Curvy in College: The Jock and the Genius

Rate this book
COLLEGE INSTALOVE LIKE YOU'VE NEVER SEEN . . .

Her wit is sharper than my route-running on the football field.

Her mind is quicker than my fastball on the baseball pitch.

She wears mom-jeans and is on a mission to graduate early and save the world or some nonsense like that.

Too serious.

Too nerdy.

Too not my type . . .

Or so I thought.

Drama and madness with a touch of angst.

Sweetness and a hint of darkness.

No cheating. No cliffhangers. And a guaranteed happy ending.

This is campus-love, Annabelle Winters style.

I loved reading this college romance. The genius and the jock. I loved how lara stood up for herself in the beginning and the banter her and logan created together. The murder mystery was a nice touch, keeping the story moving and the reader guessing how it would involve the new couple.

“WTF?!” MARTINS, Sarah while reading Curvy in College.

This is the most instalove story I’ve ever read, so, obviously, I hated it.

Don't let the title fool ya!

The story felt like a marathon of things, I didn't get the love between the characters and why did the author bring in the death of a professor and the hero's father as a member of the mob?
It was such a weird and confusing story!

Meathead and mom-jeans

Cute story... was this a little over the top? yes. Do you expect that with an Annabelle Winters book? also yes. Yes, the dumb jock falling for the nerd is a little unrealistic, but if I wanted realistic, I'd read nonfiction. It was short, and while there wasn't a ton of character development, the characters do grow, especially Logan. I loved the epilogue.

Rocks for jocks
This book is about Logan and Lara. It’s an instalove story between two opposites – the best kind. He is the college athlete, playing three sports, and not taking classes too seriously. She is the genius student that takes college and her other life plans very seriously. They sit together in a geology class, and he annoys her with his arrogance, and he’s intrigued by this girl that simply doesn’t fall at his feet.
But there’s a definite attraction there, and enough chemistry to get her body really tingling. They quickly develop a relationship of sorts, and whilst she’s very innocent and naïve, she desperately wants him. He’s also changed, as he cannot stop thinking about her. He’s gentle and sweet with her, allowing her to take things at her pace – which is surprisingly NOT slow!
Lara helps Logan to be more focused, and he’s supportive of her endeavours too. They really make a good team together. Even when they’re faced with dramas and surprises, they’re there for each other.
The story is sweet and steamy, and honest and passionate. The only thing I didn’t like was how it ended so abruptly. I wanted more of their story. BUT, I’m hoping to catch a glimpse of them in the next book of the series, which focuses on their friends Milly and Mason. I recommend this fun read.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the first book in a new series. In this book, Logan is a bully because he is on the football, baseball and track team. Logan knows he is untouchable at the college and uses it to his advantage. When Logan goes into one of his classes, he sees Lara and she stands up to him. Logan makes fun of Lara and she insults him back, making Logan notice her even more. Logan can't forget Lara and when she drops the class, he goes looking for her. Logan wants to ask Lara out and she doesn't understand why. Logan is close to failing out of school and when he starts an argument with the professor, video gets leaked and the professor wants to get rid of Logan. Lara overhears the professor and can't decide if she should tell Logan. I really enjoyed this book. Logan wasn't the jerk he came across as and i think Lara made him better. Lara and Logan were good together and i think they put the other first. Lara had her own dreams and i like that she was determined to achieve them. Good one.

This was my first read by Annabelle Winters and I am hooked! She has an easy style, you just fall into her words. Logan is a bit of a jerk, so arrogant but unfocused. He has no plan for his life. He is a great athlete but its another way to showcase his skill and at the same time, refusing to commit. He plays football, baseball and runs track. He is the exact opposite of Lara. Lara is smart as all get out and she has big plans for her life. Her drive to succeed comes from tragedy but that makes you admire her even more. She doesn't let Logan intimidate her, even when she was embarrassed. She still gave as good as she got. What set Ms Winters' work apart for me was that he was into her from the beginning. He didn't see her as a danger to his popularity, etc like it usually seems to go in other books with this trope. The chemistry between them is phenomenal and I cannot get over how much I genuinely liked both of these characters. Ms Winters now has a new fan and I can't wait to read about Lara's roommate!

This is the first book, Curvy in College series. We get to meet Logan who acts entitled as he is a star football, baseball and track player at his college. Logan is one strong and dominant person and gets away with somethings others would not. In his junior year he meets a mean freshman, Lara who gives as good as Logan gives her. That 1st conversation is the beginning of them trying to figure out how to navigate their undeniable attraction to one another. Logan is known to be a ladies man and Lara is a virgin. Lara is warned to stay away from Logan but he goes after her and is genuinely ready for something different with her and believes it could be real love! There is some danger and a twist you will not see coming. Logan really shows the man is his meant to be and Lara gives him the encouragement and love he is missing while taking her brains and using them fir the good of others. This is really a sweet love story between two people who are ready for love! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

>Book Review – The Jock and the Genius
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 1st in the Curvy in College series and ends in an HEA. Lara is a child prodigy in college, along with jock, Logan. Logan has an instant attraction to Lara that turns in to love on their 1st date. There is absolutely no character development in this story. What drives Lara besides the loss of her parents? I get that she wants to be a doctor, but why so quickly?
>The book has 1 hookup and zero romance. Logan’s exes could have been used to spice up the story and reveal more about the personality of Lara. Logan has almost no backstory. Why was he so lazy? Why did no one tell him to star in only 1 sport to make it in the big leagues? Why throw in the mafia at the last chapter and then not use the danger that the mafia represents in the story?
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 3 stars. The story’s bones are great, but there needs to be more development.

This new start to the Curvy in College series was a fun read. Logan and Lara's connection from the start was hostile and intense. Both left a lasting impression on one another. Lara...I loved her...she gave as good as she got from Logan. She was smart and determined in her goals...she not gonna let a "dumb" jock sway her. Their banter was fun and hilarious. Logan was the typical jock ...a lot of arrogance and cocky, but once he got with Lara he was focus with a brand new look on life. He wanted a career and most definitely he wanted Lara. He got both and it was an entertaining journey. That twist at the end that wrapped everything up had me cheering. I loved the epilogues and the lead in with the next book in the series.

Opposites attract in this college romance

The Jock and the Genius is the first book in the Curvy in College series and is the story of Lara and Logan. This is a likeable college romance about a young nerdy genius and the Alpha football, baseball and track star. They have an instant attraction to each other but they are also opposites in a lot of ways. They have a lot of road to navigate to get to any type of an HEA and it is going to be a bumpy and witty ride along the way.
This was a good first book in the series but there were a few things that I did not really like about the story-line, as they did not make sense to me. It is still a cute love story with some drama, romance and fun.

I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

I received a free copy of the steamy novella Curvy in College: The Jock and the Genius (Curvy in College Series Book 1) by Annabelle Winters and this review was given freely.
An intense and twisted irritation to attraction at first sight romance combined with a murder mystery and finishing with a touching ending.
Academically struggling, self entitled Weston University junior bully and star triathlete Logan finds himself in a freshman Geology class where the one woman he offends, the curvy smart and sassy Genetics major Laura, changes his life forever.

Great characters and great situations
4.5
It's a good short romance in which I liked the characters who are both physically attracted and repelled (at least for the heroine, Lara, who has set a precise line of road that men have no place for now)
Yet Lara decides to prevent an injustice against Logan whom she finds arrogant, but who does not deserve what is intended for him.
But the story has twists and turns that have made it evolve completely differently from what it was heading towards. She goes from simple romance to an unpredictable thriller. I was just a little disappointed with the end, which seemed quick to me.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this quick story about Logan and Lara. She's a freshman genius. She's taking geology to get extra credit. When she confronts Logan for taking up three seats in class, it starts an undeniable reaction. Logan plays football, baseball and runs track. He's good at all three but sucks at school. When she overhears a professor talking bad about him, she needs to warn him.. But they end up in a weird murder investigation. Great HEA in the end, after the beat the odds against them.

Curvy in College is looking to be a great series, starting off with The Jock and the Genius. This story is like no other, it has its heat and passion but with a twist that you don't see coming.

Lara is smart and has a plan for life, Logan is a jock and is wondering. Together sparks fly, the future becomes clearer and they become stronger, until one night a simple accident could lead to trouble.

This story will take you on a wild ride of ups and downs that keep you on your toes. I am looking forward to the rest of this series.

I am loving Ms. Winters' stories, Each one has been a quick romp with a little adventure mixed in.
Lara and Logan are not two characters that you would think go together. Ms. Winters finds a way to get her characters to mesh. I am loving the world-building and I look forward to the next books in this series.
The setting is fun and the characters are interesting. You will definitely find yourself rooting for Lara and
Logan to make their individual dreams come true.
If you are looking for a quick, steamy read, Ms. Winters does not disappoint.

Logan is at college on a division three football scholarship. He meets up with Lara. They snicker back and forth during geology class are they gain the Professor’s attention. Professor who also attended the college in his younger years warned Lara about hanging around Logan. Logan is drawn to her. He likes that she wears mom jeans and is a freshman. As Lara and Logan get to know each other the professor who doesn’t like Logan after confrontation and dad. Did he do it? There is a conspiracy the only Laura knows about. Are the detectives on to her? Well Logan? Steam does happen without a cliffhanger.

I loaded this up on my kindle after it popped up on my recommendations based on the books I read recently. Nicole Snow and Lauren Blakely were the last two. For those who like these authors, this book is not for you. Firstly I’m not a massive fan of instalove stories so that should have tipped me off. It might be other people’s cup of tea but just not me and I confess I just couldn’t finish it. As someone who finishes all books just because I can’t help myself regardless of the story is saying something. Sorry, just my honest opinion.

Logan is an jock who thinks he is 'GODS GIFT' that is until Lara. She comes back with a smart comment when he says something smart. She is very intelligent but he is the one struggling. They start hanging out & helping one another. They spent so much time together they never want to be apart in the future. They get married. They went from can't standing each other to loving each other.

Lara is a prodigy and a freshman in college. Logan is a junior and the jock. They seem to be opposites but can't resist the pull to each other. Throw in a mystery and this book becomes an interesting alpha male/nerdy girl romance. This is a fast paced action packed review. The characters have chemistry.
