Alora, a god banished to Earth as punishment for rebelling against the tyranical ruler of Above, attempts living her new life as an average high school girl. But she never dreamed she'd encounter another deity, Rurik Cade. Despite wanting nothing to do with him at first, she begins developing feelings for the attractive and beguiling troublemaker. Trouble finds her as she struggles with the guilt of abandoning her brethren in Above, but relishing in the happiness she finds. Nonetheless, her past won't let her go so easily. After meeting another banished deity, they set a plan in motion to return to Above so they can exact their revenge. But there will be many bumps in the road, both human and non. And it is her duty to push forward for the good and safety of all she loves.

I enjoy this author's Instagram posts, and I decided to give her book a try despite the boring cover.
I was, however, pleasantly surprised. I ended up liking the story and the author's voice. I look forward to more books in the future.
