Covered: A Covered Girls Novel
Who can you depend on when your family doesn’t act like a family and your mother has just died?
Covered tells the story of the Shephard sisters, who treat each other more like strangers and sometimes enemies. It is their mother’s, Cicely’s dying wish, that they spend the next seven days at her home in New Orleans, LA, and share quality time together, while Cicely watches over them throughout the week. She can not rest in peace until she knows that the division, she selfishly created between them has been diminished.
Allow me to introduce you to the fabulous Shephard sisters. Dr. Dianna Faith Shephard lives halfway across the world or so it seemed to Cicely, in New York City. She is a renowned cardiovascular surgeon, who has shut herself off from her family for over twenty years. Then there is Tina Marie Champion. Tina is a real estate tycoon, who is mad at the world, because of self-induced pain. Next is Simone Chantelle Riley, a stay-at-home wife and mother of two. She thinks she alone has to save the world, including her sisters. We could never leave out, Tracey Cecilia Shephard, a high-maintenance, free-spirit mother of two, with a third on the way, all with different daddies. Nevertheless, Tracey lives as though she rules the world, never having worked a day in her life and living a life of luxury. Last, but certainly not least, we have Christina Autumn Shephard, a college student, who discovers that she is not the daughter, but the granddaughter of the late Cicely Shephard. She is just trying to find her place in the world.

Covered was an engaging and enjoyable read, filled with compelling characters and a story that kept me hooked from start to finish. The writing was immersive, and I loved the way it made me feel completely transported into its world!

Great stories about families healing together. Just loved reading this book.
