What a disaster.
The tsunami, that is, and the eruption as well. This book reads like a real life experience from the beginning. The characters are mainly scientists, and we get to know about their lives, as they investigate the concerning, changing readings from their equiptment on a Canary island. It is very descriptive of how things work, and trying to figure out what could happen. It is kind of long but interesting, not a fast read. There are a couple of gruesome, scattered deaths before the big boom, but most of the action is saved till the last part of the story. Reminds me of the movie Dante's Peak, which I loved. A very hard book to find but if you are into disaster books like me, you may like it.
