This third and thankfully not the last book in this series delivered in every aspect of the story! The Gladstone pack demonstrates on a large scale the concept of "found family" and does so beautifully! I have come to care deeply for these friends and cannot wait for the story to continue to move forward. So much love and caring between them all, lots of happy tears and loads of laughter! These books have become some of my favorite that I have ever read and I will get many hours of pleasure rereading them once the series concludes!
ABUNDANT MOON is the third book in the Gladstone Shifters series and it focuses on the good things that have happened to the Pack. In particular, the number of babies being born.
The timeline is a bit jumpier than the other two, simply because it skips ahead to the important dates. This is good because it means a) you don't miss out on anything and b) you're not bogged down with 'filler' until the right time comes.
Although this story mainly is about peace and prosperity, my heart broke for Lance and Jonah. I really want these two to get their HEA so I'm hoping for at least one of them in the next book. I think I've figured out who Jonah's might be... possibly? To be honest, I don't care. I love these stories and have no hesitation in recommending them.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *
I'm not stoked about this one either. It is 90% Gladstone: the domestic side stories, and 10% setting up the problems for the next book. The lack of a protagonist of any sort does bother me, as well as the lack of clear plot, conflict or goal. At least they gave up the facade of having a protagonic couple. We still have the constant jumping betwern point of view between every and any character. We still have the disjointed chapters starred by side characters that add nothing to the plot. The odd hype for events that are resolved quickly or lead to nothing. This time, however, everyone is either having a baby or wanting one. Whatever isn't related to that os setting up for the next book. It felt like something that could've been focused to a novella or, if edited properly, added either to a past or future book. I imagine this series would benefit a lot from focus in editing, as Alexander is good at narrating. As it is, it feels like a mess.
I've enjoyed that the stories have complex plots that stretch the interest in multiple ways. Adding bits of a lost history teases interest even more. These have been more then just love stories and I thank the author for having such a knack of creating such enthralling worlds in which I can immerse myself.
I received an ARC of this book for my honest review. I really enjoyed reading this series even though the books were longer than I like to read this one was shorter then the other 2. But I have to say I found myself not wanting to put them down. I'm hoping there's another book in this series. I highly recommend this series what a great read.
I absolutely love this captivating book with exceptional characters in a world that is so realistic it felt like I was on the journey with them. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author that knows how to captivate the attention of their readers
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series! The characters are fully fleshed out and the situations are completely unique! Each book really adds to the world without dead spaces and repetition. An absolute joy to read! Highly recommended
I loved this book. It is probably my favorite of the series so far. I look forward to the next book in the series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A lot less drama than the first two books, more of a peaceful, successful and prosperous time has come to the ‘commune’, with several happy events, but there could be more change on the way, it’s annoyingly only hinted at, the shifter’s might all be at risk.
I'll say one thing first, this series is getting better and better. Although this one is a lot more character development and background it also has a lot more developing storylines that I can hardly wait for Alexander to knit together. I look forward to seeing something more of the Gladstone pack characters and world.
Personally I could do with a little less sex however this series continues to amaze me! It is spellbinding! I definitely must read for paranormal n gay romance fans alike!
A good read if you like paranormal. The up to date acceptance of mixed partnerships and the inclusion of new twists in the genre made this book enjoyable.
Exceptional this series goes from strength. This time, no scrap that, this is not a book about just one couple at a time though Ash and Robert coming together is important it about the whole pack. My only downside is that surely the series will come go an end, and like a spoilt child I don't want it to. Bring it on....
Abundant Moon: An MM gay paranormal romance (Gladstone Shifters Book 3) by Alexander Elliott is a story that I have loved reading. This is book number three in this awesome series that I have loved reading and can not wait to read more from this author. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about MM gay paranormal romance and shifters in their stories.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksirens and am voluntarily leaving a review.
As an avid reader of MM Paranormal books, I Thoroughly enjoyed the characterisation and story building in the development of the ‘Gladstone Shifters. It’s an original take on existing (fictional) shifter culture.
Ben and Evan are so happy at the moment. Puppies/children are all over the place. And other couples are planning for families, and some are already welcoming new life. Putting the war with Lyle behind them, Ben and Evan want to move forward, their pack is growing ever larger. Lyle is on the ropes, his dreams of running a “proper” wolf community (without gays) in tatters, his family don’t want to know him, the packs he had been carefully grooming are not taking his calls..... and it’s all the fault of the Gladstone Pack!!! Hezekiah was a True Elder (he in fact was teaching Jack) until he disappeared and was never seen again! He’d left journals and they have finally gotten to Jack’s hands, they are very old, and the pages are crumbling, so he needs to read before it disintegrates!! And when he reads a few pages, he has to wonder where this discovery will take the pack! Jonah is the pack omega and Ben’s baby brother, he’s happy to be in this pack, but he’s wanting what everyone else has (Jonah is keeping his virginity for his mate) but with everyone pairing up, he doesn’t hold out any hope just yet. The angst comes in the shape of two female wolves trapped in the snow, and about to both give birth!! Although Evan senses something, and a vision confirms his suspicions, finding the females before they perish in the snow become the priority. And to add just a little bit more, we have a newcomer, he might have family that are wolves, but he doesn’t shift, or acknowledge his wolf at all!! That not healthy, that’s dangerous, and Ben will have to assess the problem before Robert comes to Gladstone. I loved the first book, I cried over the second book, so I did wonder what emotion would be pulled out of me with this book...... It’s been great catching up with the pack, so many names, but as a majority of them were in the first and second book, it wasn’t hard keeping track of them. It was lovely seeing how they pack has developed. Coping with loss from the last battle with Lyle, a memorial for their fallen pack mates helped, watching the pups grow, knowing they would be loved for themselves. Meeting new members, saying hello to possible new characters. You definitely need to read them in order. And I hope I get to read book four soon, because it definitely ended on a cliffhanger!!
🦋 I received this book for an honest review and all thoughts are my own
I am reviewing the first three books in this series all at once, as they all receive the same 3-star rating in my opinion. The author has a very distinct writing style. It is quite formal and stilted. Everyone speaks in complete sentences and uses the most polite "tone" of voice. It all felt very "Stepford Wife-ish" to me. The attempts at sexual innuendo were childish and kind of creepy to read. The insta-love "MATE!!!" got old real fast. Each pairing began with the "MATE!!!" and 5 days of non-stop sex. Really??? No getting to know their "Luna-blessed" partners before succumbing to repeated sexual encounters for days on end? There was chapter after chapter devoted to the sexual encounters between mates. While the storylines were intriguing and potentially suspenseful (there were so many subplots and side stories - it was quite complex trying to remember who was paired with who and who was related to who), when the climax finally arrives, it is squelched pretty quickly and on to another conflict. But let's devote multiple chapters to the sexual shenanigans of all the mated parties, shall we? More story and less sex is what these books needed. AND, the complete story has still not been told by the end of the third book!! Each book sets the scene for the next book, so you have to continue reading to resolve the issues from the previous book. Some issues are hinted at that are not resolved until the last book. You have to read book #4 to tie up all the multiple plots and storylines, I assume.
Being that I was a big fan of Alexander Elliott's first two books about the Gladstone Shifter's, I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. One of my favorite things about Mr. Elliott's writing style was his attention to detail and his ability to craft the narrative in a way that was never boring even though the story was so finely summarized. I was a little disappointed that some of those elements seemed to be missing in this book. There were a few gaps in the transition between families and their circumstances and I was left distracted. There would be the barest hint at a mystery, a single sentence for example, I would would be left perplexed because I honestly had a feeling I had missed something. There also wasn't really a story arc, I assume because this book is to be continued into book four. I would consider this book more of a chronicle and I hope book four encompasses and completes the saga.
Still great writing but very short compared to the first two books. I felt this should have been book 2.5 to manage expectations. It was a fun catch up but that was all. The human knowing about them from the end of book 2 didn't advance much in the storyline, just a couple more hints. And the honor mate description for Katrine and her mate didn't match the storyline. The honor mate wasn't supposed to contribute genetics or scent, but after Ryan dies, the pup has both and Ryan's family becomes involved and they even use his last name. I understand the sentiment, but it doesn't follow the rules and that pulls me out if the story every time, which is a lot. Still looking forward to book 3, oops I mean 4.
I was looking forward to the third book in the series. I was extremely disappointed. There are many issues left unresolved to the point that this felt more like a cliffhanger than a happy for now. I know it said “open ended ending”, but there is no indication of when a fourth book might be coming. Where the first two bordered on being too long, this one was much shorter and was full of gratuitous sex and not much depth. I will wait for the next one before I make a final judgement on this series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author through BookSirens and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review. All opinions are my own.
Perhaps it has been too long between books 1 & 2, and reading book 3, but this storyline doesn’t flow as well nor appeal to me as much as the first two. I found too many disparate story threads and loose ends, sprinkled with unexpected paranormal influences and resulting in just a general lack of focus for me in this book. When I realized I no longer cared who “won” I stopped.
More pieces of the Gladstone pack puzzle. Lots of babies and things happening during the Christmas and Spring season. Its been a while since I read book two, but was able to just go with the flow as author did good job of rehashing needed info.
KU, book in series, paranormal, wolf shifters, mystery, family man, MM, MF (tiny amount), most sex scenes were quick and/or fade to black.
Lots of babies! Everything is status quo as we wait do new developments to come to life. I say this is the holiday book. So we wait for the next book for something more interesting.
Okay this is the 3rd in a series of 4 and I don't want it to end I love love this one it was heartwarming and funny makes u want to grab the 4 book asap enjoy I hope there are more....
Awesome job on this book! So many things going on in this story. I liked how everything works in this book. All the love, all the children, oh wow!! The story continues in this book to bring joy.
