Betrayed is the second book I’ve had the pleasure of reading by Nick Haskins, who writes drama and suspenseful novels. In Betrayed, the story centers on a father, his son and a woman who changes everything. William is loyal, believes in family and believes in honoring promises he’s made to keep his son safe and to provide everything he needs. As time passes it is natural for him to want companionship but only if his son, Billy approves. Billy feels it is healthy for his dad to move on but doesn’t know what to expect until he met Jennifer.

Betrayed is an awkward love triangle that doesn’t disappoint because the characters are believable as well as the story line. This book held my attention with just enough drama, twists and turns. The only reason I gave it a three star is because there are areas in the book that have telling instead of showing, which ruined some of the suspense and anticipation of what the characters would do next. However, I will definitely read more of this author’s work.

A Tangled Web...

What would you do if you found out the two people that you loved the most betrayed you? This is the question William had to ask himself over and over again. It was no secret what would happen in this story but Jennifer and Billy were super messy and disrespectful. I was upset with the father William at times because he seemed so weak and delusional in the story. He was continuously in denial and really wanted his marriage to Jennifer to work despite the circumstance. I really enjoyed this book and I liked that the author provided an alternate ending. I actually preferred the alternate ending because I felt Billy and Jennifer got what they deserved, finally. This is my first time reading this author's work and I look forward to reading more of his books.

Betrayed by Nick Haskins is an interesting drama. One small family lost their loved one.  Now many years later, a father is ready to love again. Yet this new character may just rip them apart. The plot was intense, dark, and sad. I felt sympathy for the father and son. Some things are easy to steer away from while other temptations are not. Jennifer Payne was exactly that. She ended up destroying what mattered most.  Watching the destruction of a father and son relationship was hard. It was an huge emotional  mess.

Nick Haskins is a creative writer. His novel was entertaining and deeply engaging. Themes of love, lies, and betrayal are found here. Family, loss, and grief are the other remaining themes readers will find. The father was my favorite character. He had the best intentions and was trying to do well by his son. For that reason, it was easy to connect with William. Overall, the plot was promising but a bit slow due to the telling instead of showing. I recommend this drama action filled story to all readers.

I received this copy from the publisher. This is my voluntary review.

Some People Are Not Meant to be Touched!

William and his son Billy Jr had been together since Billy was 5yrs old. Once Billy graduates his dad is ready to get back in the dating scene in good and cold azz Anchorage, Alaska. One day beautiful Jennifer walks into William’s lumber company and the chemistry is undeniable. Billy is still living at hone and his hunger for the one woman he knows he is untouchable becomes “touchable” and the denial from this triangle because unbearable. Ronnie Williams brother and his wife Epatha sees the connection between Jen and Billy JR. As Jen and Billy escalate their relationship William will make a decision that will turn the pier household and lives upside down. I wish their communication would’ve been stronger because Jennifer knew she was wrong and either way she has to go down!

So this is about a father named William who lived with his boy Billy. His wife had passed away and he had no intention to marry again because he wanted to focus in raising Billy. When Billy grew up, William thought maybe it was the right time to remarry again. Then he met Jennifer and fell hard for her. The marriage was held and they lived happily ever after.

Nahh. . .
It was a lie.
It was far from happy.
It was sad.
It was hurt.
Because the betrayal come from the closest person William had.
My heart just literally broke when I read this. William deserves better.

this book is a good example though. It tells You don’t screw up with your father’s wife. Cause it won’t end well on both sides.

Wow!!!!

This books was so touching. So many real feeling about how another can love another so hard and deep, body and soul and lose themselves in it. To be betrayed by a love one is hard to deal with. To think that you have found someone to love you as you love them, then to only found out that they really don't love you the same. Mr. Nick Haskins what an awesome piece of work. Hats off to you. My first time reading your work but not my last. Lata

Intense Read

Honestly I am at a loss for words. Nick has such a way with words! Once again, this story captured me from the first page. This is an intense story about love, lust and betrayal.

Each character is well developed and alive. From the son, down to the nosy sister-in-law. I loved everything about this book.

It is a tragic love story that left me broken and confused.

Heartbreaking

Reading this book is like watching a disaster in motion. You will want to look away. You will try to figure out a way to stop what is happening in seconds. You can't stop watching and the ending is more horrible than anything you could have imagined. This book will haunt me.

Five Stars!

This book brought out so many emotions but I couldn't put it down. The love he had for his son and all he did for his son... Only for his son to do the things he did just broke me down. People always say a woman can bring the worse out of a man. I recommend this book, you won't be disappointed!

4.3 ⭐️. Very interesting and full of drama. Despite that, there were some loop holes. But nothing to make a huge deal over. William honored his 1st wife wishes and waited to be with another woman and this is how his 2nd wife does him. Smh. Billy and Jennifer were flat wrong for their actions. Although we were given 2 alternative endings, one more wound have been them all going their separate ways.
