This story-arc completes the previous battle as we get a bit more insight on the final part of Joko's origin story and how he uses his ultimate skills to laugh his way out of trouble. This volume also dives straight into the next battle where we finally see Lyserg and his transformation as he joins the X-Laws. His battle also forces the hands of their leader Iron Maiden Jeanne who makes a dramatic and bloody entrance while explaining her plan for the world.

What else? the tournament has begun and the fights are on and we continue and finish the fight from the last one and we learn the rest of Joco's story and Lyserg returns as part of X-Law's team. This was another wonderful addition to the story and let's see how it goes and then just Keep on Reading.

I have always loved comics, and I have I can. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and hope always to love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.

Yoh Asakura not only sees dead people, he talks and fights with them, too. That’s because Yoh is a shaman, a traditional holy man able to interact with the spirit world. Yoh is now a competitor in the “Shaman Fight,” a tournament held every 500 years to decide who will become the Shaman King and shape humanity’s future. Soon after their arrival at the Patch village, Yoh-kun and his friends see the Great Spirit itself and stand in awe of its limitless power before spitting up into teams of three to compete in the tournament proper. Yoh-kun joins forces with Ryu and Faust VIII and Ren and Horohoro find a new ally in Joco, a skilled shaman who wants to make it as a comedian. Unfortunate, they’re facing off against three of Hao’s minions right off the bat... and they’re going to have to fight as hard as they can if they don’t want to be eliminated!

Ever since Amazon linked up with comiXology, so that readers could get comics, graphic novels and manga on their kindles, I have been meaning to check out what they had. Under Amazon Prime Reading you get a number of titles for free and this comiXology original is one such series.

The epic saga continues with Ren's three man team up first in the knockout tournament to see who will progress in the Shaman Fight. Their opponents are Hao's minions so it is a tough test for them. Meanwhille, Lyserg is still missing in action leading to Yoh adding Faust to his team, despite Faust's previous attack on Manta during the preliminaries. Can Ren's team come out victorious? What has happened go Lyserg and who has he teamed up with? Can "Wooden Sword" Ryu control his emotions?!

Easy to read and engaging, I enjoyed this and it felt just like reading a paperback manga, even on Kindle, as you have to click through the book backwards. A nice little touch. A solid 4 stars again as the story is progressing to a tense finale.

The Shaman Fight has begun and the battles are nonstop as Yoh and his team meet Lady Jeanne, one of the holy shaman that lives a tortured life - by choice?! Takei lets his heroes and antagonists run loose with this exciting entry to the "Shaman King" series. Could pain truly be the reason behind the strength within Lady Jeanne?

Shamash is cool in its first appearance, but otherwise this volume isn't much of anything. Chocolove had basically already won the fight against BoZ and Peyote last volume, so the continuing chapters here just prolong the victory, ending with Chocolove passing out and Ren defeating Peyote with a final attack. The weight of Lyserg's defection isn't really felt by the reader, since he seems a little shocked at Jeanne's brutality, and, again, he barely had time to grow on us as a friend of Yoh's. Additionally, his attacks against the Egyptian guys consist of little more than swinging his pendulum around, with no neat tricks like the Big Ben thing from before.

The only real "upside" is Morphin refusing to kill the one guy, proving Lyserg isn't a total dickwad like the main X-Laws, but, again, we never had any reason to think he'd truly become a bad guy.

Jakie? Nie wiem, bo nie powiedzieli.

Ah, nie przypadł mi do gustu ten tom. Z ww. powodów i faktu, że wydarzenia parł do przodu a wyjaśnienia i powody prawie się nie pojawiły.

the vampire shaman was really cool + we meet the x-laws!
and we get to know the major players here and teamed up, I'm not a fan of how those teams turned out tbh
idk the iron maiden character seems so cool, her whole tortured princess theme
tbh the northern team arc was bring. just yoh's team flexing
BUT we finally saw hao's true power

This volume is 50/50 for me. The first half was the first battle of the next stage in the tournament. First up was Ren's team but we got a little more into Joco's background, and then got to seem him in action. Now his character isnt bad but he can be over the top at times and sometimes that gets old. The second half was action packed with the X Laws up next. But the very best part of this volume was the bonus story it was heartfelt.

The Joco flashback that was unfinished in volume 13 comes to a conclusion in this volume. After that we see the leader of the X-Laws is revealed and it comes as a bit of a surprise to the reader! I felt this volume was another solid entry by Hiroyuki Takei and the story progresses with some cool lines by some characters and battles that seem to go back-to-back in this book. Action packed might be an understatement, but the story is progressing.

It was disappointing at the beginning, Joco’s backstory is only one chapter here and it could’ve been way sadder if they fleshed it out more. Lyserg got cooler which is great. But Kurapika vibes from him now. Jeanne is an interesting villain so we’ll see how that progresses. Yoh is becoming more Hao like and it’s weird how no one really is addressing it.

This volume was super fun and interesting.
We get some new characters, some others get a nice development, there is action and all!
LOVED IT! I really REALLY liked the "Iron Maiden" too! She is probably my most favorite character, so far!

The battle between Joco and Hao's minions comes to a close, allowing for interesting characterisation towards his character. Following that is a battle with the X-Laws, getting more of an insight into their organisation, beliefs, and even their leader. Another excellent volume in this series.

En este volúmen puede experimentar desde la tristeza, felicidad, y rabia. Pero me dejo con muchas ansias de saber que sucederá en el volúmen 15.🤔

Finally, tournament starts properly.
Joco backstory and the how and why he fights is amazing.
Ren also kicks ass.
X-Laws appears, in an intimidating way, with all hypocrisy.

Unjust puppets. Justice can be brutal. Some shuffling of positions. Lots of torture.

In this volume You and the gang encounter the ruthless X-Laws and the viciousness of Lady Jean and the Iron Maiden.
The violence kicks up a notch in this one!

We see the resolution of the first battle of the Shaman Fight, and we learn a lot about Joco's background. It's effectively mixed into that first battle and works really well. Then in the second half we see the re-emergence of Lyserg as a character and the first battle fought by the X-Laws, one of the major groups at the fight.

Takei does a fantastic job of mixing character with action as he intermixes flashbacks that explain who these people are with sharp combat in the arena.

I just got into this series. Couldn't find number one at the library, but am finding the series to be a little cheesy.

There's one character in particular that I hate the most, Manta. I hate him because he's about as tall as a ruler, he has an abnormally large head and he won't shut up.

There's another character I don't like either, Ryo, but that's because of his obnoxious hairdo. If you check out this book, you'll see exactly what I mean.

This book is volume 14 of a series. It is about a fight using ghosts as allies. The characters who are fighting in the arena are Joco and Ren against two villains. They beat them up and then they witness as a group delivers the ultimate justice towards another group by brutally murdering them. What I wonder now is, can justice be served with violence?

These tournament fights have brought more battles and excitement to the series. Joco finishes his fight and wins to fight again later. Next battle is Lyserg and the X-Laws against their opponents. They win because they have the freakiest girl on the team.

Overall, one of the better books I've read in the series in a while.
