This was a fun, easy read!

Dee and Meg are sisters who jointly inherit their family’s motel on the beach in the Florida Panhandle after their father’s death. Meg, the older sister, has always, with one small exception, a one night stand that led to her daughter’s birth, been the practical and responsible one. After high school she stayed in Panama City and worked at the motel. Dee was the dreamer. She went to California in her early twenties to become a star. Approximately seven months after her arrival she meets Rooster McCoy and he gets her everything she hoped for. Then things turn ugly. I won’t go into more of the plot, but it is interesting and feasible. The ending really isn’t one because this is the start to a series about the sisters. Thanks to the author and publisher for an e-galley for an honest review.

Typical plot turns into so much more.

Entertaining goodread turned into an exciting page turner.
The plot was typical beautiful girl goes to Hollywood to become a star, until it turned into so much more. Book 2, a must read, I know the sister secret, must know what happens to them.
Alison Clair Grey’s writing style and characters held my interest and kept pages turning.

I think it is billed as a mystery but there’s nothing mysterious. There’s a lot of flashback to the horrific past of her very abusive relationship and attempt at being an actress. If there was any indication of that in the blurb…well the blurb lured me in and I didn’t get what I expected. I pretty much just wanted it to be over, I don’t need chapters of abuse for entertainment.

So enjoyable..

This book definitely kept my attention. It was very timely with all the serial harassment issues going on now. I am sure things haven't changed much in the current time unfortunately. I look forward to the sequels..

Too much profanity

Started out good but the further I went the more profanity so I’m out on this book. Not my kind of writing b

Great thriller

This story kept you engaged until the end. It shows the strong bond between family. Can't wait to read the next book and see what is in store for the two sisters.
