Dragonriders are all that stand between Middang3ard and total annihilation.

But their numbers are dwindling.

With every passing day, more and more Dragonriders are falling under the scourge of the Dark One.

The forces of humanity and their allies are desperate. They need a new hero to step up and turn the tide.

Myrddin, the resistance’s leader, thinks he might have found that someone…on Earth, of all places.

Word has just come from the east that the Dark One is launching his largest assault yet, but there is still time to stop him. If, that is, they can find someone good enough to take him on.

Alex Bound just might be the rider they need.

But a human has never been accepted as a Dragonrider.

Let alone a blind human...

Alex isn’t someone to step away from a fight.

Not now, not ever, and she has no plans to start—even if she needs to ride a real dragon to make it happen.

Reads like a book report written on the due date

Two stars for good characters. One more for a good attempt at worldbuilding. Beyond that, this series does not deliver.

Needed a consistency editor, badly. Grammer and such were fine, just details that needle you. I could pretend in was Deep Self Reflection in a series that leans hard on the mutibility of memory, I suppose, but given the train wreck at the centre of the series I can't imagine it was actually deliberate.

On to the train wreck:

There is tremendous buildup for the 'dragons in space' portion, which then was so riddled with impossibilities and limitations that were then overcome with no explanation (there's an a asteroid field next to the moon, did you know? One that is in no way affected by the earth's gravitational field, incidentally. Equipment that has been utterly destroyed can simply 'come back online' without a single justification - not even the threadbare 'because magic' that is used so lavishly elsewhere). My disbelief not only stopped being suspended, it gave up in disgust and walked home. I'm still pissed. Practically the only reason this isn't getting one star is that if I'm feeling that betrayed by the stupidity of that specfic book/section, I must have been feeling reasonably engaged up to that point. Which doesn't change the fact that these two are going on my never read again list.

So there you go. Reader beware, this is a nice little series with a huge hole in the middle that all your enjoyment may fall into.

A unique Dragon Rider story

This is a 13 book box-set. The authors are new to me. I love Dragon Riders stories do decided to give it a try. I found this to be a unique and interesting storyline. Middang3ard desperately needs a Dragon Rider hero to save not only that world but all of the nine realms from the Dark One who is capable of destroying entire worlds. They believe they found just that person, an earth girl, who happens to be blind. There are creatures of the Light, Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, Humans and of course Dragons. Then there are creatures of the Dark , Orcs, Goblins, Trolls and Drow. There is a mix of fantasy and science here, with battles, friendship, pain, terror, psychic attacks and telekinesis. Full of action and some cool plot twists. Oh, and lots of magic! This a Dragon Rider story but different from any I've read before...

Surprised me.

I’ve read other books by Anderle, but since this book was marketed as YA, I was really quite hesitant. But, since I didn’t have to buy it I thought I’d give it a go and I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it. A lot of action and adventure, and for a majority of the book I forgot how young the protagonist was supposed to be (she is mature beyond her years). There were some interesting characters, and I had a lot of fun following Alex’s adventures.

However, if you like you adventures to be wrapped up in a neat parcel, then be prepared for an interesting twist and a hook to pull you into the next part of an overarching story. Not sure if Alex is the protagonist in the next stage of the war, but I’ll check it out when I’m in the mood to read some more Sci-fantasy YA.

Fantastic series for all ages!!!!

This is a terrific Y/A dragon series! A bit of very mild swearing but nothing truly offensive. The main heroine Alex has been blind her whole life. Then she discovers a virtual reality game that's let's her see and she becomes a dragon rider! She becomes the best dragon rider in the game and is asked to come to a world where the game is real and a war to save the universe is being fought! She comes the first human dragon rider. This world is filled with elves, dwarves, pixies, dark elves and many other fantastic creatures. Come and follow the story of the teenagers who are fighting for the right side. Meet the team she becomes the leader of. Meet the great dragons they ride in this quest. Highly recommended for all ages!

What a name

Middang3ard, that's the name of the universe and you will spend a lot of time there. And I still did not want to leave. I read the full series , and know I am looking for more of this Middang3ard universe.
That makes it easy to give 5 stars. I really enjoyed reading these books. Just a FYI remember these are novellas,
There are a few errors. But easy to read over, biggest was mom's name changed in later book. That kind of screw up makes me crazy, and if I were giving stars out to individual books, that would of lost stars.
Otherwise it has dragons and colorful characters and was a cool read.
Check it out .

Written for 12 year olds.

Started with an interesting premise and then got confusing and jumpy and repetitive. Writing is set for the preteen crowd and introduces concept and such out of the blue with no explanations. Every book is basically the same as the last book with a few things changed. Whole thing could have been done is less then half the space and been a better series. Facts and concepts ruled by science are ignored or twisted to be confusing and incorrect (i.e., needing gravity to use bullets and missiles -- nope, you may need air and/or O2 but bullets and missiles woke BETTER without gravity). Not even remedial fact checking or proofreading/editing.

Circling the Drain

I like the premise of this story. It has some memorable characters and some interesting plot twists. Heh, who wouldn't want to see dragons in space? I do feel it has been circling the drain for a while though... i.e. not getting to the point. And I've never liked the Power Rangers' plot massacre of taking down the bad guy only to have him jump up bigger and badder.

I'm not saying that I'm not looking to read the next one, but if it circles the drain and keeps bringing back the bad guy repetitively, I won't be able to read the next one.

Impressive

I got caught up in the crazy and got discouraged with Boundless for a few minutes.... it was a very long few minutes, but then, the twists! OMG, the twists, woohoo! I love a challenge. Each twist drew me in further. Thank you for drawing me back in each time and upping the anti til I screamed at the screen in frustration. I then put my iPad down for three hours til I calmed and wanted to know the outcome. I was not disappointed. You made my week. Keep up the good work!

I call foul. The series started out great. All the different characters and all the battles. When it started to get all mental and physic, I kept telling myself it would get back to all the Boundless. It never really did. The way it ended, turned me completely. I'm not going to read another series, just to find out in the third book, what happened to everybody. I don't think I will read these authors again.

A good read, engaging and entertaining from 3-4% into the boxset. They were 13 short novels to be sure and by the length of the novels, the slant taken on character development and the long author notes section (chatty author…;-), I think teenagers are the target audience for this boxset. Personally, I enjoyed it as I skipped over the author notes, which allowed me to stay engaged in suspension of disbelief as my reading bled into the next short novel. Was worth the read bearing the above in mind…

Not a complete series

I am mad at myself because I read this series of chapters and was left hanging at the end. Not going to bother reading more chapters from the next series. I found this set very tedious at times, the constant angst of the characters, no resolution to winning in the end against the bad guy they were originally started fighting, just some random alien inserted into the story.

It all in space...not just dragons!

Hooya!!! Out of this world adventure, action and.....no way can I include everything in this book in a summary! If you've read anything by these two, you will love this set....and will say, if you like Sarah K Wilson's Dragon School, Steel Dragon series of similar you will def love this one. Also worth looking at the other box sets in the Nine Realms series....that where I am going next :-D

It was ok

As all these books do, this one started with a bang, teeanage girl coming of age, having to prove herself. I read many of the books. Then the adventures became tedious. By the time they get to the Moon, I had lost ibterest. Something was missing. The characters were not growing or learning about themselves or developing.

Dragon team

I do enjoy dragons, i enjoyed the tale, it's well written and exciting.. Started off concerned entirely with one villain, it develops to be entertaining a new villain and the original baddie drops in once or twice to help the team....?!? Also the books are really not quite book size. I'd still read the next set.

Mostly OK

If you’re a gamer then this might be better than OK for you. For me, it reads like a progression of scenarios from an adventure game series. That’s not what I expect from a book series. The tone is YA, similar but not as good as that series with the wizards. I stopped at book 5 having lost interest and momentum.

I actually have part of chapter13 left to read. I've really have enjoyed these books. I kept wondering whether it was Remy or Michael who gave the input on this part of books. It was impressive how the used game participants to become Dragonriders or mech riders. I got a kick out of the the banter of the authors in the letter at the end of each book

Dang, this has been a fun set of books

Not going to give anything away but darn. This has been a good set. I'm glad it's a box set because of the speed I read. It's much more fun to pound through than to wait for each one to come out again. Not giving anything away, but if you like fantasy and science fiction, this fits the bill for both. What a kickass read

Great series. I read these books individually , but they're better in this complete series.

Good story

Started slow. If it wasn't a series I might have quit after the first volume. Then I began to believe the characters. As a compendium of 12 short books this held my interest.

Dragon Approved Complete Series Boxed Set

This young adult adventure series had me, a 76 year old grandmother, completely engrossed. I overlooked the geeky teenaged angst and just enjoyed the adventure and the characters, human and otherwise. Great collaboration!

Seriously good read

Well thought out with complete immersion into the realms. I recommend this set to all who enjoy leaving the mundane world for awhile. It is also team friendly and I will loan it to my daughters.

read 2 books and gave up, there should be a disclaimer here "written for young girls". I had enough of his cute ass, or she giggled, or I melted at his smile. sheesh On top of that the stories seem to just throw in stuff. Confusing, I found it not worth reading any longer after finishing book 2.

Enjoyed the combination of fantasy and virtual reality. The time an effort needed to get this level of smoothly combination was epic. Continue this methodology and I wii be a fan.

Enthralling!

I highly recommend this fascinating set of books, especially at this great price. I binged this in less than 2 days, and I'll be buying the next book asap. The characters are so endearing and their exploits are wildly thrilling. Enjoy!

I love binging on boxed sets.

I read the Dark Gate Angels series first. These books may predate it but have a different vibe. I like it. Lots of action! A continuity error lost it a star but it otherwise is well edited. I really liked the characters.

Quality confused.

Very confused story that tries very had to make the story more then it is. To convoluted and an over inflated and verbose writing style continually detracted from the pleasure of reading it.

What!!!

This ends on a very bad cliffhanger. Though the characters were all written. I liked the storyline but it is unfinished. The other books don't seem to come back to Alex and Chine. Hope they do.
