If you like the captive trope with a sci-fi-active plot, strong military women underestimated and minimised by their alien captives as they conquer galaxies you might like Alien Lord’s Captive . But for me non-consent is problematic. I might have liked the book a tad more if we had consent that didn’t hinge on a bargain.
Message: Don’t fall on the wrong side of an enslaved woman.
What i liked:
1) The promising exciting plot
2) The story had a lot to offer - great characters, humour, action, bold military women up against an advanced alien race
3) Great world-building element
4) I loved the idea that the downfall of Tarrick’s clan hangs on their less-than-stellar perceptions of human intellect.
What i didn't like:
1) Tarrick (the male protagonist) blackmails Cat into 'claiming' her. I didn't realise that there would be non-consent in this book and non-consent is not something i can appreciate or tolerate. Tarrick basically took away Cat's choices by manipulating her decisions based on her moral code. Tarrick isn’t an aggressive or violent character at all, but he still did what he wanted because it ‘is the Lathar way’. The Lathar race apparently prize women and their values but they still have a modest, conservative view of women due to their cultural standards. Historical differences are one thing, and even though races are bound to have traditional differences I don’t think it excuses the non-consent issue. What's even worse is Cat gives in and melts in the presence of her gorgeous alien captive, and even at the end of the book when the dominating war commander/male love interest who kidnapped the females of her race proves that he is adaptable and alters his ways because of his love for Cat, she kind of romanticises Tarrick's kidnap because a bigger, crueler baddie (from an alternative alien clan) of the alien race attempted something much worse.
2) If we are considering the romance in the story it's unfortunately an element in that’s very underdeveloped. The rate at which Tarrick and Cat fall in love is too quick to be believable. I liked both Cat and Tarrick but didn’t particularly like how they went about situations.
3) I loved that we have some badass, military women but the rebellion against the aliens wasn’t really there (this was a real point that would have done wonders for this story). Cat had the intentions of gathering intel so she could plan an escape procedure but that quickly flopped.
All in all, this started out great, but lost points of merit because of some phases of execution, the slightly confusing romance and the lack of consent with the main couple when Cat is initially kidnapped.

Terrific read. Plenty of action, great writing, funny as shit, and mouthwatering sexy!
Not to mention a great plot, well-built universe and sassy characters. The women where not “damsel in distress” -types which is why I have added the last star.

If you have read any of my reviews insta-love is usually not for me. This one was incredibly fast. A ship is destroyed. Humans are held captive. I’m not sure what happened to the males. And all the females pretty much just fall in line and are super grateful for the invasion and kidnapping..... *hand meet forehead*
Just wasn’t for me but if you dig insta-love you’ll probably enjoy this one.

Alien Lord’s Captive is book one in the Warriors of the Lathar series by Mina Carter.
It’s a descent start to the Warriors of the Lathar series. It’s a quick read and the romance moves fast. The Lathar are all Alpha sexy warrior aliens. Their race has lost its females and are in need of the opposite sex.
Our heroine didn’t cower. She took the best option with the chooses presented to her. The human women showed these Lathar males that they are capable, strong, and warriors in their own right.
The romance is quick and you feel the heat between our leads. The sexy times where enjoyable. Not much world building in this first book, but I have hope that we will get more. We are also treated to a little drama in that some of the Lathar are purists.
All and all I enjoyed Alien Lord’s Captive.

Okay...so the first part of this story, the Captured by the Alien Lord part is pure smut with very little rebellion on the part of Cat Moore, the heroine, in the face of being Tarrick’s sex slave. She starts lusting after him from the start but mentally knows that she should resist his making her a sex slave. Then he blackmails her - if she comes to him and accepts not having a choice, he’ll give the rest of the prisoner women up to 3 choices of mates among his men. She does an internal fist pump because it means now she can give in to the insane lust and just fuck him. She even finds out she’s drugged to increase her already present arousal and she’s totally cool with it. I mean, objectively, the sex is hot, but when I’m thinking how she’s all gung ho about having blackmail sex with the guy who made her a slave, it makes it decidedly less sexy.
In the second part, Saved by the Alien Lord, Cat has once again found her rebellious spirit and once again resists the idea of being a slave, and now she’s upset about being drugged. She plots and plans for ways to get away with the other women. Along comes Varish T’Laat, another Lathar, who claims the women as his own. To protect her, Tarrick sends her down with the other women where they joke and shoot the shit about being slaves and choosing the juiciest guy. But simultaneously they sort of plot escape. Then the women are taken by Varish but the women demonstrate that they are stronger than the Lathar think and almost rescue themselves. But Tarrick of course has to go rescue Cat because she’s being assaulted by the big baddy. The women realize how good they had it with Tarrick and his men, Cat’s feelings about being a slave soften considerably. But more likely Cat’s feelings towards Tarrick himself softened...though I’m not 100% sure why (not a lot of interaction between hateyou-loveyou). She was able to convince him to at least give most of the women some choice...3 x they get to say no before the married ones get to go home and the single ones have to stay and support the ones that choose to be mated. This middle part of the book was a bit better since Cat by this time is completely willing and not drugged. But I’m still not loving the fact that Tarrick still doesn’t see anything wrong with raiding civilizations that are inferior to his own (like the Oonat) and the fact that Cat had to bargain for these concessions, rather than him realizing that they were right in the first place. I know, it’s aliens and they’re all about abduction, but I want my hero to be an all around decent guy who knows right from wrong, even if he does push boundaries here and there.
The final part, Bonded to the Alien Lord, has Tarrick realizing that he’s bonded to his new human lover, and his brother Laarn, the healer, determines that humans and Lathar are genetically compatible, possibly even distantly related. Tarrick and Cat head off to his planet, meet the Emperor and get married, much to the chagrin of purists who don’t believe Tarrick should be bonded to a mere human. The women stand their ground, show some guys who’s boss and put down the little insurrection. This one is significantly better because the whole slavery thing is a non-issue at this point. Everybody who stayed is willing and even the Emperor himself outlaws the raiding of human settlements. Sadly, I still wonder and feel sad about the enslavement of these Oonat people who are apparently quite inferior and submissive. Makes me wonder if they’ve been consenting to being sex slaves and broodmares this whole time. From the book description, they’re basically walking wombs. That kept popping into my head and ruining a bit of my enjoyment here. And probably because of that, when Tarrick and Cat started spouting their declarations of love, I didn’t feel it. The attraction and chemistry is obvious, but the love-you-so-much-can’t-live-without-you feelings I didn’t pick up on. Maybe I disconnected at some point, maybe I just need to stop overthinking everything. You may find it completely natural.
I think I ruined my own reading experience here with my obsessive focus on all the slavery stuff earlier in the story. I may be weird, but my tastes in romance don’t jive with modern day, liberated men or women actually accepting (or even coming to love) slave status...not really thrilled with lack of consent in any of its forms really. It has its place in historical romance and I can accept it to a certain degree in fantasy/sci-fi stories where characters are culturally different from humans. But when human beings, who KNOW better, become morally ambivalent about slavery and taking away a person’s right to consent, I start to struggle. I can often still find some enjoyment in the story, but things just don’t sit right in my brain when that happens. That was kind of the case here.

4.75 MINE stars!
This is the first book in the Warriors of the Lathar series and features Cat and Tarrick. Cat's space base is attacked unexpectedly by aliens and all the women on board find themselves captive but not before putting up a good fight. The Lathar do not have any females to call their own so when the leader, Tarrick takes over the base he immediately claims Cat as his. Tarrick is drawn to Cat's independence, grit and fire.
Cat is unsure if she should trust Tarrick, warn Earth or fight for freedom. But she soon finds that Tarrick may not be her enemy and the heat between them starts to grow. A deal, a kidnapping, some mating marks, several fights, some feisty women and an unsure future later you've got one hell of a ride. Not to mention the sexy as hell Lord Tarrick who is possessive and dirty.
This book caught me TOTALLY off guard. I went in thinking it was going to be your run-of-the-mill alien romance with the over-used captive women theme but it was so much more. Mina Carter definitely made this story her own and I was intrigued at how she made Cat and the other women strong badasses, yet feminine and vulnerable. It was perfectly balanced and I loved it. Tarrick, while a total alpha with his MINE looked at Cat as his equal despite the circumstances. The steam in this story was delicious. I loved the humor in here too...seriously laughed out loud several times.
Overall, if you like alien romances with steam, adventure and a badass heroine and possessive hero I would recommend this. My only problem with this story was I wish I had gotten an epilogue. I am unsure if I will pick up the others even though I want some other character's stories. My worry is it will not live up to this one. I really enjoyed this.

The 1 star is for the price: free
I love alpha male, but this was too much. I didn't even make it past chapter 3. When it was pointed out that dune women would be interested if they had approached in peace and without the threat of being sold to whore houses if they didn't choose one of his men and his response was "this is how it's done". I was done. "Consent" to be raped by one guy or be sold and raped by multiple guys. This is the basis of your book/series. I'm supposed to believe that there will be a HEA from this.

Did not finish. Sorry, the rape trope is so old. Can you introduce an alien species on good terms maybe? As rescuers instead of brutal conquerors? I just couldn’t take the slavery/rape and “hero is a major jerk” stuff by Chapter 4. Also disappointed the cover/online blurbs didn’t warn of the non consent content.

Cat Moore es la sargento de una estación espacial. Todo es normal hasta que son atacados por extraterrestres que vienen en busca de mujeres. Solo que lo que esos extraterrestres no se esperan es lo guerreras que son.
Tarrik ha estado buscando a la dueña de la voz que escuchó por primera vez hace un tiempo en comunicaciones espaciales. Cuando por fin la encuentra sabe que tiene que ser suya. Lo que no esperaba es la cantidad de cosas nuevas que va a descubrir.
Tarrik me encanta, ay gruñoncete 😍 igual que toda la tripulación. Y Cat también me cae bien, la única que soy un poco reticente es con Jena... No sé porqué pero me la imagino un tanto mayor por como la describen entonces su historia como que se me hará difícil de aceptar jajaja.
Pero siguiendo con los protagonistas de esta historia, me encantó al final Cat defendiendo a su hombre como toda una super heroína! 💪🏻 Y él gruñendo y casi dándole un ataque al corazón porque pensó que podría pasarle algo. Que monosssss 😍
En fin, que muy recomendada está historia, es cortita pero fenomenal. Puede encontrarse dividida en tres libros muy cortitos o los tres reunidos en uno, que es este.

I've been on a roll with stories about kick-ass women. Seriously kick-ass as in Marines with guns and things that go boom.
This is a nice variation of the "Mars needs women" trope, and these women don't give in. Yes, there is the fated-mate aspect, and the alien men are all huge, but the scene where the women rescue the males is priceless.
The writing could be a bit stronger and the book could be longer - as the first in the series, there is are a lot of people to introduce, plus all that scifi world-building. The ending is a nice alternative, creating a good foundation for the future stories.
I'll read the next one to see how everything evolves.

I really enjoyed this book. It was exactly what I needed and wanted it to be. It was a fast-paced, to the point, alien romance with an intriguing new system and world to follow. I’m interested in continuing the series and diving deeper into this world and the Latharian race.

Book One: Captured by the Alien Lord
War Commander Tarrick K'Vass has searched the Galaxy for the mysterious woman whose voice he heard on an intercepted unidentified radio transmission. Her voice has haunted not only his dreams but also his every waking moment and he's determined to search the entire galaxy to locate her. When he does find her, it's not only the shock of his life, but also what very well may be the hope for which his people have long searched. He not only finds beautiful Sgt. Cat Moore on the remote space station, Sentinel Five, but also a new race called humans and their women, surprisingly, seem to be sexually compatible with the Letharian warrior race! What? Now, all he has to do is capture her, conquer her, win her heart and mate her! Huh? Oh my! Capturing her may have been easy but conquering her and the other human females is much more difficult than Tarrick and his warriors could ever have imagined. Before Cat can formulate a plan of escape for her and her fellow prisoners, a rival Letharian war clan leader, Commander Varish T'Laat, arrives to throw his hat in the ring and demands that the woman be turned over to him or he will destroy Tarrick's ship, the Velu'vias, and the four other ships in his invasion force. What the heck? But stealing the human women from Tarrick's ship may just be the biggest mistake Varish has ever made because the lovely, dainty females may not be as helpless as they appear. Cat realizes quickly that the enemy she knows is much better than the cruel Commander T'Laat. And Tarrick soon discovers that his little 'Moore Cat' is not only a warrior herself but also quite an intelligent little Hell-Cat! Let the battle begin!

The battle has been won and the women are now safely back on board the Velu'vias. Tarrick and his Lethar warriors are all stunned by the women's military strategy and fighting skills by securing their own freedom and helping to defeat Varish. But the biggest surprise of all is when Tarrick wakes up the morning after the battle with mating marks covering his wrists and body! Oh my! He's bonded with his little "Moore Cat". What? How is that even possible? And now Emperor Daaynal wants to meet and "examine" the human earth women. Oh yes! And why, you ask? Well, earth females just may be the saviors of the Lethar race! Huh? Oh my glory! Buckle up my lovelies cause here we go again!
The story is told from dual alternating points of view by the two primary characters and is also well written, fast paced, exciting, thrilling, riveting, action-packed, humorous, romantic, arousing, seductive and sensual. The characters are captivating, intriguing, engaging and sexy as sin. Yowza! Handsome, sexy, serious, alpha alien war commander who also happens to be a prince and finds himself hopelessly in lust and love with a small human female-check! I understand why this book was free on Kindle. No one in their right mind would ever pay money to read this book.
Let’s start with the female lead: Cat Moore.
I hate her.
She falls into that awful YA category of women who are ‘strong’, ‘independent’, ‘skilled in thirty-eight forms of martial arts and weapons’, but still somehow need a man to save them. She and most of the women in her crew are kidnapped by aliens who just want to rape her and her friends, and then once she sleeps with him, scratch that, he rapes her, she’s all cool with being kidnapped.
‘Oh but she wanted to do it so it wasn’t rape’
Stfu in the book after she was raped she literally told him she was only like that because of the dugs she was given, which means I can assume she was not in her right mind when she slept with him. Meaning he raped her.
Some of the other women hold their own protests, starving themselves, and such which is actually reasonable. But Cat is built different. Being raped by an alien is all fine and dandy, but drugs is where she draws the line. Gotcha, good to know where the line is.
The stockholm syndrome kills me as well. He saves her once from another kidnapping and then she’s absolutely head over heels for him. (I should note that I am only referring to the alien love interest as ‘him’ because I can't remember his name and I finished the book not 5 minutes ago. That tells you how memorable any of it was.)
Oh but why were the women kidnapped and raped you may ask? Because these aliens have no women. And what few they have are dying out. So they have to rape and pillage their way to survival of their species. Some races deserve to die out, and this group of aliens deserves to die. And that little blip at the end with a hopeful glimpse at a change in their culture was immediately silenced with a shoot out. Not joking.
The women side characters were slightly better. They actually had personalities other than feisty but submissive. Some of them actually knew what they were doing and I admit, I enjoyed the scene where Jane (I think that was her name) was shooting and blowing up aliens. That was sorta fun.
I liked when they were around, until they started being treated as children as the aliens. I’m not joking, that was what they were literally referred to as in the book once or twice. They became gossipy and giggly and suddenly all wanted to get railed by the aliens. That is not how that works unfortunately. If I was in their shoes, I would still be mad as all get out at being kidnapped even though I was no longer in a cell.
The culture of the alien race was interesting I suppose. Pretty baseline with a race of aggressive men and submissive women. There was literally nothing else that told me they were supposed to be alien. All the book said about it was that ‘they looked human, but bigger’. If you’re going to give me aliens, make it weird. Give me tentacles, fur, multiple arms and legs, grotesque figures, things that feel alien-like. Being told they were just extremely big and buff humans took me out of the book and out of the world.
I honestly cannot remember any of the end of the book. I was rushing it and it got to the point I was constantly looking at the page numbers going: ‘When will it be over’?
If this was your cup of tea, go wild on this and the seventeen other books, but this was 100% not for me. I regret reading this. I need to go read something actually good now.

Tarrick and Latharian Warriors have captured a earth space station. There race needs women that they can procreate with. There female populations has died off. They find 4 Military women on the station and take them back to the planet Lathar. Tarrick has tracked his bond mate from hearing her voice through space. Once he has Sargent Cat Moore he mates her very quickly. They make a hot couple.
The short story is full of action and lots of erotic sex. All in all it was a pretty good story!!

This book was so bad, pissed me the hell off that I stopped reading at 51%. I should have looked at the 1-star reviews on Amazon but no, sci-fi and alien romance is my jam but this was revolting, repulsive garbage. I'm not even censoring spoilers because f this. If you're going to write about "soldier" women, make it make sense. They get captured and they're cowering immediately? I mean at least the others went on hunger strikes and tried to rebel somehow but the main character was absolutely PATHETIC and I couldn't stand her. "I won't make it easy" or "I won't go down without fighting" bitch where? She slapped him once and called it quits. Didn't even go off at him for drugging and taking her consent! He literally said to the women either fuck my warriors or be sold into whorehouses, and I'm supposed to believe his people "prizes" women and "treat you well"?? There's apparently another species that can breed with them and give them lots of sons in one go, but of course it's the puny humans they want.
I am sick and tired of authors writing women as brainless, hormonal walking wombs and vaginas that are only good for one thing and melt at the slightest hint of an attractive male. I read fantasy and sci-fi to escape the shitty reality we live in. I do not want to read about women being forced and raped and written as "soft cunts" whose sole purpose is to "comfort" men. I also do not want kidnapping, coercion, manipulation and force to be written as "flattering" like that main female character said. If you love 'Adult' steamy reads with strong female leads and have 'Not' read a Mina Carter book, you are missing out!
Cat and Tarrick are great MC's. Cat is smart, and snarky with a strong mind and personality. Tarrick is a hot, sexy Alien & proves he is intelligent as he adapts, along with Cat.
The heroine and the other human females show the Lathar's just how badass than can be! The tables turn in that the Lathars are amazed and captivated by the females. The Lathar men become a bit awkward around the women trying to impress them. Enormously funny!
I only found 2 typos towards the end of the story. Other than that, it is wonderfully written and fast paced.
A great read filled with humor and steam. The MC's are very likable and easy to connect to. Great world build. And supporting characters that add to the story and make you want
'MORE'!
There are areas that will make you laugh yourself silly, cheer the women on, and swoon with steamy heat!

The females are small and thus weak-thus stupid, and these warriors will assert their right to have which ever one takes their fancy in their bed. But amongst the h's fight to not fall for the demanding Warlord an even bigger bad Alien comes along (and instead of forced seduction these new guys are totally different and will just take what they want without wearing the women down first)
So the women are now on team 1st Alien and think they aren't so bad, and will now give mating to the Warriors a try. At that point I kinda gave up.

Some intruiging hints at world building, but I could have used more — drop the blood purity thing in sooner, and explain the significance of warrior braids
We also skipped straight from Reluctantly Horny to Fully In Love a bit too quickly to be believable. The falling in love is the part I want to see! I feel cheated.
I did really like how the aliens underestimated the human women at every turn, and watching them realize what badasses they’d captured.

A group of alien warriors invade an Earth space station, looking for compatible women and capture more then they bargained for. Each book focusses on one warrior and his mate while furthering an underlying long reaching arc. Quick fun reads.

Read it like a fun little space novella and didn't find myself disappointed. Obviously, it lacks intricacy, but it isn't mindless mumble jumble, and rather presents itself nicely with depth a level just below the surface.

I am not buying this book again but here are my reviews from the three installments.
1 - CAPTURED BY THE ALIEN LORD
Good plot but I struggled with the content re, accept my advances or become a slave or whore.
Yes I understand the whole alien culture being different and I can't say I would have done anything different if I was in that position.
Just way to short to do it justice.
1.1 - SAVED BY THE ALIEN LORD
3.5 stars. This continues on from book 1.
Cat and the other women show the K’Vass Lathar what they are made of when the T’Laat Lathar arrive and steal the human women. The women manage to get hold of weapons and give the T’Laat a good hiding.
Cat and Tarrick come to a mutually agreeable compromise on their future.
1.2 - BONDED TO THE ALIEN LORD
Even though this is book three it is really the end of Cat and Jakkar’s story. We do get lots of interaction with all the other characters we have met.
We find out more about the Lathar, their way of life, beliefs and who they are as individuals. We also find out about their belief in mates and mating marks.
