Franchement y a grave du potentiel parce que l'histoire est à la fois cliché et originale et le style de dessin est cool mais comment ça a tout gâché le fait que Arte tombe amoureuse de son maître alors qu'il est plus âgé j'espère sincèrement ça va pas se développer en romance et que ça va devenir le centre de l'intrigue genre. Parce que le plot de base c'est que Arte est une jeune aristocrate de 16 ans qui plaque tout pour devenir peintre et on suit tout son travail pour arriver à réaliser son rêve malgré la misogynie ambiante à la Renaissance mais si le plot commence à s'orienter vers une love story avec un boug + âgé au lieu de se centrer sur son indépendance ça va vite me souler donc j'espère vraiment que la suite me décevra pas.

Pues si, tal como dicen "Arte" es una maravilla. Está ambientada en la Florencia del renacimiento y la protagonista es una chica que no se conforma con que su única salida sea casarse o un convento. Es testaruda y se esfuerza muchísimo por conseguir lo que quiere: vivir de manera independiente sin depender de nadie.

Klasszikus tanmesei megoldásokat felvonultató bájos történet a női szerepekről.
Főhősnőnk, Arte, egy firenzei nemesi család sarja és bolondul a művészetekért. Édesapja támogatta a lány ambícióit, megfelelő tanárokat fogadott mellé, hogy tudjon rajzolni és értse a művészeteket. Amikor a felesége jelzi neki, hogy ez marhaság, hiszen így nem találnak majd neki férjet, az apa azt mondja, hogy biztos akad majd férfi, aki úgy becsüli majd a lánya szemében az alkotás közben megjelenő csillogást, mint ő.
Persze a történet úgy kezdődik, hogy húz egy Disney-t: az édesapa meghal, Arte anyja pedig elégetteti a lánya összes rajzát, és közli vele, hogy megfelelő hozomány híján itt az ideje olyan elfoglaltság után néznie, ami vonzóbbá teszi őt a házassági piacon, növesszen feleségskilleket meg ilyesmi, hogy majd egy férj eltartsa őt. Artét azonban nem abból a fából faragták, hogy az anyai szándék előtt meghajoljon, elhatározza, hogy mesterinas lesz, hogy később művésszé váljon és magát tartsa el. A műhelyek azonban kidobják őt és meg sem nézik a rajzait, mondván, hogy egy nő nem lehet inas. Páros lábbal ki is rúgják mindenhonnan, a háborgó, haját levágó Artét meg rásózzák a hallgatag és emberkerülő Leóra. Ő egy félreértés miatt ad neki egy lehetetlen feladatot, amit viszont Arte teljesít, és ezért végül felfogadja inasnak.
A különböző történetek innentől kezdve nagyjából ezen a sémán mozognak: Arte nehéz vagy érthetetlennek tűnő feladatokat kap, amelyeket saját erőből old meg, közben pedig számos embert ismer meg, no meg a különböző női sorsokra is rálátást nyer. Így például az első megbízója, Veronica, a híres firenzei kurtizán mutatja meg neki, hogy miért viselkedik másokkal Arte által kifogásolható módon. Szintén ebbe a körbe tartozik Dacha, aki alulfizetett varrónőként gyűjt a hozományára, és a társaival nem kapnak tisztességes munkát a megbízójuktól.
A rajzolás egyébként tetszetős, bár a Bride Story mércéjét azért nem üti meg. Alapvetően nem azt a vonalat követi, hogy az ember elrettenjen a középkori környezet kinézetétől, inkább a társadalmi szerepeket próbálja bemutatni. Arte amúgy egy szerethető főhős, aki csak azért is meg akarja mutatni a világnak, hogy képes arra, amire egy férfi, viszont gyakran szeleburdi módon viselkedik. Maga a történet egyébként, legalábbis addig, ameddig elolvastam, nélkülözi az igazán nagy drámákat, bár ezek nem is hiányoznak belőle. Amit esetleg kihagyhattak belőle, azok viszont pont a humoros jelenetek, amelyek szerintem egy kicsit megtörik a történet ívét. (Na jó, például az ünnepi nyilvános boncolás egy kifejezetten jól sikerült jelenetsor volt). A másik, ami egyáltalán nem hiányzik, az a szerelmi szál, amelyet elkezdett a szerző kibontani.
Kíváncsi vagyok, hogy a továbbiakban hogy alakul a történet, mindenesetre aki szeretne egy középkori itáliai környezetben játszódó, női szerepekről szóló tanmesét olvasni mangában, az nem jár rosszul az Artével.

Arte名字很明顯是從"me too"運動象徵簡提列斯基（Artemisia Gentileschi）來的，故事倒完全兩樣……家道中落的貴族小姐跑去當學徒，在現實中很少見，一個世紀後真實版的簡提列斯基是女承父業（跟明代仇珠一樣），不幸被父親找來的老師強暴了，之後以女性復仇主題的畫作聞名於世（「游擊隊女孩」很愛她，英國國家美術館本月本來要幫她辦特展，但因疫情延後）。
話說回來《Arte》開篇雖然跟史實有點遠，又充滿勵志故事老哏，但還不難看，而且故事進展算快，一點也不拖泥帶水，讓人有追看的動力。妙的是，漫畫家似乎覺得文藝復興的藝術工作者與其說像當代的藝術家，不如說是漫畫工作室的前輩。
最後想提醒出版社，翻譯最好找個熟美術史的人校對，否則將木板畫（板絵）譯成版畫（版画）會貽笑大方。

Compré Arte para regalárselo a mi hija adolescente a la que le obsesiona dibujar, pensando que podría gustarle. De hecho, se lo pedimos por carta a los Reyes Magos, que le trajeron este primer tomo, y la verdad, si lo explico es porque yo no tenía intención de leerlo.
Bueno, como podéis ver al final lo leí. Y no me arrepiento. Es un manga shojo que se aleja de las convenciones del género para convertirse en lo que en Occidente solemos definir con el término inglés young adult, ese tipo de libros que pueden ser disfrutados por el hijo y por la madre o en mi caso el padre al mismo tiempo sin perder un ápice de la reflexión (que la mayoría deja en el tintero) ni la diversión. Y Arte ofrece las dos cosas en su justa medida, a la vez que nos enseña con todo lujo de detalles cómo es la Florencia del siglo XVI.
La historia es la típica historia de aprendizaje de un oficio tantas veces vista en la novelas del género (véase El médico, El sanador de caballos – por poner ejemplos populares -) con la diferencia que aquí nos encontramos con una protagonista que, a pesar de intentar romper con las convenciones de la época, lo hace con la mentalidad de su época, y eso es algo destacable, pues en demasiado manga o novela históricos te encuentras con que los personajes parecen sacados de cualquier calle del siglo XXI. El lenguaje usado en la traducción, no obstante, es actual, moderno, comprensible, y como es habitual en el manga japonés cualquier término que entrañe dificultad es explicado bajo la viñeta correspondiente. Hay también unas páginas bajo el título “Historias paralelas” en las que se nos explican curiosidades que nos atañen y que nos meten más todavía en la ambientación histórica.
Al final del libro, como es costumbre, en unas pocas páginas se nos explican dificultades en la elaboración del volumen que estamos leyendo, con la diferencia que aquí, usando el recurso visto en la novela histórica, estas páginas finales pueden funcionar a modo de glosario y de comparación entre lo que la autora explica en el manga y cómo se sucedía la vida en la realidad de aquéllos tiempos.
El dibujo, además, es de una delicadeza sublime, se nota mucho la documentación de Kei Okhubo, que a buen seguro se ha basado en las afamadas Sofonisba Anguissola y Lavinia Fontana o quizá en otras pintoras que ahora no me vienen a la cabeza. Su retrato de la ciudad de Florencia tal y como era es espectacular. Tanto ella como sus ayudantes se han esmerado de lo lindo y eso hace que todo se disfrute más.
Lo dicho. Una gozada.

Pour une fan de la renaissance comme moi, c’était un plaisir de plonger dans l’Italie du XVIe siècle. J’ai particulièrement aimé le personnage d’Arte qui est pleine de motivation et hyper attachante. Le milieu du dessin qui m’a longuement fasciné est au cœur de ce manga et c’est un régal !

I liked this manga very much, despite the pretty common ropes and manga cliche we can observe in the scenario and in the character builing (the hard-working and strong-willed heroine, the lover who doesn't want to realize he loves her because of some age gap, and whatever), no doubt this manga is targeting a large audience, but it's really well done however. The plot is very catchy, and the serial itself gives the impression that you're reading an adventure novel. The graphics are really good, we can see that the author did a lot of research to render the most lively framework she could; the romance is pretty interesting, even if it's pretty cliché. Anyway, I found this manga better than number of actual production, and felt like I was in front of some quality work.

This was my first manga and I loved it so much.
I was so glad to see that this manga existed and I wanted to read it right away. It is very sweet, and in this first volume we follow our main character, Arte, as she becomes the apprentice of an artist in Renaissance Florence. I love that time period so much, and I live very close to Florence, so it was so beautiful to see these places that I know so well in a manga.
Arte's character is the sweetest, she's so determined to do everything she can in order to become a painter, and her and "Il Signor Leo" (in Italian) were just so fun to read about. He is so broody, but he's not so much with Arte and he just wants to see her succeed.
I will surely continue this series, and I can't wait to know more about these lovely characters!

Era da tantissimo che non leggevo un manga, ma questo non potevo perdermelo: Arte (di nome e di fatto), Rinascimento, emancipazione e anche una punta di femminismo sono i temi principali, temi che adoro e ricerco nelle storie che leggo. Le tavole poi sono davvero dettagliate ed eleganti, i disegni come piacciono a me. Non mi sbilancio con il voto solo perchè ho il sentore che il meglio deve ancora venire...
Per ora lo consiglio, spero non deluda andando avanti!

Esta nueva serie tiene tantos ingredientes que me encantan que era muy díficil que no me gustara: mujer que no quiere resignarse a lo que se espera de ella, toma las riendas de su destino, y si para ello tiene que dejar a un lado sus privilegios de noble, se hace y ya está.
En este caso, el contexto es la Florencia del siglo XVI, en pleno Renacimiento, y me parecía un destino de lo más apetecible ahora mismo. La vocación de Arte, valga la redundancia, es ser artista. Pero es extremadamente complicado que ningún pintor de entonces la tomara como aprendiz. Menos Leo... Un extraño artista que, aunque al principio la pone duramente a prueba, nunca la trata de forma diferente por ser mujer. Ya en este tomo estos dos personajes me han enamorado: ella por su forma de contener sus lágrimas y él cuando se intenta aguantar la risa.
En esta historia aparecen también otros personajes: un ayudante de otro artista que ayuda a la protagonista, una cortesana que le suele encargar obras a Leo, la madre de Arte que aunque se muestre severa con ella sólo espera asegurar su futuro, una ex criada de su familia que consiguió un buen matrimonio y que la recuerda con cariño... Y me han gustado las minihistorias que protagonizan al finalizar cada capítulo.
En fin, un manga con Historia, con arte, con algo que parece ser inicio de romance, con un dibujo muy detallado y con montones de curiosidades costumbristas de la época y relacionadas con la profesión, como por ejemplo la forma de preparar las tablas donde pintaban, los pigmentos, cómo estudiaban anatomía... Y todo eso salpicado continuamente con la reivindicación de tratarse de un mundo vetado para las mujeres.
Tengo mucha curiosidad por ver cómo sigue la trama.

J'adore les dessins, mais l'histoire n'est pas très prenante, et même l'évolution entre les deux personnages principaux ne me plait pas du tout. Ça ne me pousse pas à vouloir poursuivre.

What a way to start a series! I loved this first volume and I can't wait already to read the second.
It's always amazing then seeing mangas set in Italy and seeing how people represent it.
This one in particular is set for now in Florence.
I'm not always a fan of historical novels, but I have to say this one hit differently.
Our protagonist is a toal badass and wants to achieve her dreams at all costs. From the easy court life, she's now teleported into a more realistic world, and she seems to have no regrets about it at all.

What a way to start a series! I loved this first volume and I can't wait already to read the second.
It's always amazing then seeing mangas set in Italy and seeing how people represent it.
This one in particular is set for now in Florence.
I'm not always a fan of historical novels, but I have to say this one hit differently.
Our protagonist is a toal badass and wants to achieve her dreams at all costs. From the easy court life, she's now teleported into a more realistic world, and she seems to have no regrets about it at all.

¡Por amor al arte!
El Renacimiento no solo fue un periodo de iluminación y autodescubrimiento, también fue un momento histórico en la que se consagró la relación entre el aprendiz y el maestro como una característica vital. Una que ha perdurado siglos y que aún vive entre en el mangaka y el editor.
En 'Arte' de Kei Ohkubo viviremos de primera mano esta relación entre aprendiz y su maestro y además descubriremos a través de los ojos de su protagonista la ilusión por el dibujo y la dureza de ser despreciada simplemente por ser mujer.
A nivel técnico, su dibujo es detallista y elegante, pero donde destaca especialmente es a nivel divulgativo. El autor está bien informado sobre la época que retrata y lo hace de manera muy entretenida.

Mein erster Manga. Ich denke nicht, dass ich künftig voll in diesem Genre aufgehen werde aber diese Geschichte hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Die Zeichnungen sind sehr schön und die Story ist interessant. Arte ist eine starke Protagonistin die gegen die Konvention ihrer Zeit rebelliert um ihren Traum zu verwirklichen. Eine schöne Geschichte, die zeigt, dass man für seine Träume kämpfen muss, vor allem als Frau zu Beginn des 15. Jahrhunderts. Und leider auch manchmal heute noch.

En Arte conocemos a la joven que pertenece dicho nombre que le apasiona dibujar pero, en la Florencia del siglo XV, no estaba bien visto y tras una conversación con su madre decide no tomar el camino común que tomaban las mujeres para subsistir (casarse) y tomar el camino para ser pintora.
Por supuesto este camino no será fácil por su condición de mujer pero afortunadamente y no con falta de esfuerzo, consigue ser aprendiz de pintora en un taller que lo lleva un hombre un tanto serio pero aparentemente con buen corazón.
Con este planteamiento comienza a desarrollarse este manga, mostrando las primeras dificultades de Arte en el taller, como comenzar a vivir de manera independiente, la aparición de nuevos personajes, etc.
También hay que mencionar el dibujo de la autora que es bastante bueno sobretodo si te fijas en los detalles (fondos, ropas, etc) y en especial la atmósfera del renamicimiento, que particularmente me encanta. Con muchas ganas de ver como desarrolla Kei Ohkubo la historia de Arte.

Noooo bc this was so cute?? I picked this up randomly at the library yesterday and am this close to running back and getting the other volumes they have. Thank the stars reading a manga again after the Naruto-shaped rabbit hole that was my teenage reading habits didn't give me the war flashbacks I expected.

La verdad es que me ha entretenido muchísimo y me han sorprendido los constantes mensajes feministas.
Es una historia feel good donde, de momento, las cosas salen bien.
