Continued story for the tournament arc and here our teams are harrassed outside of arenas and some interesting updates are in progress. The art was nice and let's see how the story continues so let's go on and Keep on Reading.

I have always loved comics, and I have I can. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and hope always to love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.

Yoh Asakura not only sees dead people, he talks and fights with them, too. That’s because Yoh is a shaman, a traditional holy man able to interact with the spirit world. Yoh is now a competitor in the Shaman Fight, a tournament held every 500 years to decide who will become the Shaman King and shape humanity’s future. As the tournament progresses. Yoh’s father gives Ren a lesson in humility and offers to teach him the secrets of the Ultra Senji Ryakketsu. But further instruction Is Interrupted when Hao’s minions attack. Shaken by the revelation that one of the attackers is the brother of a man he killed, Ren is mortally wounded and only Yoh's last-minute intervention saves Team Ren from annihilation. Now, with Ren's life slipping away, Yoh is faced with a momentous decision.

Ever since Amazon linked up with comiXology, so that readers could get comics, graphic novels and manga on their kindles, I have been meaning to check out what they had. Under Amazon Prime Reading you get a number of titles for free and this comiXology original is one such series.

The epic saga continue with Ren clinging onto life having been ambushed by a group of Hao's minions. In order to save his life Yoh has to make some big decisions.

Easy to read and engaging, I enjoyed this and it felt just like reading a paperback manga, even on Kindle, as you have to click through the book backwards. A nice little touch. A solid 4 stars again as the story ramps up the action!

It pains me to give a volume of Shaman King less than 3 stars, but this was the weakest volume yet. It began strongly enough, with Yoh making a pretty major deal in order to save Ren, and I wanted to see more of that. Instead, the rest of the story felt like uninteresting filler, as returning characters fight to establish new characters, villainous and heroic. It all felt like an overlong way to set things up, at the expense of the major story, and is the weaker for it.

This volume continues where the previous one left off as Yoh goes on to accept the unthinkable deal that will allow them to help Ren from his predicament. Meanwhile, Redseb and Seyram take on the Hanagumi in a not-too-exciting battle.

Finally get to see the fucking mallgoth girls in action. Their Oversouls are kinda lame, though.

Jun and Tamao get to show their stuff as well, but nothing major seems to have really changed since their last O.S. appearances. Bailong has the rocket punch thing from Gun-Jack in Tekken. Aside from that, same ol' same ol'.

There's some set-up with the mecha golem being a big deal, and Yoh's dad comes in to save the day kinda. Yoh makes a deal with Jeanne to save Ren, but that plot is put on hold halfway through the volume to get back to Jun and Tamao versus the mallgoth girls.

Not very eventful. Feels like an intermediate volume, setting up more interesting things for the near future. Here's hoping.

Ren!?! REN!?! RRRRREEEENNNN!!!! The volume starts off hear pounding and continues to keep you engaged and entertained. The quote of this book for me; “If the people of this World could really be free…there wouldn’t be so much strife.” The saying holds true to any good series and holds true in this book. I found it to be very interesting and while it might have been some of the bigger shocks of reading this series so far, it definitely delivered in the entertainment department. And that is what we should be looking for when you are reading manga. Entertainment. Lots of battles. Lots of entertainment.

i wanted a proper girl fight but it was cut short
yoh+anna was impartant but kind of felt filler-y

While the first chapter or so was okay, the volume as a whole felt like a lot of drawn out filler. The battles weren't entertaining or significant enough to the plot to feel worth spending time on, and the characters I really care about were all missing. Instead it's focused on characters that are only interesting in their relationship to others and treated them as the focus of the text. ugh.

Even though it’s obvious Yoh is gonna find a way back in the tournament the chapter he withdrew is pretty good, Mikihisa is a really good character and he’s just arrived, the women slapping took me by surprise. Let’s see what happens next.

Yoh makes it to the aid of Ren in his epic battle - just in time to watch him be fatally wounded, where the only way of possibly saving his life lies in the hands of Lady Jeanne and her price of Yoh's quick withdrawal from the Shaman Fight. Takei will leave readers breathless with this terrifying entry to the "Shaman King" series. Ren's life makes for a terrible time limit as Yoh decides what he is willing to give up.

Shaman King Volume 18 leaves me perplexed: did Ren actually die? And who exactly are Canna Bismarck, Mathilda Mathis, and Marion Fauna... Why did these three girls challenge Anna and Tamao and Bailing?

I guess I would find out soon enough...by reading volume 19!
