She was always meant to be my property. That’s why I kidnapped her.

After the Bonifacios' betrayal, there isn’t much left of their family - just three beautiful daughters, one for me, one each for my brothers. I killed the rest.

Lucia is my unwilling victim, the object of my desire, and the captive I will break before she can run away.

She’s afraid of me with good reason.

I don’t go easy on anyone, least of all spoiled little mafia princesses who think they can order me around.

I don’t have mercy for her, and she has no love lost for me.

But when foreboding clues start to arrive, I realize there’s someone out there who wants to hurt Lucia more than I do.

And I’m never going to let that happen.

Ruthless Romeo is the first book of a mafia romance series following two families - the Cavettis and Bonifacios. This is a dark romance with disturbing themes.

*ETA: The author was kind enough to let me know there is a prequel to this story that I missed, so after reading it I’ve edited my review and bumped it up to 4 stars

This was a great mafia romance that starts off with a bang and keeps the momentum going through the course of the story. It was sexy and action packed and had great characters. I love arranged marriage mafia stories and this one was a good one. Lucia and Romeo’s attraction is intense and they had a lot of chemistry. Throw in some family drama and secrets and interesting side characters, and you have a mafia romance that will suck you in.

I enjoyed the blooming romance between the h and H. The writing was good. The suspense was great and the sex scenes were too. I liked that there was no cheating or OW drama, no tedious references to the H's past sex life. Im looking forward to the brothers' stories, they look like they will be interesting

This started off rocky but was surprisingly good!

I found out once I finished that there was a prequel to this novel and I feel like it should have been in this story. My biggest detractor from this is that it started with the heroine already in captivity with no context. I would have liked to see how we got there without having to read a prequel first.

However!! Once I pushed through and got into it, I was fascinated by it. I really liked seeing our Hero grow and fight his instincts and become a "better" man for his wife. I say it with quotation marks, because these are still Mafia men after all.

I really liked the angst and the dominating bits, I may have almost DNF'd this, but it ended up being a 4 star read and I plan to continue with Marcellos books.

This is the first book of the series.... it is Romeo's and Lucia's book. Romeo is the oldest son of the Cavettis mafia clan and Lucia was born a Bonifacio. These two clans hate each but for some reason these two young people are do to get married.

It was a good book but there were plenty of errors.... such as on the same page it says she is to go later to the doctor and then she tells Romeo that she will talk to him the next day after her doctors appointment.

The story line is brutal. Romeo seeks revenge because the Bonifacios murdered his brother Gianni. Romeo goes in with his brothers to the Bonifacios home where he murders the parents, the staff and kidnaps the 5 kids, Lucia her 2 sisters and 2 brothers. In an act of cruelty, he separates all the kids, he keeps the sisters locked up each in a room where they have no interaction except for the maid, and whichever Carvetti brother that is lusting after them and using them for sex. The brothers are tortured and Antonio the eldest dies. The current Carvetti don, Romeo's father is an evil horrible cruel man and even after Romeo removes the surviving brother and keeps him locked up in a room, he goes back and drags him back to the basement and continues torturing him. His cruel behavior continues throughout the book. However, on Romeo's wedding day to Lucia Gianni shows up alive and with a murderous plot.

I know the Mafia is unemotional, cruel and horrible but I expected some kind of redemption. Romeo nor his family ever redeem themselves for the murder and torture of Lucia's family. The characters did not grow or had the depth I expected and was looking for. I could not connect to her either, she forgave Romeo far too easily and they never had a discussion about his role in her family’s murders. I also did not feel the love or chemistry. While Romeo does fall in love with Lucia and loses some of his cocky attitude, and cruelty, I never felt that he actually grew as a person and learned the value of human life, family and love, just changed towards Lucia but even then she is still scared of him after their marriage and he has to do a blood oath that he will never hurt her again. They never release the remaining siblings either and they remain captive even though they seem to be treated better. The end of the book feels unfinished.

Cold and brutal from start to finish - no heart, no redemption 😢
I am a fan of this author but this story left me cold. I get it’s mafia and I get it’s ruthless but there was no heart just brutality - it left me cold and very unhappy when I finished. SPOILER THROUGHOUT: The story follows Romeo who is devastated after his brother is murdered by the Bonifacios so they murdered innocents; they killed the Bonifacios parents, the staff and kidnapped five children which included Lucia, her 2 sisters and 2 brothers. In an act of cruelty, he separates all the kids, he keeps the sisters locked up each in a room where they have no interaction except for the maid, and whichever brother feels like raping. This made me sick to my stomach. The brothers are tortured and the eldest dies so they continue torturing the youngest brother again, made me sick! This book was so beyond brutal there was no story to latch on to. In the end Romeo brother is alive yet they did nothing to amend for what they did. It has no heart or redemption. I was very disappointed as I have read this author’s stories from the beginning.

DNF

This book was a DNF for me. I'm all for dark stories, but this was crazy ridiculous. The virgin h gets all worked up when the "H" spanks her after slaughtering her family? Then, she watches her brother die and then goes and has sex, lol? Who comes up with this crap?

3 GOOD Star Kindle Unlimited Read

Author Raven Scott brings us a new mafia series to devour The Cavettis and the Bonifacios. However, book one (1) Ruthless Romeo is not your typical over the top romance where the mobster is a warm marshmallow underneath. No this is a harsh and cruel telling.
“You will stop fighting me, Lucia, or I will use this knife to gut you.”
However, something felt off in the beginning, like I was missing some part of the story. Come to find out in the end that there is a prequel called Cruel Romeo. However, other than reaching the end of the book there is no evidence that a prequel even exists. Unfortunately, for some reason the author chose not to include in the book. I suggest picking this up from book funnel before reading. It will enhance the reading giving you better understanding as to how the family is already in captivity.

Beaming at me with sheer joy, he scooted up to my bed so he could wrap his arms around my shoulders. Then, as soon as I embraced him back, he burst into sobs. I held him as his body shuddered and shook, releasing all the things he’d been keeping at bay. It poured out of him without pause, unfettered and messy, and the noise of it drew our famiglia’s attention. I watched as one by one they went by the door, clear relief on their faces when they saw me but showcasing a variety of reactions when they caught sight of Romeo. Surprise from my brother Giorgio. Sympathy from my sisters Chiara and Alessandra. Awkward unease from Romeo’s brother Marcello. And shocked disbelief from both his brother Savio and his sister Natalia. Tears in my own eyes, I waved briefly at all of them in turn, knowing I would need individual moments with many of them, but observing the recognition from them that now wasn’t the time. They were bearing witness to an intensely intimate moment between a man and his wife, and all of them, without exception, departed to give us the time we needed.

Lucia's.soul was pure lightness in the beginning. Romeo's soul was stained from childhood and that grew into darkness with his first kill. By the end, Lucia needed a touch o Rome's darkness. The lightness of Luciana soul and endearing love for Romeo, bright light to his dark soul. He could not be who he is without his darkness. However, being eclipsed with Lucia's lightness made him to want to be a better man, husband, and father to Lucia.

The book end with a sort of cliffhanger in discovering where the personal maid was hidden. However I enjoyed the first installment enough to continue with the second installment of The Cavettis and the Bonifacios in Twisted Marcello.

Ruthless Romeo

First book to be read by the authors Emma Vikes and Raven Scott. I'm not quite sure what to make of this, the man your in love with murdered your parents, you allow him to use you, your brother is murdered and 5 minutes later you're giving him your virginity? In my opinion it really didnt start getting good until 34% into the book. Also how it was written, it just seems alot was left out. Like in one sentence Lucia and romeo discovered they're pregnant. In the next sentence like 4 months of the pregnancy went by, it just threw me. I do look forward to hearing about Lucia's siblings

This is the beginning of The Cavettis and the Bonifacios Series. If you like dark mafia romances, this books for you. Be warned this is a dark book with some triggers that might upset some. This is Romeo's story and follows his life. After his brother was murdered by the Bonifacios he took matters into his hands and took them out. He also kidnapped their children. The brothers were tortured and the girls raped. This book was a little too dark for me but it was well written and had a good flow. This book is amazing. I could not put it down. This is the first book that is about two powerful families and an arranged marriage between Romeo and Lucia. This would bind these two families together forever. However a misunderstanding leads to murder and the siblings are taken and held captive and that's what it has to be as far as Romeo is concerned to get his mafia princess. You guys will love this book Don't miss it

Romeo is next in line to become Don of the Carvetti Family, his father is hard and his punishments are harsh.

Lucia is the oldest daughter of the Bonifacios Don, and promised to Romeo as his wife, but things take a turn for the worse and people are killed.

Lucia is locked in a room in the Carvetti mansion and has missed feelings towards Romeo, she hates him but also her body is attracted to him, he does things to her that she never thought possible.

Can Romeo stand up to his father and can he and Lucia make a go of their arranged marriage.

I enjoyed this book, it kept you wanting to know what happened next.

Great start to a new dark mafia series! Romeo is the heir to the Cavetti family and he plans on marrying Lucia as it was arranged. He must kidnap her when plans go wrong. What happens when sparks begin to fly between them. Lots of depth, drama and suspense. Great characters, lots of emotion and steamy chemistry. I loved it.

*sigh*
The prequel held so much promise for this - dark and gritty and possessive Romeo - but this was so fucking boring, I couldn’t get through it. There was so much unnecessary detail and explanation of wealth and what the rooms looked like. And the heroine was so fucking stupid.
Ughh it had so much potential!
Don’t waste your time, just read the prequel and create your own HEA.

Surprised I finished Ruthless Romeo because let be honest their was nothing Ruthless about Romeo the book fell flat from beginning to end. The high points made no sense at all. I won’t be continuing the series as I am not the least bit interested in what happens between the other siblings.

Hmm

Crap ending. Very abrupt, with entirely too much unfinished business, with no follow up. Fairly decent story line, however. Is this a series?.

A wonderful strong Mafia plot from which true love grows from the cruellest circumstance

Romeo and Lucia had been going to marry and they and known each other for many years and they had sworn a blood oath to each other to be honest and they had been happy until the day her world came crashing down and her future husband had heled kill her father, mother and sibling the rest of them had then been taken prisoner.

Lucia had not been able to understand what had happened and why did they believe her father was responsible for their eldest brother death, why did Romeo hold her responsible and how could he be so cruel. She knew that her younger twin sisters had been taken prisoner along with her two brothers but even she could not imagine what horrors they were experiencing.

Romeo and his two brothers knew that their father was ruthless and that he enjoyed killing and was proud of the way his father and grandfather had built up their family and now since the murder of Lucia’s parents his wealth and standing in the Mafia have grown experientially.

As the months passed and Romeo and Lucia had come to n understanding he found the woman he believed to be so delicate had a will of iron when her siblings were in danger, he respected her bravery and her family loyalty it was unknown to him as his family was not as loyal to each other.

As you read this book you will see the way the relationship between the two main characters changes and she teaches Romeo what it is to love and to be loved, when they come under threat from an unexpected source it makes them reassess what their lives would be without each other.

I am looking forward to the next book in this wonderful series of book so that I can discover what is going to happen with the remaining twins and the other two brother who are currently caring for Lucia’s sisters.

I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

Ruthless Romeo is the first book of the mafia romance series following two families - the Cavettis and Bonifacios. This is a dark romance with disturbing themes. This is Romeo and Lucia story. It's raw, gripping, dark and heartwrenching. The characters are complex and multifaceted. The story is revenge driven with many key players. It grabs you from the first chapter and keeps you on rollercoaster ride with nonstop drama, danger, violence, hatred, betrayal, lust, action, passion, carnage, anger, madness, murder, lies, pain, bloodshed, losses, unexpected twists and turns, deception, secrets, enemies-to-lovers, hate-to-love, captor/captive, torture, betrayal, retaliation, kidnapping, rape, survival, arranged marriage, spanking, dominance, fear, submission, sadness, chaos, surprises, misunderstandings, heartbreak, steam, love and so much more.
The story was intriguing, fast paced, pulse-pounding and definitely mind-blowing. Romeo Cavettis and Lucia Bonifacios were engaged to be married in a blood oath. However, the Cavettis boys thought that the Bonifacios betrayed them by killing their brother Gianni. Romeo always thought that Lucia belong and since they were engaged that she was his property so he didn't have a problem kidnapping her. They stormed the Bonifacios home and did indescribable things to the household butchering the parents, maids, and kept three sisters for each of the the brothers and took the two brothers so that they can torture them for their sick fun and kicks. The entire Cavettis family is barbaric, evil, vile, and cruel starting from the top with Don Antonio who forced his son to marry a nineteen year old virgin in order to keep a blood oath and to get an heir. Romeo is no better than his father with his bullying, tormenting, cold-hearted, unyielding, brutal self. They separate siblings from each other and physical abuse them to point where one loss his only to find out that Gianni was alive the entire time. He came back with a plot of vengeance on his heart. This story was very dark and I thought that the family would have changed and own up to the error of the their ways but they're rotten to the core with no hope of salvation.

Ruthless Romeo is a Mafia arranged marriage. Romeo’s family killed Lucia’s parents and took her and her siblings captive as retaliation of Lucia’s father killing Romeo’s brother. Romeo’s brother was the driving force in having the two families combined. Romeo was engaged with Lucia before all this happened. He had asked her took take a blood oath with him that she would always be honest with him. Romeo feels that she betrayed him because she didn’t inform him of the danger to his brother. She told him she didn’t know only a suspicion with no proof or solid evidence. Romeo planned on killing Lucia after torturing her for betraying him but he didn’t go through with it when he realizes that she enjoyed it when he administered a spanking and realized she could be compatible with his sexual preferences. Romeo thought that his engagement would be broken but his father insisted he go through with it so that the blood from the two families would be achieved through the birth of Romeo’s and Lucia’s children. Lucia was totally innocent in All ways especially with anything to do with sex. Romeo then decides to torture his soon to be wife by sexually frustration. He didn’t count on his reaction to her. Romeo thought that he was cold and had all his softness taken from him but he soon found out that Lucia can make him feel and he didn’t understand the emotions he feels. He just knew he didn’t like it. There is so much going on with Romeo and Lucia’s families. What will happen to Lucia and Romeo? That is the question. You will have to read Ruthless Romeo to answer that. If you have triggers I don’t recommend this book but if you like dark intense romances then I highly recommend this book. The sex scenes are hot dirty and explosive so if that is something you enjoy then you will definitely enjoy this book.

Something missing, but good start

I liked it overall and I’ll continue to read the second book in the series because I’m interested to see where the storyline will lead, but to me it feels like there’s just something missing somehow and that kept me from rating it higher.

I liked the characters and think they have a lot of potential but I think I just wanted more interaction between them as well as wished there was just more action overall and thought it needed more story set outside of her bedroom. It felt like most of the plot was played out in only one single room and it felt like the interactions and story needed to be expanded somehow.

I still have some lingering questions regarding circumstances about one of the brothers and what really happened (you’ll understand once you read this book) that I hope and believe will be answered as the plot moves forward in the follow up books in the series. Also, I kept wondering about Romeo’s condition... it felt like there was something more to look into but it was just left unclear to me... I don’t want to go into detail lest I chance a spoiler.

I just felt a bit unsatisfied and it felt like too much was left unfinished in the end to me. Maybe that was done with purpose and we’re meant to wait for more details later in the series. But the next book will focus on a different set of characters so who knows? I hope all my questions will be cleared up and answered eventually.

Overall, it was good, but not great for me. However, it was a decent start for a series and I’m interested to continue and read more about the rest of the family and get more answers for the other the brothers and sisters.

Restrictions are amplified and exploited, laying out all the fervent facts, deals and fiascos, igniting a fierce protectiveness with such passion and intensity, blasting this jewel into a frenzy with a mind-blowing culmination. Stumbling through a minefield of perilous drama, intense intrigue, damning betrayal, chilling danger and electrifying suspense, maneuvering through the cunning manipulations and double dealing cabul with malevolent intent, blasting this jewel to life spectacularly. Tempting, tangled and tightly entwined, baring the vexing quirks and defying bents, putting our characters through their paces, testing them in ways they could have never envisioned. The magnetism, attraction and chemistry collides with such intensity, exposing deep emotions, drawing our characters closer binding them to one another perfectly. The characters, dialogue, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits, blend and flow, transforming into genuine outstanding personalities. I gave this book a three because the editing was good and the story had it's moments. Lucia and Romero's story was a cold brutal story from start to finish. The unexplained death of Romero's brother and the execution of Lucia'a family as a result only to have his brother show up on their wedding day alive and well and attempts to kill Romero and kidnap Lucia. Apparently no one in Romero's family saw how unhinged this guy was and no one questioned his untimely death blaming it on Lucia's father.

Romero's personality fluctuates throughout the book, especially while he is in prison to the point of exhaustion. Not once in the entire novel does Romero ever apologize for the unnecessary deaths of her father, mother and brother or the kidnapping of her and the other three siblings who are still held by this family at the end of this book.

Lucia's character goes from light to dark by the end of the book becoming as cold and calculating as the rest of the family. Romero becomes drug dependent because his horrible father refused to get him proper medical care when his brother shot him which leaves him with a bad hip and chronic pain. The book doesn't explain events well and skips around without fully giving the reader a solid story line or back story.

I have read many of these kind of books, some more darker and sinister than this one. The difference is that at some point in the story the character/or characters revealed a very important characteristic....they show some redeemable quality or qualities.

Ruthless Romeo is the first book in the series that follows two families - the Cavettis and Bonifacios. This is the story of Romeo Cavettis and Lucia Bonifacios. What was supposed to be an arranged marriage between two powerful Mafia families to cement them together instead ends up being something very different. There is a misunderstanding and before you can say "wait just a minute" the Cavettis have murdered the Bonifacios family. Well all except for the the children which include three beautiful daughters. The siblings are all taken to the Cavettis mansion and held captive. But Romeo wants his beautiful Mafia princess, Lucia, and he is determined he will have her any way that it takes.

This is the first book I have read by this writing duo but I have read several other books by both authors. So I was hoping that together they would release an interesting and savory dark Mafia series. They have hit quite a few of the marks with this book as it was delightful and very yummy in a lot of ways. But I did not like one main thing...Romeo and the way he treated Lucia. This is a man who is supposed to love and really crave her. Yet he threatens her life repeatedly all the while she is falling for him. Even with this though I still read the next book in the series, Twisted Marcello.

I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Romeo Cavetti will keep you glued to the book.
The book begins just a week after the events that occurred at the end of the previous “cruel Romeo”, with a Lucia kidnapped and locked up with her brothers and sisters at the Cavetti mansion. Romeo thinks that she had something to do with the death oh his brother Gianni, and although he is undecided about what to do with her, he still wants her. He gives in to his desires and for weeks before their wedding he sleeps with her. When the big day comes, nothing is a planned, many unexpected surprises that will mark the fate of the characters.
I’m dying to know how the story continues.

🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫

A dramatic twist to this story that will surprise and shock you!
by sewsummore

Lucia and Romeo were engaged to be married; it was an arranged marriage to cement an alliance between two mafia families. Then, it all went to hell, with the assassination of Romeo's brother by Lucia's family. In retaliation, Romeo killed both of Lucia's parents and took captive her twin sisters and two brothers. You would think that this would be an end to the proposed marriage, but it did not. The alliance was to go ahead by order of Romeo's father. At first, Romeo was angry, but that did not last. Romeo had been looking forward to his marriage until his brother's death. When his anger lessened, he realized that he still wanted Lucia. I found this book an exciting read with characters to whom I could relate. Lucia was an innocent young woman protected from the harsh reality of mafia life, yet when Romeo showered her with gifts and began to teach her about her body, and it's responses, she could not help but respond to his care. This book contains a dramatic twist in the storyline that I never saw coming. It blew me away and changed the entire storyline of the book. If you get the chance to read this book, do so! You will be surprised and shocked by the outcome.

Somehow I remembered I had a book called “Cruel Romeo” sitting in my kindle. I mean, I was kinda confused for a second before realizing it was the prequel. The prequel was really good. The whole butterfly thing was intriguing. Who knew I would end up so disappointed by the actual book.

The romance was so unconvincing. The build up to the love was unconvincing. It wasn’t until they were actually supposedly in love that I was convinced. If that even makes sense. Romeo’s character just completely flipped; I didn’t believe it. But maybe... maybe the soft boi had always been him and the monster was a facade? Soft mafia boys... they just hit differently. It’s strange.

This book felt like it would’ve/should’ve ended at so many places. Imagine my surprise when it kept going. And when I didn’t expect it—BAM, the ending. Bruh.

2.5 I-really-like-all-the-brother’s-names stars.

Romeo. Marcello. Savio.

Yum.

Lucia... sigh. Listen, lady. This asshole killed your father in front of you with no hesitation. But instead you wanna fuck him? Huh. I think this book pushes the idea of “fate” too hard.

“uHHh rOmeO aND lUciA aRe fATed aNd tHaT’s WhY yOu bEinG sO unConviNceD iS okAy.” I dunno if they had the connection at the beginning. I didn’t feel it. But I felt it later on after they got together for real.

This book grabbed my attention from the first page and I couldn't put it down until I finished it. I was surprised how much i enjoyed the book. This story is about the Cavettis and Bonifacio mafia families and their agreement for the engagement and arranged marriage between Romeo Cavettis and Lucia Bonifacio. As you read you will encounter action, adventure, murder, confusion, family loyalty, trust & hate, plots, Mafia violence, and, of course, romance.

While the Cavettis family is working at understanding the Bonifacio's infrastructure, network, facilities, accounts and financial books, Romeo and Lucia were getting to know each other. They were building a relationship and a strong bond before they realized it. This book gives you an insight to the mafia's families first borns, whether they are boy or girl, as what is expected of them as they grow up to the family, now and the future.

I received a free copy of this book for an honest review. I would recommend this book to anybody who enjoys organized crime, mafia romance, action and adventure romance books. This is a great start to a new series.
