It's been a long time since I've read any of the Moreno Brothers books, but no one could forget their friends the Romero's. So when I saw this book I knew I had to read it. Definitely didn't let me down. Loved Pat and Max together.
Reviewed in 2020 - I feel embarrassed to say this but this is one story I couldn't help waiting for..
I really loved Pats and Max relationship and personality. They really do clash with each other, especially if you have read Romero you will get a certain understanding to both of there attitude towards each other.
This story is a quick, intense and a steamy short story. I really wished it was longer.
If you’ve read Romero, then you’ll definitely remember Pat as the snobby, judgemental and opinionated older sister of Isabel. Pat is the only one of Elizabeth’s heroines I feared disliking. However, some time has passed since the end of Romero and I found Pat’s fussy ways to be quite funny and she does have a sense of humour. I love opposites attract stories and Pat and Max purposely winding one another up was fun to see. There were some passionate moments between them as they gave into their attraction.
I love this series and was excited when this book was released. It's about time Max is telling his story. He's been in a no strings attached relationships that I thought he would always be the third wheel to his brother Manny and his wife Ida. It was also good to see Izzy's sister Pat spending more time with her and the Romero's. She still uppity and snobbish, but she's coming around. This short story was definitely worth the read.
I loved this novella about one of the uncles. It was perfectly done - only thing better would be to see the aftermath - you know those stories that we wish never end.
