Changing Channels: From Just The Facts To Outrageous Opinions

Rate this book
Changing Channels is about television news told by journalists who live the story 24/7

Facing unique challenges posed by a unique president, newscasts are under the microscope. Just as viewers are changing channels to the one that reflects their political beliefs, journalists are reassessing their strategies. For prominent anchors and reporters the stakes are high. Is this the golden age of post-Watergate journalism? Or have some programs morphed from "just the facts" to propaganda masquerading as news? The lines are blurred as a debate rages over the new rules of the game. Donald Trump's media-bashing circus labels reporters "enemies of the people". As this drama plays out, anchors and reporters who make the most noise often get the most attention. Who is speaking truth to power and who is disseminating partisan rhetoric? And what happens next in the inevitable post-Trump world? Will broadcast journalism revert to the old normal or is this the new normal?

Changing Channels explores the world of TV news - its present and its future told by the people who know it best. Through exclusive interviews and little known public statements, high-profile anchors, reporters, executives and media critics tell us what they really think when the cameras aren't rolling.

This entire book is about how terrible Donald Trump is and who is the source of all the problems that news reporters have now days. But not just Trump, anyone considered conservative is totally backward, uneducated, and just plain stupid and hindering what journalists are trying to do. To say that this is a liberal sided book is a complete understatement, it's nothing but and how those journalists do such an outstanding job of reporting the news the way it's "supposed to be", in other words how you should be listening and watching it, and not making your own decisions on what you believe. Never once in this waste of paper does she ever even mention the audience and what they want and their importance and how the media wouldn't even exist without their journalistic skills, always ponting the finger on how important they, as journalists, are and what they are trying to do is what is important and the audience really doesn't matter. This book qualifies for a nice roll of toilet paper and nothing else.

Scintillating and Reassuring

To one who deplores misinformation, deceit, untruth and lack of integrity, Judy Bishop, a wonderful friend, has provided me in her fine book the reassurance that the best journalists still have it right. That hard work, accuracy and balanced objectivity will prevail in time over the divisive hate mongers, and Americans will come to their senses and respect truthfulness and accuracy again and hopefully not forget what has made us a great Nation.
