Obviously the title and the cover of the book caught my attention. But luckily I read the blurb and it pretty much says that it actually is not about homosexuality. The protagonist is made fun of and slighted as "gay" because of the way he talks and acts, despite being straight.

What really put me off about the book was the language. It doesn't look like the author bothered to get someone to edit. Right from page one, there are errors that break the flow of the story. For example on page 2 or 3, the author says "he liked playing with his hairs too". Or "he creates stories around himself and let them roam freely around us". And NO, I didn't make a typo, these sentences are from the novel from the first few pages. It makes me really disappointed as a reader that when I get a book and it's filled with choppy language and errors. A few are fine. But constant error ridden paragraphs are a big thumbs-down.

Okay, another example, chapter 4 starts with this sentence "there come times in life when all you want or need is to be alone and fight your emotions". At that time, I wanted to stop reading the book. But continued anyway, only to not like it. It's about Sahil whose heart is broken & he decides to go travel in his pink bike. Then he meets a baba & some boring stuff happens. Then he takes us through his college life, which is even more boring.

This book just tries too hard to be cool. The language is not consistent either. I didn't like it.

I took up this book because I support the LGBTQ community whole-heartedly, and that everyone has the right to be who they are without any prejudice. I expected a coming-out story like "Simon v/s the homosexual agenda" or "call me by your name" but this book came out with a completely unexpected storyline.

This book is about a guy who has a feminine personality but is still straight. And in his definition, the gay is just another word for Happy. Sahil is an amazing character. His struggles, his morals, his relationship, and everything that he has gone through along with the way he came out even stronger is shown in the book and been inspirational. The book also touches the influence social media have on people's lives both in a positive and negative sense. And how social media cripples creativity. It shows thoughts of a social media star who had become a brand. I know that you're thinking what's social media has to do with a book called being gay, but I won't reveal that you'll find out once you read the book.

Now, if we come to story writing, the begging of the book, where there is a description of naga baba on the bank of river Ganga is attention-grabbing.

The story, in middle, did get a bit haywire, but the end is thrilling, astonishing, and unexpected in a way that you will feel spellbound.

So my last thoughts about this book are:
It is not what you're expecting from the title. It's definitely worth reading even if you belong or don't belong to the LGBTQ community.

Worth a Read

The story behind Being gay is as unique as its character. There's a proverb, we should not judge cover page. Yes, I must say I had the same thoughts as you have, is this again going to enlighten us about the "LGBT community". NO, it won't. Without reading the blurb I made some assumptions. But, I was proved wrong and this is not a story of a gay. But a boy's looks and voice are feminine. Being gay meaning is not only sexually-oriented it is more about being happy with yourself, accept the being in you. No, No it's not self-help and "accept yourself" kind of book. Which again I have thought so. The plotline has three shocking events. That will make you wonder and rewire your perspective for this story.

The author is famous for twisting his already twisted story which he has done in his previous books too. I had expected that but when I read about Sahil (protagonist) who is a strong and weak character at the same time. His ideas and methods were impressive. Throughout the story, I was awed by that character's strong will power, and mainly his subtleness.

I'm trying my best not to reveal much because you will lose surprise it hold for you. And trust me when you will keep this book, you will admire the author and you will be attached to Sahil and his story.
About the book I must say, it is fast-paced and can be read in one go.

Review:
It says "Don't judge book by its cover", but for this book, don't fall for the cover, the title, cause your every guess going to betray you. Though both are appropriate for the book, but still, as it's betray me.

I pick up this book up for the three reasons - first, the title which is interesting, second, the synopsis behind the book says that "Being Gay" Is not a love story, this is not a story about love either. This is a story about a guy named Sahil and the revolution that he himself wanted to end." - intriguing. Third, this is only 143 pages.

And you just need to read the prologue and the first chapter, and you'll be hooked into the story.

The main story is of Sahil, "who's not gay, but just appear to be gay" and all the little incidents and events that happens in his life that "shaped his life afterwards" , that makes him to write a book to express himself truly.

There's also a present day time period too, where Sunaina, a book lover like us, find Sahil's book and we meet Sahil through her.

I love Sahil, I love his character, his humor, his approach of life, his diary entries, his relationship with his father, their conversations, everything. And this is the first time I have actually see a character like him in a book.

It's the story of Sahil who is NOT gay but is assumed to be one because of his feminine demeanor. He is always bullied and laughed at for being gay, which bothered him a lot as a child. But slowly Sahil learned to laugh it off by cracking jokes on himself which earned him a lot of popularity and made him friends with everyone. Sahil was still assumed to be gay by many but he stopped explaining and learned the art of just being himself and happy. During college, he along with his friends started a YouTube channel which becomes a hit after Sahil confessed that he is indeed gay but not the way people think. He introduced the concept of being happy and gay which earned him many followers. Life had started pouring money and success upon Sahil but things we're not the way they appeared. The success which had started pouring in had a cost that Sahil had to pay. The last few pages in the book bring such a thrilling twist to the story that makes this book even more interesting.

The book has been written in the form of a story within a story which makes the narration interesting. The language is lucid. The storyline and flow are gripping. The character of Sahil is interesting but the other characters are a bit hazy. The cover of the book is apt and beautiful. Overall it's a nice book with an interesting plot.

"Everything has a solution. The only thing that you need is to search for it."
.

The book 'Being Gay' by Sandeep Sharma works as an actual inspiration to many of us. It opens the concept that being different is Ok and people need to accept this fact. They should accept the presence of the different personalities and give peace to them. Well it certainly is not that book as i have expected it to be but there is a totally different story with an essence of newness in it.
.
The story is about Sahil, who is quite different from others in appearance but is actually not. His school life tends to be a little difficult with all those teasings but after his father's advice he makes a way out of it. Then his encounter with Guru Lotaram was quite amazing, his story inspired Sahil and gave him a way to lead his life further. He went to college and became the fame of 'Being Gay.' He started leading a life of fame and joined hands with his friend's father Raj, who was a great businessman. But that was the end of his life. " I never realized that I was signing my death warrant," was the line that Sahil said while signing the contract. What is the further story? What are secrets that lay behind? Will Sahil be able to lead a happy life? To know that you should definitely read this amazing story of Sahil. His story will make people laugh and get inspiration from him.
.
It is not always true what it appears it to be. Because of Sahil's feminine nature he was usually misinterpreted, but was he actually a gay. He fell in love twice in his life and that too with girls but the twist in the end actually amazed me. That twist within the last 20 pages changed most of the things and I started relating to it. It is actually a description of 'book within a book' which is fascinating. I love the part where the writer ends the chapter with a quote. The narration is in a conversing manner which is quite engaging. Totally appreciate the author's message and loved the book.

Being gay - Sandeep Sharma

After reading the title I assumed this book must be about lgbtq+ community but the blurb suggested otherwise. So anyway I decided to read this book as I was very curious. The book started at a very slow pace and was about the main protagonist's life in school and how he had to face a lot of difficulties because of his feminine voice and behavior. He was constantly bullied because of that. So this part wasn't much interesting.

There were some chapters where the author described some incidents which changed his life like running away from home on his bullet, meeting baba lotaram, getting into a college, the formation of NUTS, etc. The pace of the book changes from here along with a major development in the character's life.

I have mixed feelings for this book. Like, in the end, I was so confused by the way the story was heading. I couldn't make out the head or tails of the story and I was sure that I am gonna hate this book but the major twist in the last chapter changed my mind and the ending didn't seem bad to me. I think the ending of the story makes up for all the confusion and unnecessary drama as it completes the story. It might be predictable but honestly, I didn't predict it.

The language and writing style of the author is simple so even if you are a beginner you can pick up this book. The cover of the book is very eye-catching and I decided to read the book because of the cover only. The title though not match with the blurb or the context, is still perfect for this book which you might understand after reading the book. It is a very short read with approx 140 pages.

We often raise our voice over the concern that society expects women to “fit in“. However, at the same time, men are also pressurised by this same society to conform to the norms and and be “manly” enough.
Sahil, was an effeminate boy. His feminine personality invited slurries of attacks and people labelled him as gay, despite being straight. However, with time, he discovered the formula of getting along with this society and learnt to laugh at himself along with others. Despite receiving such negativity, he used his inner power and goodness to spread positivity, and as the novel proceeds, we come to know about the story of awakening of Sahil and the secrets that lie behind it. Sunaina, who happened to bump into Sahil’s book, which has apparently been banned from the market, senses something suspicious about his story and sets out on a venture to find him.
Sex and gender are often used interchangeably. Sex is what we are biologically born as but gender is the role that we WANT to play. But what happens when one’s instincts, desires or attributes contradict their sex? Society terms them as being NOT NORMAL and therefore unfit for socialisation. They are ridiculed, bullied, attacked infinitely until they question their own identity and existence, suffer from inferiority complex, and get secluded from this so-called society into a gloomy cave of mental agony and engulfing loneliness. This book throws light on this critical theme and goes beyond it. It weaves together a plot with enough twists and turns that kept me glued till the end. I enjoyed the second half of the book more as it was more fast-paced and crisply narrated. I liked how the narrative continuously questioned my trust on the characters, and pushed me to think whether I hate or like them.
This book despite being such a short one has a lot to offer. The novel is no less than a mystery and I would like to recommend it to everyone for a short and thrilling read.

Captivating

Once in a while, we come across a book or a story that makes a mark in our heart. This book is one of them. Firstly judging from the title, the book seemed related to LGBTQ. Then while reading the book, it appeared that it is a social issue awareness book. But in the climax, it took an unexpected turn and made me anxious to finish it up.
Recommended to everyone. Language is simple English and so, anyone can read this book.

'Being Gay' is a book which is more than you think! It's surely many folds entertaining, thought provoking and thrilling than I thought! I don't know what grasped me... But it made me stay with the book for full five hours, till I finished it! The story plot is so new and gripping!

Sahil is different from people around him! He is not a gay but his looks are feminine. And that has brought its own ill effects right from his childhood. His classmates started teasing him for his weird walks and that pushed him into solitude. That day his fathers advice changed his life... Whenever someone smiled at him, he laughed! Whenever people cracked a joke on him, he cracked 5... And that worked too well!

As he entered the college life, he made many friends and was so happy about it. Their YouTube channel which had never crossed 500 views, unexpectedly reached Millions just because of Sahil and his words in screen! It's an instant hit and many things favourable and unfavorable started following him... There's a thing that you don't know about him... Yes, it's a secret only his parents knew about him... What's that?

That last twenty pages are so thrilling and it elevated my heart beat rate. The twists in the last 10 pages... Ohh... I have no words!! The entire pace of the book is normal but the last twenty pages are like a roller coaster ride... Moreover, it sensed like I was reading some other crime thriller novel!

The writing style is too simple and note worthy. This book is in a format of 'a book in a book' and it is greatly amusing. It has a good flow right from the beginning and I loved reading this book so much!

The best thing in this book is that there are connectives in the former chapters and those last ones. 'Oh! This is why the author mentioned it ago! Yes!' Isn't that exclamation is the true success of the book? Loved it... Loved it... Loved the book too much!

Sometimes it happens with me that I see a book title, glance through blurb and imagine what would be the context of the story primarily. Coz hey, don't they sometimes seem rather bit easy to imagine?
But...you think you know something, and then it turns out to be so different.!!
That's what happened here with this book, and I was blown by how the book with such a seemingly simple plot unfolded and kept me on toes & guessing till the very last page!!

Sahil is not a typical masculine guy...rather he has a bit feminine persona owing to which he has been subjected to bullying all his life in school and college by being termed as Gay. But he's not the sorts to draw back or fight back.
Rather, with his wits and humor, he turns situations in his favor, and slowly makes a unique space for himself in lives of all around him as just a happy and gay person.

Life takes him down the college road where he comes up with idea of a youtube club 'Being Gay' with his friends and starts posting videos, which go viral and break the internet. His unique personality, thoughts and public speaking skills are now his showman traits, and he eventually rises to a star status with funding from a big investor. But where will this journey take him? And what will life throw at him for being a star of 'Being Gay'?

I must say the story was articulated amazingly for the most part. Never saw the ending coming..
Though few sub plots felt rushed up and could have been built up with more substance to make the story more impactful overall.
The language is simple & the flow is smooth. It's a short easy, engrossing read.!!

Have you read a book that starts with a normal pace, slowly creating the plot, and when you become comfortable with it, it suddenly hits you with the perfect amount of thrill to keep you hooked till the end?⠀
This is one of those books who have a mind blowing turn of events in last few pages.⠀

Being Gay will make you think about various aspects of your life, it will make you question yourself about whether you are truly Gay.⠀

According to Sahil it is good to be happy and Gay, and it is even better to be Gay with a loved one. It doesn't define who you are, whether a male or a female, being Gay simply is a state of happiness, where you can be truly you.⠀

Sahil is not just Gay, he is happy and Gay. He has feminine attributes. He makes people laugh with his Gayness, this doesn't make him sad, rather he likes it. He just wants to know what is his story.⠀

After being pulled down for his feminine attributes, Sahil along with his friends starts a YouTube channel "NUTS" which later gets renamed as "Being Gay".⠀

Somehow, his life changes and he gains popularity through the internet. He becomes the crazy Gay who has answers to everyone's questions. ⠀
He tells people to live for the passion, focus on it instead of love. But destiny plays its role and he meets Ragini who changes his life forever.⠀
Eventually things go haywire when Sahil is removed from the channel.⠀

What happens to Sahil?⠀
Why is he declared mentally ill?⠀
Why does Ragini vanishes in thin air?⠀
Was it really because of destiny, or did someone kill them?⠀

As you keep reading the last pages, these questions keep killing you, and the end leaves your mind completely awestruck.⠀
I was truly impressed by the writing style & the way author has presented the whole story in differnt parts.⠀

This book isn't what it looks like on the outside. Isn't that the whole purpose of a psychological thriller?⠀

I recommend this book to everyone. You will complete it in one sitting and it won't disappoint you for even one minute.⠀

Sahil was not gay, not in the sense we perceive it today. He was just happy and gay being himself. Happy on his own skin but he had no idea why people loved to make fun of him, just because he is effeminate? He noticed that people loved to laugh when he was around so he assumed himself of being funny and that's how it started. Sahil had a different approach in life and in his journey he has met with unique people who has shaped him over the years. But the unique experiences has changed him too drastically and Sahil's life has changed forever.

'Being Gay' is a coming of age novel that explores different schools of thought. This is such an interesting story that is purely character driven, a character who has different take on love and relationships. Often life throws surprises to us and something similar happens to the character here who is an effeminate boy in search of answers. Sahil is a person who has rich feminine personality and the book revolves around him as he grows up. This book beautifully captures the social aspect of a person who is different. Sahil here being the main character who is oblivious of the cruel world is happy and gay but not really gay and to find why the world is like 'The World' he starts his journey, unaware of destiny. Along his journey he meets unexpected people and comes across unexpected situations, leading to some self reflecting thoughts. Although the character seems like a people pleaser, I like how he tries to elevate peoples lives alongside him, he is definitely an unique personality in this book.

The plot though is not that strong, it's good but sounds far fetched sometimes. Although the way the plots are streamlined makes this book very engaging. Coming to the writing style, it is good and simple. Small chapters making this book super fast and easy. Recommended to beginners.

The book which manipulated and tricked me😅

The story is about Sahil whose favourite colour is pink and he is not gay. He is the face of "Being Gay" society and their tagline goes like this...
"Be Happy and Be Gay"
Sahil's every word makes a tremendous impact on his audience and his every word is Mantra to his fans. And he is the face of a new revolution.

What has he done to gain so much love and popularity?? who actually Sahil is?? and he is definitely hiding something dark... a suspenseful journey is awaiting ahead for him.

"Name, identity, face, voice, all vanish...just the stories remain"

When I started reading, at the beginning of the first few chapters I couldn't agree with the ideology put forth by Sahil so I barely liked him then after the story progressed further I was cogitated into this book...and it was a great surprise for me how the entire story unfolded. seriously the twists, and plots are super exciting!!!!

And this book thought me to "Be happy and be gay"

Quoting a stance from the book

"Life is all about searching for happiness
But where does it lie? The journey
Of his life is full of questions, but
The answers are still hidden."

Being Gay is a beautiful story of Sahil - a guy who has a feminine personality and is hence, the subject of ridicule for a lot of people. Initially, he used to feel bad. But then, he started applying the tactic of reverse psychology and the people started liking him more. Due to an accident, Sahil becomes depressed and loses interest in everything. In pursuit of true happiness, Sahil starts travelling and what he learns in this course of his travel, is something that the readers will love.

Being gay is a compelling Fiction novel which skillfully tackles the up and coming issue of feminine personality. I loved the way the author brought together the entire story. This book had a very unique storyline and the author has addressed various issues which are generally not brought to light.

The plot gradually builds throughout the course of the story and my anticipation kept me turning pages. Once I started reading the novel, it was very difficult for me to put it down. The book featured a mangled web of deceit and conspiracies which added on to the thrill of the book.

There was dual narration. The book oscillated between a book written by Sahil and the present time where Sunaina is reading that particular book. Despite this to and fro narration, the book doesn’t get boring or baffling.

Coming to the characters, I think I need to admit that every single character was descriptively penned. The author managed to bring the characters to life. Every aspect of the characters’ personality was embossed and I loved every character.

Finally, I would recommend this book to everyone looking for a read which differs from the generic books.

"𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 𝒄𝒐𝒑𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒆𝒙𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂𝒏 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘."

If you think this book is about genderfluid then your assumption is FALSE.
If you stop midway and judge the book by the cover then definitely you are going to miss a queer read.

After reading the title I assumed this book must be about lgbtq+ community and all. So anyway I decided to read this book as I was very curious.
The title though not match with the blurb or the context.

Now coming to the cover, you know I never thought this could be a photograph of a famous personality. Yes, the photograph used in the book cover is none other than Mr. Sushant Digvigikar, who was crowned as Mr. Gay India in 2014, that embellished the overall look of this book.

The story of Sahil who has a feminine personality and that's how he was different from others.
His school life was a bit difficult with all the bullies and teasings because of his appearance and in all this thing, the only support is his father.
But after going to the college, he got fame from "being gay" and soon started living a life as a celebrity and people started looking at him as an idol. But there also he had gone through lots of ups and downs and also faced the dirty politics.

Sahil was always interpreted as gay but in his life he had loved two times and for the both time, it was a girl but the sudden twist at the end of the story is actually the most interesting part. Ending is totally unpredictable and OUT OF THE BOX.

The book is thought-provoking and filled with surprises.
It also changes the concept of being different and that people need to accept that it's okay to be different and society should accept them and should give their space and peace to them.

I am totally impressed and appreciate the author how he weaved the story.

Wow.. what a read...!!! Well, I've never ever expected that type of plot and storyline. By looking at the cover and title of the book, one can easily guess the theme of the book. And if you've guessed it, then lemme tell you that you are wrong.

So the book presents a story of Sahil, who's not a 'gay, but an effeminate boy. He's always been bullied by friends and society. On one side he's struggling with his own personality, but on the other side, he has something sparkling about his nature. He's good at making friends and public speaking. He later evolves into a 'love guru' in his college.

These things help him to get popular and soon he launches his own venture 'being gay' with the help of his friends. Well, 'being gay' is nothing but his philosophy for living a happy life that he has discovered from his own journey. But soon he finds out his blunders after falling in love with someone and then ends up signing his own death warrant. What makes him to do so? Why does he want to end the revolution that he himself created?

We live in a society where everyone is judged by their appearance, complexion, racism, opinions, etc. If someone is effeminate that doesn't mean he's gay. Who are we to judge people?

The book is well put down in a dual timeline. I've always been a fan of books with dual narratives, books that are actually a book within a book, and definitely books with dual timelines. The start of the book seems a little bit slow. But the ending is the roller coaster that you will surely enjoy. It's a short read, but trust me it'll surely bedazzle you.

After reading the title, if you expect an LGBTQ story, then big NO! I'm gonna rub it in your face, it's not what you expect from the title to be a gay story which the author has clearly stated in the blurb, but instead, it is a story of how a man with feminine characters, kinda effeminate who struggled for a long way to be finally happy and gay about himself.

The story commences with a guy named Sahil, who is good at making friends and public speaking and held a feminine personality. As I said the story doesn't talk about any sexual intention but it conveys not to judge someone's discretion based on their physical appearance and attitude. To Sahil, he was just a happy guy like any people but has endeavored his childhood due to his feminine look. The character outlining of Sunaina, Vani, Ragini, and Inspector Suraj is inciting the story. In the end, there are unexpected twists that no one would have thought of. The book is thought-provoking and filled with surprises.

The flow of the story is great and gripping to me. The language and writing style of the author is modest so even if you are a beginner you can pick up this book and go for a read. The cover of the book is eye-catching. The title opts which you will realize finishing the book. This book is a quick and fun read. I assure this book would teleport you to their world, that's where the author wins in grabbing the attention of the readers. The hard work of the author is witnessed in the book. All the best to the author and looking forward to his next book!

🕺Hola bookstagrammers! How about a book whose story is completely different from its title?
--
🕺The book starts with Sunaina, who visits the bookstore as she does whenever she's depressed. She chances upon a banned book named The Memoir of a Lost Man and begins reading it. The book is about a man named Sahil, who has a feminine personality but is not gay. He was everyone's clown and love guru. During college, Sahil and his friends started a YouTube channel named "Being Gay". Their videos became an instant hit when Sahil confessed he is indeed gay but not in the way others think!
--
🕺 Sahil introduced the concept of being happy and gay via their videos and this earned them various followers. Sahil soon started doing live shows and this began to pour in money and fame, but with a heavy price to pay for! What happens to Sahil during his live shows? Will he come out alive of the turmoil?

🕺" 🅱🅴 🅷🅰🅿🅿🆈 🅰🅽🅳 🅱🅴 🅶🅰🆈!
This book has been written in the form of a story within a story which makes the narration quite interesting. Sahil's character has been written with apt depth, though I wouldn't say the same for the other characters. The author leaves you confused with the climax at first, but read it again and you'll be surprised!

🕺 When I picked up this book, I thought it was related to the LGBT community. But, I was proved wrong. I read this book in one go and it's quite fast-paced. I would recommend this book to those who love fast-paced stories with a mind-boggling climax!

'Being guy' is an attempt at normalizing everyone who are very normal but don't consider by the society and more importantly accepting oneself and finding love through the unconventional tale. It is for the one who are shunned, who are never accepted into the mainstream society, who make their own path, who learn to laugh on themselves with others.

This is the story of Sahil, a man with feminine characteristics, so always consider different and never fully accepted by others till he finds his own way with the help of his father and baba lotaram and learn how to make his own path, how to find his way in life and this incident change things for Sahil. But, if you're thinking this is the same old LGBTQ book we read this days, oh man then get ready to blow your mind away. Because this is an unique tale with an totally unexpected climax.

As a reviewer let me warn you, the book is totally different then what the cover shows. Though this the book of acceptance and finding oneself but its a very unconventional tale. This is not the our regular 'guy' story but this is the story of 'being guy'.

It's a gripping tale with an interesting and unique plot filled with twist that will make reader curious. It's a tale blended with romance, acceptance and tragedy that will make you think.

Its simple and gripping writing style, crisp and engaging narration its an interesting book with many secrets.

"Being Gay" by Sandeep Sharma is a true masterpiece that serves as an inspiration to many. It challenges conventional notions of being different and advocates for acceptance and understanding in society. The book surprises readers with its unique plot and storyline, offering a refreshing perspective.

The protagonist, Sahil, is a remarkable character who embodies both uniqueness and relatability. Throughout his school life, he faces the challenges of bullying and teasing due to his appearance, but finds solace and support in his father. As he enters college, Sahil unexpectedly becomes famous for "being gay," catapulting him into a life of celebrity status where he becomes an idol to many. However, his journey is far from smooth as he encounters numerous ups and downs, including navigating the treacherous world of politics.

Despite being perceived as gay, Sahil experiences love twice in his life, both times with girls, adding an intriguing layer to the narrative. The unexpected twist at the end adds further intrigue, leaving readers captivated until the very last page.

Overall, "Being Gay" is a compelling read. Sandeep Sharma's storytelling prowess is evident as he expertly narrates the tale, capturing the readers' attention throughout. The title aligns perfectly with the plot, emphasizing the core theme of the book. However, I must admit that the book cover left me somewhat unsatisfied, as it didn't fully capture the essence of the story within.

BOOK: Being Gay
AUTHOR: Sandeep Sharma
GENRE: Fiction, suspense

The author put his five years of hard work to write this amazing book. So, firstly I would like to appreciate the efforts of Sandeep Sharma. This story revolves around a boy Sahil who had a feminine personality. His way of living life was different from others. And that's why he chose a step which changed his life in many aspects.

Firstly, he was not gay but he had qualities that made everything his friends. Everyone made jokes on his personal and that's why he started his YouTube journey with the name of being gay. He got famous within time but it went in the wrong direction where he had to face many consequences of it. This book accurately portrays the power of media and internet. Media made his life totally helpless and portrayed Sahil as a mental patient.

Many ups and downs happened with Sahil which I am not going to reveal this time. For this, you will have to read this amazing book. I would like to say that author has done more hard work for this book which seems after completing this book. The language is very simple and easy to understand. And the cover page is very beautiful and relatable to the book title. I would rate this book 5 stars. And also would like to suggest this book to everyone who wanna read something different from love stories.

Lovely book , well written

The book " Being Gay " is written by Sandeep  Sharma.
The protagonist we have in this book is a by name Sahil and he has a feminine personality , he is happy and gay and that's how he is different from everyone else in his community . Sahil has a very different approach for almost everything in his life , especially towards the relationship things  . Sahil becomes a part of a YouTube channel and forms a society name "being gay"  and the society manage together crazy money inflow and that's how sahil's  life changed forever.

The whole story in this book is about Sahil and the revolution that he himself wanted to end .

This book is pretty very much interesting and the plot is  totally gripping . I couldn't take a break while reading this book . The way , life of Sahil is portrayed and the way the behaviour and non- accepting attitude of society is portrayed is just to deep and clear . The way Sahil accepts the behaviour of people and the way he reacts to the reaction of people worked well with his life . The ending of this book is too much thrilling and full of suspense and the twist that we get to see towards the end of the story was just to unexpected . The writing style is fabulous, the vocabulary is simple and the message is conveyed very well . I totally loved reading this book and i recommend this book to everyone , do read the out .

Sandeep Sharma has critically accomplishes the book.
He explores and fearlessly expresses a wide range of topics questioning, negatively and bullying for that matter.
As the blurb already portrays, Sahil is a feminine personality who needed to try hard to fit in the society.

The perspective of gender and sexuality is objectively defined breaking all the normal storytelling elements.

While leading his life admist the "questioning" around him, Sahil still becomes popular and interacting with his friends and a good public speaker.

Sahil tends to become the relationship consultant for his friends and and spreads his intellect in this field.

But what is his life actually?

In the busy life of internet and social media, no youth remains without following "influencers" . Sahil starts his YouTube channel"Being Gay" and becomes a popular figure in lure of money and fame his life changes forever.

The book is exciting in a very suspenseful and subtle ways. I would recommend till to all readers who don't pick up books to read by their covers because the cover wouldn't be sufficient to justify the book content.

The language in the book is quite appreciable and the book would leave you in a mess of a feeling. A bit of confusion and anger and pleasure. Everything all at once.

Totally recommending it for a short yet astonishing read.

Beautiful Story

This story is about a boy named Sahil who is not gay, but just a little different from others. He had a different approach to almost everything and especially relationships. He became a kind of 'Love Guru' for his friends and really enjoyed helping them.
But then something happened that changed his life, and this change was the reason for everything that happened afterwards.
Sahil became the face of a big organization, which was once just a small YouTube channel. The organization was named 'Being Gay' and it's aim was to promote that instead of falling in love and allowing someone else to change our lives, why can't we all be happy and gay!
But what will happen if suddenly Sahil himself falls in love? What will become of the organization and most importantly what will become of Sahil?
This book accurately portrays the power of media and internet, and how it helps a person to gain fame, love and respect but the same can also become the downfall and destroy everything that the person had earned through years and years of hardwork.
I cannot say that i love the book but it's a great read. There were some instances which I thought could have been more elaborated. But overall the story line is great and I enjoyed it.💖

Cover Page: The cover depicts a handsome guy in the middle and lots of #beinggay on placards. After reading the book you know that the #beinggay is trending and hence used. So Kudos for the cover.

Review: So when I brought the book, I had not read the blurb, just brought it coz I have the other book of author and liked it. So my initial view was that the story will be of a person who is gay and the struggles he faced with him accepting and then the society, but it was quite the contrary. The book is about Sahil who has feminine features and termed gay. The story is about his life struggles and how he becomes famous all of a sudden.

What I liked in the book was its ending, never expected it. The narration is quite simple but once the story starts you are quite gripped with the book. You will keep guessing what happens in the book. And the #beingay how was it founded and its role in Sahil’s life. I was quite impressed with the story( not thriller, no romance, but somewhere in the middle)

Though story wise there was no negative in the book, but there were few places with spelling and grammatical errors.

Overall, if you are looking for a change from thriller, romance & You want a hatke read ” Go for the Book”
