Lili Zander is the sci-fi romance loving alter-ego of Tara Crescent. She lives in Toronto. She enjoys reading sci-fi and fantasy, and thinks a great romance makes every book better.
This book was so worth the wait! Blood of the Shayde starts where we left off in the first book. Saber, Nero, and Zeke have gotten Raven off the planet and saved her for now. But Raven is not a happy person with these three after they have lied to her over and over. But now that their feelings are out and they know what they all mean to each other, they feel they need to start over and have an open and honest conversation. But while that is all happening, they also have an assassin on their butts, and now they need to rescue some children from bad guys.
While Saber, Nero, Zeke, Raven, and Prince Ragnar are getting to know each other, they all have individual fights on their hands but need to come together for the main event. There is a war coming and will have to be strong together, or everything will be gone.
This one does end on a cliffhanger, but the third book is scheduled for the end of the month. I can not wait for it!
This is the second book in this paranormal, reverse harem read and I do recommend reading them in order. They are off to get the cure for the virus Raven has been infected with. Will be they be able to stop the war that is in the horizon? Raven is growing stronger in knowing who she is and what she wants. I look forward to more in the series.
What do you get when you cross 3 revolutionist vampires and a human that is a weapon that only needs to be pointed in the right direction? A hell of a sequel.
Raven has finally managed to leave the horrible nightmare of the mining planet. Saber, Nero and Zeke pulled together, stole a ship, and they're heading to a place where they can find a cure to the virus in Raven's veins. Only, a sneaky prince, an assassin, pirates and her own fears are running them ragged. One is more than he seems, the other is barely leashed, the pirates have a connection to Nero's past and she's determined to work past the prejudice her history has left her with. War is on the horizon, both for the empire and their bonds.
Spoilers ahead. This sequel was worth the wait. Raven is growing. She's still rash, makes some bad calls and tries to put up walls but she sees that and works on her issues. She knows what she wants and isn't going to let exes, blood viruses or the guys' worries stand in her way. Learning about mating bonds opens some different, unexpected, paths lol. The transfusion idea was valid but the handling was oddly done. Still not exactly sure how it does everything it does (from boils to melting bones) while leaving humans alive. But maybe leaving the science vague on that is good. Rather not enough explanation than mockably bad one. We finally get to "meet" different beings in the empire. I'm still not sure exactly how these planets work together. Were they conquered? Willingly joined? Although the Jowth seem very separate to be a part of an empire. The story flowed, nonetheless, and carried the same hope, sadness, mystery, and begining of love from the first book. After that ending, I'm excited for book 3.
Hmm. Raven was a weak character in this book and she is full of insecurities and judgmental towards others she knows nothing about. He guys at least seem to know what they're doing. Raven just stands around twiddling her thumbs and daydreaming and being condescending to others. I can honestly say if wasn't for me wanting to see where this virus or disease is headed, then this series would suck. There isn't enough details given for vampires or the guys in general. He's a prince, he's a hacker, he's a spy with skills, he's a general. Ok so what do the look like how long do they live, can you give us more details about his hacking skills or his spy skills, or his princely duties as well as his duties to the empress? Why did you make Raven weak? Like she can't stand on her own two feet, can't throw a punch, fears getting her hands dirty, is ok with her original 3 a matter of minutes and becomes leery of her 4th before ever giving him a chance. By now she should be able to defend herself pretty well. She should be able to kill in self defense by now, she should move when blades are thrown in her direction and not just stand there like an idiot. The only reason I'm reading is because I wanna see where the main plotline goes. Does she get cured? At this point her 3 guys are hers securely. The 4th guy is ok but she is all wishy washy. Do I love him, do I not? Is he serious or is he playing? It's aggravating. Especially when all she does is drag it out. Sorry, she's what, 21-22 years old? She should be more experienced with death, sex, blood, and her ingrained protective instincts. Protection of ones self and protection of others. Ugh, I'm off to read book 3 and hope!! it's better.
Raven has the protection of her vampire lovers, Saber, Zeke, and Nero, but a deadly assassin is chasing them across the galaxy. Prince Ragnar will help them in their efforts to prevent a mad man, General Harek Levitan, General of the Shayde Army, and one of the vampires responsible for the development of the virus that infects Ravens blood, from using the threat of the disease to become ruler of the Shayde empire.
Wow, this is an action packed, exciting, and sexy read. Fascinating, and sizzling hot, characters that are falling in love, but are also willing to put their lives on the line to protect innocent humans from powerful and corrupt vampires. Fantastic book!
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
This is the continuing story of Raven and her three sexy alpha male vampires, Saber, Zeke, & Nero. She’s human and other vampires and even some humans tend to underestimate her. After all she is a lethal weapon all by herself! She is one gutsy female! Lili weaves an excellent story packed with intrigue, suspense, and sexiness! Everything a reader could want! The foursome is increasing to possibly add a fifth but there is so much at stake that the story ends with a cliffy and in a way to leave room for the third book in the series. The action in this book kept me engaged and I couldn’t put this book down. I recommend it!
An amazing second book in the series. One I stated I could not put the book down, the plot captured me, called to me and had me engrossed. The characters are written with care and attention to detail. The plot is full and fast paced but no detail is skipped. The story twist and turns. The characters weave in and out and surprised me on many occasions. I loved this book and highly recommend it and the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Blood of the Shayde is the second book in the series, The Aliens Blood Mate, by Lili Zander. It's a reverse harem story, and you should definitely read the first book, Night of the Shayde first, otherwise you would miss a lot and not understand the characters very well. Lili Zander is a awesome sci-fi/romance/futuristic fantasy author, this book is further proof.

So I liked the first one. This one is even better. Raven is tough and her guys dont fawn all over her. I love how different this world is. Its hard to make vampires unique but she has done it. A fresh take on an age old subject. The writing is excellent. There were one or two small inconsistencies between book 1 and 2 but I'm a nut about those. I doubt they are noticeable to most.
Tension Filled, Steamy RH With Lots At Stake!🙈🔥😲 Brutal Fights & Surprises Galore.😳💥 (Read using Kindle Unlimited) Blood Of The Shayde (Vampires' Blood Mate #2)
I'm even more invested than I was after book #1.👍 They all share their deepest truths, good & bad, drawing the four closer together!💘 A fifth potentially wants to join. The danger & assassination attempts are full on. Prince Ragnar could become an ally?! It's time for book #3.🌟
Wow! Non-stop action and drama. The second book in the series will have you glued to it as you journey along with Raven and the guys. We see a lot more of the Prince in this one and just like the guys you fall in love with him instantly. It is extremely well written and the growth of the characters are amazing. It is a stunning story that is an absolute intriguing drama. It is a must read and doesn’t disappoint.
I am so very excited that the next book in this series is out! I was totally hooked with Night of the Shayde and Blood of the Shayde definitely didn’t disappoint! I am counting down the days until the last book is released! Hunger Games meets Twilight with not having to choose between her men! (Imagine if Bella chose Edward AND Jacob!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥)
I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters and how they came together. I can't wait to see what will happen next for them and to see if her and Prince Ragnar will get together.
Second books can always be a challenge to get the momentum going that was established in the first book. Needless to say the author did and amazing job of not repeating this and keeping to story alive!
This is the second book of the Shayde Saga and wow the intrigue and suspense it getting heavy as Sabre, Nero and Zeke try to keep Raven from being killed by an assassin. I definitely cant wait to read the next book in the saga to see how it finishes...
This is the second book in this amazing trilogy and it blew me away! This book was fast paced and had so much heart. I can't wait to read the epic conclusion to this series.
Each male is a distinct person full of flaws and personality. They are believable and how they relate to Raven is fun to watch. The whole superior species gives each ordinary interaction so much more complexity. Will be sad to see this end with book 3.
I felt the first was geared more for YA audience (except sex scenes). This one was for adults and wove the story twists, turns skillfully. Well done Zander! Can not wait for the third book.
Boring!!!! It took all my strength to finish this book. Honestly I skimmed about 10 percent of the middle b/c I zoned out. I really wanted to like this book and the entire series. It had great promise. Plus I have read several other books by the author and enjoyed them. I’m so glad this was a free KU book or I may have been really mad! I don’t think I’ll be continuing on to finish the series. The love scenes were lukewarm at best. The character development was ok I suppose. We learned a bit more about the guys past in this book which was good. But it just didn’t grab me. I give it 1.5 stars.
A very good installment in this series. I felt that the first book started off too slowly and I nearly gave up a few times. Not so with this book. Although by now, I’m invested in these characters. While the relationship hasn’t been consummated yet, we have more storyline around Prince Ragnar and his addition to their existing bô (harem, if you haven’t read the books).
Vampires really do have a much different outlook on these things than humans! Anyway, my personal opinion is that this book doesn’t really stand alone well. You really need to read the first book in the series. And it does end on somewhat of a cliff hanger. I am glad that I stuck it out on book #1 though.
This is a great continuation of Ravens story and her desperate plight to stop evil doing more harm in her universe! Sexy and surprising! Brilliant world building and story weaving! There are many new twists to the tale to keep you in the edge of your seat! Superb! I can wait for the next book!
