slowly becoming her own persona and I can't wait to see more of her in the next book.

Overall, the book was good. The characters had a rough start on their romance, but everything worked out in the end. I would not recommend reading the book as a stand-alone and I would suggest picking book 1 first.

"I used to resent forever. And now, because of you, Niamh Farren, forever will never be enough."

4.75 stars

Every time I start a new book in this series, I think that I can't possibly love it as much as the previous books. And every time Samantha Young proves me wrong.

The tension and fascination between Niamh and Kiyo were instantaneous, but neither wanted to find their true mate. Niamh was on a self-destructive path of vigilantism after the death of her brother left her reeling, while Kiyo was determined to keep everyone at arm's length and simply treat her as a distraction from his immortality. However as soon as their paths crossed, their fates and hearts became inextricably linked as they fought for the fate of the world and their love. I adored how clueless yet affected Kiyo was by Niamh; she challenged nearly every belief he had and forced him to live once again. Niamh was such a badass heroine, but I loved the tenderness and intimacy that developed between herself and Kiyo. There were so many new twists in this story, and I cannot wait for the finale!🖤

Tropes: fated mates, grumpy/sunshine, jaded protector hero, badass heroine-on-the-run, forced proximity, touch her and die, hurt/comfort, hate-to-love-you, opposites attract, road trip, found family, slow burn, STEAMY🔥

My Kiyo, the immortal werewolf who is exasperated yet enchanted by his mate..

Bound By Forever is the third book in Young's True Immortality series and can be read as a standalone, but I would not recommend it. Many of the characters are either introduced in other books and are mentioned as the books are released. However, you don’t need any prior knowledge to read each book. But I would recommend reading them in order so you have a much more fulfilling experience as you read them.

Young's third book brings us an immortal werewolf sent to find and protect a very powerful fae. Niamh has many enemies that want to find her and kill her. Kiyo made a pact with another immortal to find and keep Niamh safe from her enemies and possibly herself.

And that is all that you are getting from me about this book. I won’t ruin it by spilling the beans accidentally. This story is a slow-burn and it's necessary with this one. The storyline and how things progress cannot be rushed. You can feel the tension and angst roll off the pages as everything plays out.

Even though each book is showcases a particular couple, there is an underlying plot that is happening throughout each book. I love that Young summarizes a lot to keep readers up-to-date on what has happened without taking away from the story and gives new readers a better insight. As always, we are left with smiles for the current couple but are let eagerly awaiting what we will get in the next book.

If you love paranormal romances, I highly suggest you read this series. Young delivers book after book full of a whole new world with unique characters that we wish could be real.

4 1/2 "Komorebi"

I loved this book! It was a slow burn with tons of action and adventure. It took me to the beautiful county of Japan. And gives us just a peek at Japanese culture. I love when a book takes me away to another land. Only way to travel these days. But one day... Japan is on my list.

Niamh and Kiyo were two characters I really rooted for. They both had their own pasts to settle but their connection was there right from the start. And once that smoke became a flame, it was an inferno. This series keeps getting better and better. I cannot wait for for the finale! Happy reading!

More action and adventure from the supernatural team that is True Immortality, featuring the immortal Fae and and their true mates. Book 3 sees Niamh Farren finally meeting her true love. Too bad Japanese American werewolf Kiyonari ‘Kiyo’ Fujiwara is not on the market for romance or love, in fact he thinks the true mate bond would shatter his freedom, and under no circumstances will he ever be “mate-whipped”. No way, no how. It would appear though that he underestimated the strength of the true mate bond, and he’s going to learn the hard way, because Niamoh Farren is nobody’s fool, and she’s not going to take orders from anybody, especially some overgrown dog. The fact that Kiyo is charged with protecting Niamh is not something that either of them want, but Kiyo is getting paid a lot of money to keep her alive, so he’s going to stick to her like glue, even if she dies push all his buttons. A great series that I’m really enjoying, I’m loving the characters, their abilities, and their back stories, along with all the action fuelled by the bad guys (they always seem to be a step ahead - how do they do that?). It all makes for an addictive, action packed romance. Kiyo and Niamh gave me all the feels with their supercharged chemistry. Off the charts, slow burn romance at its best. Another winner from S Young. Oh, and I absolutely loved reading all the Japanese translations into English. The little sayings and their literal meanings. What a wonderful language.
I really can’t get enough of this series. Whilst I’m sure that book this can be enjoyed and read as a standalone, full understanding of all the characters and myths will be gained by reading the previous 2 books in the series. S Young has also written a novella linking book 2 with book 3 (Kiss of Eternity) which is available to read free on her website https://authorsamanthayoung.com/books...
I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
