Jason

No matter how good the sex was or how well they connected.
He needed to focus on his last few months in the Army.
But she was never far from his mind, and now he’s moved to her town.
He’s not about to let her slip through his hands a second time, but is she using him?

There are things l really liked about Layover, and aspects that drove me nuts. For example, Jameson both uses and avoids the pitfalls of the old “one woman hurt me, therefore I don’t want a relationship with any woman” trope by having the hero Jason both follow this and then quickly move past it when he comes to realize that Libby, his one-night stand from a wedding reception hookup, means much more to him than he first realized.

Libby, on the other hand, didn’t work for me. She’s referred to as a decisive dynamo, but throughout Layover, she’s wishy-washy. While discovering her submissive side in her interactions with Jason is understandable, she never once blanched at anything he asked her to do, which didn’t quite gibe with someone who wouldn’t entertain guff from anyone in her other interactions. And Libby is a complete doormat for her mother’s matchmaking plans. Having this ostensibly strong and independent woman unable to address this despite multiple opportunities throughout Layover just didn’t work for me. I ended the book feeling irritated with this heroine, and that’s not a great place to be.

There’s also some action at the end of the book that I felt strayed a bit too far in terms of what former Special Forces officers, like Jason and his friends are, would be able to do in a civilian situation. It didn’t make sense to me.

Jameson writes with her usual sensual intensity in the love scenes, and overall the book is really well structured and interesting. I truly loved seeing Jason’s growth as a person, and I wish I had felt that way about Libby. But half of the couple working for me made Layover ultimately a frustrating read.

This could have been a 4 or 1/2 star story but the redundancy of describing how Libby "shivered" over and over and over or how Jason clenched his fists to his sides over and over and over got old fast. I pick up on words used to an excessive degree in books and it really annoys me.

I love a series in which the characters show up in each other's stories and it appears that Open Skies is going to be one such series. Four friends who are Flight attendants will be paired with four friends who are former special forces. A spinoff from the wonderful Destiny's Delta. Lucky us! Becca Jameson always adds that little something extra to her characters that makes them unique. In this case it's bias of a parent against anyone who is not of the same nationality and therefore unacceptable as a mate. Interesting stuff! Add in some a lot of sizzle and steaminess, suspense and danger and you've got a captivating romance.

Plot your move, scope out the choices, identify your target, go after what you want. That's what Libby Garcia does when she decides to have a one night stand with a military man. Jason Nixon is the guy she's chosen for her plan. Spending the night with Libby certainly wasn't a hardship for him. In fact it was one of the best nights of his life so why did she leave without saying goodbye? Fast forward six months and an unexpected meeting brings Libby and Jason back together. His circumstances may have changed but he's no less dominant than he was before. Dare she give him a chance even though he is completely unacceptable in her mother's eyes? How long will she continue to bend to her mother's will? Keeping their relationship a secret doesn't fly with Jason. Libby has to choose. Does she opt for the man she loves or settle for a man who will make her mother happy?

I really got a kick out of the beginning of this book. Libby decides at the rehearsal dinner to have a one-night stand with one of the groom's hot Delta friends. The one that caught her eye is Jason and the feeling is mutual. However when he wakes up and she's gone, you'd think she committed a cardinal sin. I laughed so hard at his perceived affront.

Yet when they meet up again, both with others, the chemistry they shared that one night is still very much there. Jason is also very much a Dom in the bedroom and while she may deny it because of her usual personality, Libby is submissive.

When she accepts his invitation to come to his home for dinner she wasn't quite expecting what happens. It really is a getting to know you date.

While this book is full of extremely sensuous and sizzling scenes, there is also some intrigue. That intrigue begins with roses she has been getting that she assumed were from Jason. They weren't.

Then there is her mother, always pushing with a man in the wings for her to date. Although with Eddie the woman goes overboard inviting him to a family dinner without informing Libby.

Libby will have to stand up to her family at some point or Jason wouldn't hang around, the memories of a previous relationship wouldn't allow him to be used.

I couldn't put this book down. I kept waiting for the proverbial other shoe to drop. Plenty of twists and surprises with a nice peek at the next book 'Red Eye'

Libby was a stewardess and was at her friends wedding rehearsal dinner and was looking for a one night stand.
She was with her fellow stewardess friends when she spots Jason and he caught her starring at him and he comes over introduced himself and said said that he would like to get to know her and c her at the wedding the next day.
The wedding day arrives and while they dancing Jason asked her had she any plans and they leave the party and go to his room were the chemistry hits the roof.
Libby sneaks out the room without a word to Jason and thought that she would never c him again.
Then a few months later they bump into each other at a night club with there dates.while they were standing there the chemistry was still there but they couldn’t act on it.
Eventually they get together and things get hot and steamy really quick.but both of the them have baggage and don’t talk about it.
Jason is a alpha male and he always put Libby first but she always holding back things from him.
The book is really good they have ups and downs and there is drama and suspense though the book.
The book is well written and the characters are great with steamy scenes though out the book with a HEA.
This the first time I have read this author book and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books about Libby and Jason’s friends in the series.

Really good read

Really enjoyed this story.

Libby has a one night stand with Jason at her friends wedding. Unbeknownst to her he is a Dom and awakens something inside her that she didn’t know was there.
Jason is pretty peeved that she snuck out the next day as he actually felt something for her.
He randomly bumps into her six months later while they’re both on dates. After that they both start up a relationship.
Unfortunately Libby’s mum is extremely racist and doesn’t want her daughter dating anyone who isn’t from Guatemalan and Libby’s inability to stand up to her mum and for herself almost has disastrous consequences.

Point one: the passion was off the charts hot! I was a bit hot under the collar reading it.
I felt really bad for Libby with her situation with her mum. I spent a lot of the book getting so frustrated with her and just willing her to stand up for herself!
Jason was a fantastic character.
I do wish we got to know more about both of their lives and wish the suspense at the end lasted longer.
There was a few typo errors (eg past instead of passed), but nothing that detracted my enjoyment from the book.

“Girl, do you have any idea what kind of men I’ve dated? I’m twenty-eight years old. My mother has set me up with half the Guatemalan men anywhere close to my age in a thirty-mile radius. Every one of them has been a failure.” Exclaimed Libby. Christa giggled. “Your Mom is persistent.” That’s an understatement. They are perfect gentlemen around my parents and then when we’re alone they poof out their chests and start some sort of mating dance. Libby shuddered at the reminder. Christa laughs,
Don’t forget, I’ve been with you on a few double dates. I’ve seen this mating dance in action. Libby sighed as she once again glanced At Jason. I want to know what it feels like to be with a man who is more interested in me than himself. That guy....makes me squirm. I like the way he smiles at me. He rock hard, muscular, and tall. He looks pretty cocky, says Christa. Libby shook her head. No, it’s different. It’s confident, Alpha. This is the Very basic Beginning of a wonderfully suspenseful romantic story I just loved and could not put down.

A simply spectacular read
This was a simply splendid read which I thoroughly enjoyed, the characters were simply wonderful and the plot for this story just left me riveted and I simply could not put the book down until I reached the very last page and discovered the outcome.
Libby had believed that she was simply going to have a one night stand a simple example of trying something totally different. This is when the chemistry between her and Jason came in to play and to say that they were more than well suited and that the chemistry was Hot! Hot! Hot! in very much an understatement.
Then when Libby inadvertently finds herself being kidnapped the only thing, she can hope for is that Jason will possibly come to the rescue, to discover the outcome of this wonderful read you will have to read it for yourself.
I can assure you that you will be totally transfixed,
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Layover

3.5 Stars for Layover.. Open Skies is a spin off from Jameson's book in Delta Team Three Series..book two Destiny's Delta. I was looking for to Libby's story she was fun, spoke her mind in Destiny's Delta..this fell short for me in regards to Libby's character that fun feisty character was toned down. Jason aka Hatch is the male lead, he is all alpha, sexy and a Dominant. Libby is a submissive but doesn't see it until Jason brings it out of her. This is not 24/7 D/s relationship between the characters those scenes are reserved for the bedroom or kitchen of Jason's house. Layover has many scenes of sexy time between the sheets. The storyline fell short for me. Stalker who kidnaps Libby then Jason along with his four friends save the damsel. I would of love to see more of that storyline, the rescue scenes could of been more and less of bedroom scenes.
This story just doesn't compare to other stories by Jameson in my opinion. The characters in the book intrigue me so I will continue with the series. Happy Reading!!

Excellent

Meet the ladies from Open Skies flight attendants these were a group of Ladies mentioned in a series from Delta Three Team in the story from Destiny and Trent Dawkins.
Please fasten your seatbelts and settle down and relax and enjoy the story between Libby Garcia aka Libertad and Jason Nelson aka Hatch . First time they met was at the dinner rehearsal for Destiny and Trent Dawkins and the story unfolds between them both. Libby Garcia has a fantasy to be with a buff , gorgeous military guy whilst her mother expects different from Libby as her mother plays matchmaker in a sense of approval rather than love . Jason Nelson finishes his time with Delta Team military missions and gets a job with his old boss jake aka Tank in the IT programming . Jason relocates to Dallas and stumbles across Libby Garcia. Without describing all the best qualities of the book highly recommended reading loved the characters and romance and storyline and the journey and twists they both come across.

“That brings us to the next question. Are you picky or easy to please?” He lifted a brow and nodded toward the two pizzas. One was cheese only. The other was supreme.
“Since you worded it that way, I’d say I pass pizza test number two. I’m not fond of anchovies or pineapple, but everything else is delicious.”
Not liking something doesn't make a person picky. I hate peas but like just about all veggies. While I like onions and tomatoes, I don't like them on pizza. The FMC says she doesn't like pineapple on her pizza. I love it. So do I get to say she's picky? It's all about preferences. My daughter hates peanut butter and her twin brother hates all things dairy but he has a greater lovefor all vegetable. It's a part of life.

Another selfish FMC.......is this something the author thinks is attractive in women? Yikes if so

I like epilogues especially if they give closure to something. This doesn't have one. It would have been nice to have more closure with the mom rather than she finally stopped scowling at the MMC

Another great read by Becca Jameson. “Layover,” book one of Open Skies, is a spin off series from “Destiny’s Delta,” another fabulous read. From the beginning I was hooked especially reading more about Libby, one of Destiny’s friends. The book starts off at the wedding rehearsal for Destiny and Trent. Libby decides she is going to have sex with a military man, someone who is completely different from the men her mother tries to hook her up with. That’s when she meets Jason Nixon. From there it gets very passionate. They both thought the night was a one night stand at least until the next morning. Libby left but thought about him. Jason had Libby in his thoughts as well. From then on I was hooked wanting to find out what will happen next. I highly recommend this book.

I was given an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest review.

The was only my third Becca Jameson book and I liked Destiny's Delta and was excited to learn that her friends from that book were getting their own stories. Jason and Libby's story was first and they hit a lot of turbulence before taking off, well not the sex aspect of it because that was off the charts but both had some emotional baggage that they had to unpack first. This book was sexy, fun, and a good read. Libby is a spitfire with everyone except her mom and Jason is a sexy dominating male with a few insecurities which is good because characters like real people should not be perfect, drool-worthy, of course, perfect, not so much. I am looking forward to reading the next in the series and becoming more familiar with Ms. Jameson's books.

**Open Skies is a spin-off series from Destiny’s Delta which released September 15, 2020, in Susan Stoker’s world. (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 2)**

Libby just wanted a one nightstand with a buff delta, but Jason's sexual proclivities surprised and pleased her. Not wanting it to be more than just that night she leaves his bed before he wakes. Jason's not use to this and the Dom in him refuses to let go of it. Libby and Jason will cross paths again months later and the sparks will fly. Libby is hesitant about being in a relationship with Jason, because her overbearing Mother believes she can only date Guatemalans, and Jason is White. This book is full of lustful scenes, suspense, stalking, and a Dom finding his true Submissive.

HOLY COW! Another awesome book by Becca Jameson. It was steamy but suspenseful. What started as a one night stand following a wedding quickly developed into so much more. However both Libby and Jason had to overcome some obstacles. For Libby, it was her mother's views on who Libby should date and eventually marry. For Jason, it was getting over a past hurtful ending to a relationship. Oh and there is danger that comes from ... blah blah blah ... NO SPOILERS. Seriously though, I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next and how everything would be resolved. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

If you've read the recent release Destiny's Delta (part of Delta Team 3 series) then you'll have at least a passing familiarity with the characters in this book. Jason and Libby met at Trent and Destiny's wedding (Destiny's Delta) and the sparks were immediate. Things don't go smoothly, though, with misunderstandings, meddling relatives and stalkers. I really enjoyed this book and the characters. My sympathy was definitely with Jason who showed the patience of a saint. I loved the dynamic between all of the characters and the addition of another culture added to the depth of the story. Looking forward to more in this series.

Libby and Jason meet at a friends wedding and both decided on a one night stand. He’s a Delta and hot and she wanted a night with him. They have an explosive night and in the morning shes gone! This seems to be insulting to him but usually it’s the guy who leaves! They both think about each other but he returns to service to finish and she goes home. He gets out of the service and moves to her town and they run into each other and want to see each other again. But it’s not all smooth sailing as her mother’s pushing for a certain man and she’s got a stalker. Can they get together and can he keep her safe? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Layover is the first book in Becca Jameson new Open Skies series. Layover is Jason and Libby’s story. Jason and Libby meet well attending Destiny and Trent’s wedding who we met in Destiny’s Delta. This is a beautiful written love story with Trent being dominant man and Libby discovering her submissive nature. There are many hurdles and some danger they must conquer on there way to true love. I loved this outstanding book!

This book is a spinoff of Destiny's Delta. Jason meets Libby at Trent and Destiny's wedding. Libby and her friends are all flight attendants for the same airline. I had a hard time with Libby and her mother telling her who she could date. Jason and Libby get together but she ends up with a stalker. Things do not go smoothly for these two. There's suspense, hurdles to overcome and danger. Can't wait to see the rest of the crew to get there HEA.

Dominant romance with some angst

Libby meets Jason and there is instant attraction. She runs because her mother wouldn't approve. He's white and she's expected to marry someone from Guatemala. They meet again six months later but she still doesn't want to tell her mom about him. She's too much of a door mat with her mom which is why this gets 4 stars instead of 5. Good action and steamy heat.

Great story

I enjoyed reading the start of a new series. Becca knows how to catch the readers attention with just the right amount dominating men and strong women that can hold her own with her man. Loved it.

Love as big as Libertad!

Adorable, super sexy. This is a delightful read. Realistic and heart warming. Libby deals with her South American Heritage while struggling to be independent. Love has a way of bringing the right people to you. Jason has no doubts.

So, Libby spends the whole time saying she's feisty and strong and independent, and we never get to see it. She doesn't have a spine regarding her parents, regarding Eddie, regarding Jason.
You have to walk the walk, it was just talk, and it was annoying after the first half. 😔

Overall a good story but a bit much for my taste. This is very adult so if this is for you go for it. The story line was good so it could have been scaled a bit for a broader range of people.

Felt a bit dated, TBH. It felt to me like it was written ~2010s. The story is familiar, and well written, but relies on my 2nd least favorite trope - the unstable stalker ex. Overall, ok.
