When you dislike one of the main characters, it’s better to call it quits.

I got the audiobook as part of a free giveaway, and I decided to give this new-to-me author a listen. The book is part of a small-town-romance series, and I was prepared to “meet” a few already established couples I didn’t know of.

I immediately liked Indy the sweet baker who smelled like cinnamon. Whom I immediately disliked was Tate, the twin brother to the fiancé to one of Indy’s friends. I can’t even put my finger on why, but from what little I saw of him before I stopped reading, he was self absorbed and not very interested in people around him. I hate people like that.

On top of that, the female voices as narrated by Nick Hudson were whiny and obnoxious. Not a fan.

Calling it quits at around 15%, no rating.

I have enjoyed these books about Chester Falls so much. I hope this isn’t the end of them.

I love the way Ana Ashley writes. Her prose just flows across the page and before I know it I’m almost to the end. There is just a little bit of angst and a lot of romance and good feelings.

I couldn’t believe how much I loved Indy and Tate. The description of Indy is not what I consider sexy. I don’t think man buns are attractive, and I don’t care for blue hair. I don’t know somehow Ana made it work. And Tate, well Tate certainly is a sexy man. He’s a little frustrating, but you know it’s going to work out in the end.

I do suggest reading them in order starting with the novella. They all stand alone if not read in order, but since the same characters appear in each book, it’s like seeing old friends when the do.

We finally got Indy's book.
And Tristan and Ben's wedding.
It was really good, just as the others in this series. However, I was done with Tate so many times. I wanted to slap some sense into him. God knows he needed it.

Another dnf in a short time. This one made it to 50%.

Let's make a list. To finish a book I seem to need one of the following occurrences:
A mystery
Any kind of problem to be solved
An evil person getting what they deserve
A goal to be reached
Hope or longing of the romantic kind
This book is just people meeting and talking. Why should I want to finish this?

The whole 'my love interest does not believe in relationships' trope, is not mentioned for the first 50%, at which point the male, jaded, mature protagonist suddenly turns into a teenage girl and confesses to his love interest: 'all my childhood I was looking for someone who would love me,' and more of these emotional psychobabble.

Add to that an over the top family and I throw in the towel.

4.5 stars. Indy thought he had a nice catch with the dating app. When they meet Indy can’t believe his eyes, a slap on the face is what Tate gets. Misunderstandings, oh boy...
Tate can’t believe his eyes, the most gorgeous guy in the room is his date, until he gets a slap on the face. What is happening?

Indigo owns Spilled Beans and he is the one who bakes the most delicious cupcakes and cinnamon buns everyone talks about.

Tate doesn’t do relationships, as a divorce attorney, he saw so many couples split and there are more reasons. He doesn’t believe in everlasting love.
His twin brother Tristan has other thoughts he will marry Ben, Indy’s best friend.
Both Indy and Tate are their best men. There even a bachelor's weekend in Vegas!

Indy and Tate give in and have a hot steamy time, just for the time being of course.
Indy can’t stand all the endearments rolling from Tate’s mouth, they hurt, knowing Tate doesn’t commit.

I loved this story, it had all the feelings, it was endearing and hot, it had a nice bit of hurt, and a lot of pleasure time and, someone has to overcome deep-rooted ideas.
All quite nicely done! The backing part were awesome and delicious! The circle of friends had a hand in the turn of events and also a bit of their own side story. Tate and Indy are very lovable characters. The feelings displayed were convincing. The author did a great job, a great engaging way of writing and storytelling!

I can see why people enjoy this series. The characters are interesting, and Ana Ahsley has built a nice world around Chester Falls. How to Catch a Bachelor is the first book I've read in this series, and I had no trouble following the story.

The audio is performed by Nick Hudson who does a nice job. There's a lot of humor in this one, and Mr. Hudson takes advantage and makes the most of it.

I'm just going to say this right off... I despised Tate. I was still despising Tate when I ended the book. Indy, on the other hand, I adored. I ended this frustrated because I'd been enjoying the series and looking forward to seeing Indy find his own HEA. What he got instead was an obnoxious, pretentious jerk who was ridiculously wishy washy.

Can you tell I didn't like Tate? ;)

I did enjoy seeing characters from previous books in the series, though I'm really hoping to see some of the guys from How to Catch a Prince, my absolute favorite of the 4 I've read so far. The only reason I'm rating this 3 stars instead of 2 is because of Indy and the others. If I was basing my rating just on Tate, it would be an easy 1 star read for me.

This books feels like a breath of fresh air! After a streak of lousy books, I needed good and sweet and I knew Ana would deliver. Indy deserved a story and Tate is a great couple for him. I like the way the "wake up married" trope was used and the way it pushed towards the climax. I feel it was very creative.

Molto, molto carino.

Indy set up a date through an app, but when Tate showed up, their first meeting was literally a smack in the face thanks to a case of mistaken identity. Once the mix-up was cleared, sparks flew, and the two turned out to be a wonderful match.
Tate, a divorce lawyer, isn’t looking for a long-term relationship, but Indy’s charm broke through to Tate.

Indy's family is hilarious, who always leave random “things” in his apartment. That makes this small town romance so fun.

This was my first book from this author, and I definitely look forward to reading more. Nick Hudson’s narration really brought the characters to life, making the story even more enjoyable.

I received this audiobook as part of a giveaway.

Lavender & Cinnamon

The dialogue in this book is outstanding, witty, clever and fun. Also, Indy’s family is hilarious but I don’t want them to decorate my house. “You’ve wrapped yourself around my heart so tight, I don’t think I can tell which part is mine and which is yours.” Gah, the feels with Tate and Indy. They’re beautiful, electrifying and so delicious, I want extra helpings. I love Chester Falls and wish I could get a taste of life there. Doughn’t miss out on this book or series. It’s full of heat, heart, lovable characters and is simply fantastic. Knead I say more?

Indy owns Spilled Beans coffee shop and Tate is Indy's best friends fiancee's Tristans twin brother. Didn't that cause some fun confusion..
Their meeting was weird and fun.
A sweet, hallmark type love story I really enjoyed. Sweet, funny, romantic sometimes sad. Lots of fun baking puns and inappropriate penis objects.

Meh. The best thing about this one is the cover photograph.
I was unsatisfied, and it’s hard to say why.
Maybe not enough angst? I didn’t feel or believe the tension. Or really even feel at all connected to the characters.
There was nothing BAD about this, just nothing GREAT either.

Indigo’s story!!

Not gonna lie, I will have to re-listen to this book as I’ve been incredibly sleep deprived this first time around, but I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know another Chester Falls character! I liked Indy before this book, as he’s appeared in the previous ones, but I just saw him as an easygoing man who runs a cafe. There’s so much more to him that we get to see in this story. Of all the MCs so far, I feel like he’s most like Tom, but dialled down a bit and with more anxiety and clear abandonment issues.

Discovering that Tristan has a twin was a twist I didn’t predict—but in a good way! With his own issues and insecurities, Tate was a really interesting character too. Throughout the book, he starts to work through his own issues and I love that for him! I loved that their relationship was somewhat slowburn and that there was never any pressure from either of them to speed things up. When they did get together, it felt completely right for them, not rushed or anything, which I adored!

It was also really nice to see so many of the other characters back, the ones who live in Chester Falls at least, and I adore how close they are and how protective they are of each other! They really are the definition of found family 🥰

"How to Catch a Bachelor" is the fourth volume in the really good and interesting "Chester Falls" series by Ana Ashley. This time the author has prepared something special for us, because from the beginning to the end the story is related to the topic of wedding of two characters we know best from another part of the series, and more precisely from the bonus story the author wrote for her fans. However, what's important, in this volume the most essential part of the story is the fact that it focuses on two best men who are hot for each other. This is a theme known from many romance stories, but Ana Ashley shows us how amazing this type of plot can really be if created right. So if you think there's no way to write something new about the best men love affair except what has already been written, taking into consideration both books and movies, believe me, you are wrong. Ana Ashley wrote not only something new, but also very valuable. This is not a romantic comedy, it is a novel with a soul.

The great advantage of "How to Catch a Bachelor" is the amazing chemistry between the characters, which the reader can see and feel clearly. It's worth noting, however, that while there is a spark between Indy and Tate, they both initially avoid intimacy for a variety of reasons. I really liked that the author used their hesitation to give them a chance to get to know each other better. Thanks to this, the characters work on their friendship which is enriched with mutual interest, and only after some time their attraction becomes impossible to ignore any further. Importantly, the author added some really surprising revelations to this story, thanks to which "How to Catch a Bachelor" shows us the characters' psyche and raises some very important problems with which Indy and Tate have to deal on their own. Sure, their friends try to show them the right path, but it is primarily up to them to overcome all adversities and find the happiness.

The thing that caught my eye in "How to Catch a Bachelor" is a very popular theme, which in this novel took on a depth that, frankly speaking, surprised me. I am very impressed with how clearly Ana Ashley managed to show it. I'm talking about the fact that by trying not to hurt someone, we can hurt this person, sometimes very deeply and without knowing it. What's interesting, the author to some extent juxtaposes this problem with the desire to hurt an important person, which is a result of an internal, psychologically conditioned need in a specific situation. However, I think it should be added that the author does not try to find an "external" solution to the characters' problems, but shows how much depends on the person who is struggling with a given problem, on their strength, on trying to understand themselves.

In conclusion, "How to Catch a Bachelor" is a fantastic novel that is so engaging that there is only one way to call it - the page-turner. In this book each page is filled with amazing, hot chemistry, desire, feelings and the inner struggle of the characters whose hearts and bodies crave something other than their mind. I highly recommend this novel. And believe me, you will fall in love with this story and the characters!

________________________________

„How to Catch a Bachelor” jest czwartym już tomem naprawdę dobrej i interesującej serii „Chester Falls” autorstwa Any Ashley.

Talk about a confirmed bachelor! Being a divorce lawyer probably gives Tate a jaded view of commitment and relationships, so when he meets Indigo and lays down the law, Indigo reluctantly agrees. Luckily love is always in the air in Chester Falls and it seems to spread to Vegas! Ana Ashley has written another fairytale romance with her usual good-natured humour and sweetness. It was great watching Tate grow and change over course of the book. I also enjoyed the wedding planning for Tristan & Ben, the boys’ trip to Vegas, and the focus on delicious baked goods! 🎧 Nick Hudson imbues the story with his always infectious warmth and happiness. His voicing, comedic timing, and pacing really suit the Chester Falls series.

And she does it again folks....

I love this series. Each book is so unique but they fit so well together. You certainly can read this as a standalone but I highly recommend you start at the beginning and read them in order. It’s so much more enjoyable. Indy and Tate’s Love Story has everything you want in a storyline. It has humor, angst, hurt feelings, mended fences, and a whole lotta love and sexy times. I cannot wait to read the next book and see where the men of Chester Falls take us.

A wonderful book that I read in one go, I just could not put it down. I’ve been waiting for Indy’s story and it was everything. It’s a bit more angsty than the other books in this series but it worth getting put through the wringer for the pay off at the end. Indy and Tate don’t appear to fit into each other’s lives but their chemistry is electric and they can’t stay away. I loved the push and pull of this relationship, and these boys were smoking hot!

New Review! How to Catch a Bachelor (Chester Falls #4) by @anawritesmm as narrated by @nickhudsonnarrator

I got this as a freebie and now I’m in love with your work Ana! 😮‍💨

Y’ALL! DO YOU LIKE R1MM1NG? CAUSE THE R1MM1NG IN THIS BOOK BROKE MY BRAIN. Yes the plot was ADORABLE, the characters SEGGSY as all get out but their chemistry and pining was like WOW and when they hooked up after INSANELY hilarious flirting, well.. my brain did a full reset. I haven’t read anyone spend so much time, care, dedication and LOVE to r1mm1ng and I’m CLEARLY putting that in my notes for @anawritesmm as an author. This is ✨IMPORTANT✨ for people to know.

Anyway okay, the narration… this was a first with Nick but omg he’s so theatrical! I loved his verve and passion! He made me laugh so much! But also his voice got Tate made me just f*cking melt… like sir, one you go into the deeper register…. It’s very good. Mmmrowr. Anyway, SUCH a great character narrator and I’d seek him out for his titles!

The BOOK!

TL:DR indigo is an adorable baker bóy looking for a hot shag to get him out of his slump while his besties plan their wedding. He meets a seggsy Top™️ on an app and he advertises his TightBuns™️ and once they meet in person Indigo has a meltdown thinking it’s his bestie’s fiancé! But alas it’s the mysterious older by ten minutes twin brother of said fiancé, Tate, in town to reconcile with his younger nt ten mins twin. *gasps in Spanish gif*

Once the soapy drama wears off, they realize they’re drawn together and they become friends who kiss, then friends who hookup… but Tate isn’t into relationships and runs for the hills.

Leave it to the besties to bring them together when they name Tate and Indigo co-best men, and during the bachelor party in Vegas they patch things up and get VERY flirty and dirty…

Then… wake up married.

Yup. It’s emotional drama and eventual growth for the two dummies and they’re so seggsy and sweet as they work it all out and see their friends’ wedding through, and solve their own marital chaos. Both men are just guh. And the epilogue and bonus scene are just perfect. Loved it to bits
