Ben Chaffins has spent years interviewing people who have worked on tokusatsu (“special effects”) TV and films. This book compiles many of those interviews, which were published on SciFi Japan, but it also features several exclusive interviews. Some interviewees played big role behind the camera, some were small parts. But they all bring insights to filmmaking. Chaffins also writes interludes in each chapter, chronicling his own journey with the genre. This is a great read for all kaiju/toku fans!
