Busting Loose from The Money GameMindBlowing Strategies for Changing The Rules of a Game You Cant Win

Rate this book
Real people, real transformations!

"Absolutely amazing! It completely shifts your paradigm for life. One of the most wonderful things about it is that the results are immediate. My whole perception and relationship to money has undergone a major, substantial change."
—Chris Attwood, writer and teacher, California

"I've spent most of my life trying to figure out what's true and what's real. I have to say I now have a clear glimpse into what it really is."
—Tom Hill, Colorado

"Before Busting Loose from The Money Game, I was very unhappy and frustrated in my life. I was driven to find more ways to make money. I changed jobs, cities, countries, went back to school, read books. Financially, the stress was causing anxiety attacks and migraines so severe I stayed in bed. The joy I feel now is priceless. Money is there when I need it, in the amount that's needed, no matter what occurs (car repairs, unplanned trips, etc.). It's absolutely amazing!"
—Suresh Thakoor, Texas

"As a retired professor on a fixed and limited income, I always lived from a tight budget and felt compressed by it-especially at the end of the year. I don't use a budget anymore and have opened up new streams of income that were always closed to me in the past."
—Howard Rovics, Connecticut

"It opened a whole new dimension for me and shifted my perspective on life completely. I especially love how practical it is. The application is so simple, so effective . . . and fun!"
—Doris Kahle, Hagen, Germany

"I'd had a lot of success in the corporate arena, made a ridiculous amount of money and lost a ridiculous amount of money. But I was caught in a cycle of making it, losing it. I needed to break that cycle-for myself and my family-and this gave me the keys to do that. Busting Loose from The Money Game opened a window I had no clue even existed. This is very cutting-edge, a revolutionary approach to unwrapping yourself from limitations. If you're not satisfied with where you are financially and you're concerned about your future, get this book!"
—Ben Coleman, Texas

First things first, the phrase "Don't judge a book by it's cover" was coined for precisely this book.

If you have a natural progression of reading that goes something like :

The Secret
The Power of Now
The Four Agreements
Loving What Is

Or if you have had a progression of:

Abraham-Hicks
Seth
etc

Then you MUST READ this book. It is not really about money , its not a gimmicky book, its not something you can read and every forget what you read.

You may decide to never follow the teachings, but I can bet you that you will never think of the world and reality the same again. It's that "tipping point" in your life where you can either grasp everything or just move back away from the cliff and keep your monotone existence.

Good luck :)

One of the weirdest books I've read this year! But I'm very pleased that I read it....or shall I say, "created this illusion and experience of reading it".

Had no idea what this book is about when it appeared on the list of books to read from my book club, reading its Chinese title (literally "You Deserve a Better Life") , I'd thought that this is just another book on motivation, affirmation, LoA...etc, but reading the original English title, I then thought maybe this book is on finance and economy; when I finally started reading it, things started to get strange....

Basically, this book's telling you that, "nothing's real, everything's an illusion, life is a game, just like a movie". And even the action of reading this book itself is part of the "script".

This concept is pretty brand new to me and mind-blown. What, I'm the Jim Carrey in the Truman Show?

I've always believed that life is like a game or a party anyway, we're all in this huge playground called life on earth; a free ticket was given to us and I just need to play and enjoy every ride; but there are hard times and the party's not always fun, especially when you've got no money or honey. This book says that, hard times and the feeling of lacking is also part of the game that we created for ourselves to play, to fool ourselves from the "fact" that "we already have everything", and to forever free ourselves- "busting loose", well, try reading this book, it is, really pretty fun.

The author attempts to combine law of attraction, NLP, quantum physics, and call it something new and innovative. This was a horrible long winded advertisement for his live classes. Given all of the hype I was thoroughly disappointed.

Absolutely terrible! The author spent more than half the book talking about his world view of how other people aren't anything more than a figment of your imagination and that you can change the numbers in your back account by just thinking about it. I'm a big believer in visualisation techniques, but this went way beyond giving advice. He actually said that if you think like him, you are on a higher level of thinking than anyone else, and if you didn't think the way he did, your thinking just hadn't developed yet. I'm ok with other peoples beliefs and world views, unfortunately this guy isn't. I'm sure the author could have got the point across quicker and better if he stuck to his topic a bit more.

Misappropriation of theories and pseudo science. This book is incredibly dated in 2017. Probably seemingly relevant in 2005 when The Secret and What The Bleep Do We Know came out. Basically full woo woo ideas.

I get where the author is trying to say but there are better, more science based books out there that will get you better results.

FYI - I read this to the end.

This book is pretty mind bending. I haven't really heard anyone talk about the nature of reality in this way, though there are others who are somewhat similar. I want to believe this. I think I can believe this. I think it takes work and effort to bend your mind around something initially that "goes against" the accepted and agreed upon ways of thinking, perceiving, and viewing the world/reality. But it doesn't mean it's impossible.

I’ve already started to see some synchronicities that I’ve appreciated and I will continue to appreciate this creation and all of my creations and express appreciation for all of it.

“You have a general purpose and a specific purpose. The general purpose is to play The Human Game and receive the benefits people receive from playing all games: fun, enjoyment, entertainment, challenge, stretching, expansion, exploration, pushing the envelope of what’s possible, and so on.
Your specific purpose is to play the Human Game in the unique and precise way you choose as a unique Infinite Being. We all play The Human Game, but we do it in completely different ways. Even when it looks like we’re doing the same things, doing things the same way, or for the same reasons, we’re not. Everything is custom designed for us as unique Infinite Beings. . .” pg. 14-15

“Here’s the answer to all the questions like these [why do we want to leave comfort for something hard, scary, and new?] that have occurred or may occur to you: Who you really are is a wonderfully adventurous spirit, ever eager to expand Itself and Its experiences. The Human Game of limitation is no big deal to the Real You. The real challenge of The Human Game is forgetting who you really are and hiding all your power so you can play in the first place!” pg. 19

“When you play The Human Game, however, you must create illusions that convince you you’re the exact opposite of who you really are—that is, convince you you’re a severely limited, restricted, vulnerable, fragile, poor, and weak creature who gets tossed about by people, places, and things you have no control over. That’s the equivalent of creating a bunch of clouds, putting them in front of the sun, and convincing yourself there’s no sun, the clouds are real, and the clouds are all there is.
To extend the metaphor, if it’s cloudy out, is the sun still shining? Yes. When there’s a hurricane blowing, is the sun still shining? Yes. If it’s raining, is the sun still shining? Yes. No matter what happens on our planet, the sun is always shining.
It’s the same with you. No natter what’s going on in your life, no matter what the circumstances look like, who you really are doesn’t change. You’re still an Infinite Being whose natural state is infinite power, abundance, wisdom, joyfulness, and peace. You just convinced yourself the opposite is true. . .” pg. 21-22

“Key Point: To make Phase 1 of The Human Game work, all Truth must be distorted or skewered to keep you away from it—and your power.” pg. 22

“The whole idea of visualization, affirmations, manifestation techniques, the Law of Attraction, and other popular self-help techniques are brilliant Phase 1 creations. Why? Because we create them, we convince ourselves they’re real, we apply them, but they don’t work consistently, and that creates confusion, frustration, and limitations that perfectly support the goals of Phase 1.” pg. 23

“Key Point: Part of the Phase 1 strategy involves teasing yourself into believing you can fix things, improve things, get things running smoothly, get everything you want, become wealthy and happy. By design, however, that can never happen while you’re playing Phase 1 of The Human Game—despite what all the self-help, success, personal growth, and spiritual gurus claim. This is a subtle but very important distinction to ‘get.’” pg. 24

“It’s always about feelings. The external experiences only matter to the extent that they trigger inner feelings.” pg. 28

“Inspired by Bohm, numerous scientists kept looking for the deeper order he asserted was there. They ultimately found it in the form of a gigantic field of intelligent energy that has many names but is most often called the Zero Point Field (hereafter referred to as The Field) within the scientific community.
The Field exists as energy with infinite potential that hasn’t been formed into anything yet. However, from that infinite potential, literally anything can be created. As scientists continued researching The Field, they developed a theory to explain how the physical universe is constructed from it. The theory involves four components:
1. The Field
2. Particles
3. The physical universe
4. Consciousness.” pg. 35

“Key Points
- Consciousness creates everything you experience, down to the smallest detail (including money and every aspect of The Money Game).
- You and your Expanded Self are Consciousness, so you are creating everything you experience, down to the smallest detail (including money and every aspect of The Money Game).
- The Human Game is a game being played entirely in Consciousness, and every detail is custom-designed by your Expanded Self to support you in playing The Human Game the precise way you want to play it.” pg. 40

“As the Creator of everything in your hologram, when you spend, you’re actually paying yourself since the money doesn’t actually go anywhere else. Your supply of money does not decrease as you spend. It actually increases if done in alignment with Phase 2. When anything else appears to be true, it’s a holographic illusion you’ve accepted as real.” pg. 70

“The Field = Unlimited power and infinite possibility” pg. 70

“Money is easily created—in any amount and appearing to come from any source—by simply creating a pattern in The Field, energizing it, and popping it into your hologram. Rich, poor, struggle, and ease are all equal holographic creations from different patterns in The Field. It takes the same amount of power and effort to create all of them.” pg. 70

Everything in your hologram is unreal. Everything is just a belief. . . . Conversely, if you remove all your power from a pattern, the pattern collapses, and whatever that pattern was creating in your hologram disappears from your hologram.” pg. 81

“Key Point
Your supply of money does not decrease as you spend. It actually loops back and then increases.” pg. 88

“Starting now, every time you pay bills, write checks, hand someone cash, or sign a credit card slip, you want to take a moment to appreciate your creation, yourself as the Creator of it, and the value you received.” pg. 89

“The way I was able to cultivate and expand those feelings was by repeating the following phrases to myself, over and over, and feeling, really feeling, the Truth and power of them:
I am the Power and Presence of God creating everything I experience, everything.
There’s no power out there, not in anyone, not in anything.
I am in Infinite Abundance, right here, right now.
Infinite power to create anything I want.
Infinite knowledge and wisdom.
Infinite feelings of joyfulness and peace.
Infinite feeling of unconditional love and appreciation for all my creations.
Infinite supply of money to press appreciation with, right here, right now.” pg. 104-105

“Here are the guidelines for applying The Process again for easy reference and review. When you hit the peak of intensity with any discomfort you feel, you dive into the heart of the discomfort and say:
‘I am _____ creating this.’ (Fill in the blank with the description you chose.)
‘It’s not real.’ (Really feel the meaning of the words.)
‘It’s completely made up.’ (Really feel the meaning of the words.)
‘It’s a creation of my Consciousness.’ (Really feel the meaning of the words.)
‘I reclaim my power from this creation NOW.’
‘As I reclaim the power, I feel it coming back to me.’ (Feel it.)
‘I feel it surging through me.’ (Really feel it surging.)
‘As I feel the surge, I feel myself expanding more and more into who I really am, expressing more and more of who I really am in my Human Experience. I am ______.’ (Insert the description you chose.)
Fully appreciate how amazing you had to be to create this and convince yourself it was real, how amazing the creation was, and how beautifully it served you in Phase 1.” pg. 107-108

“Key Point
Until you reclaim power from an egg/pattern, it will continue to appear real, act real, and have power over you.” pg. 111

“Using techniques that attempt to manipulate the holographic illusion doesn’t work either. You must actually reclaim power from limiting patterns in The Field in order to collapse them. While there may be another technique I’m unaware of, I know of no technique other than The Process that actually allows you to reclaim power from your Phase 1 limited creations.” pg. 111

“In Phase 1 of The Human Game, you were taught to be proactive, go out there and make things happen, take massive action, set goals and achieve them, get the job done. That pattern was so strongly installed within me that it took me nine months to reclaim the power and collapse it.” pg. 119

“In Phase 2, it’s the exact opposite. In Phase 2 you live in what I call reactive mode. You wake up in the morning and wait to see what gets popped into your hologram and what you feel motivated or inspired to do. When something pops in, you respond to it. When you feel motivated or inspired to do something, you do it. You do that all day long. Then you go to bed at night, wake up the next morning, and do it again. In Phase 2, there are no goals, agendas, or desired outcomes. There are no one-year plans, five-year plans, or ten-year plans. You squeeze your focus way back and take life one moment at a time.” pg. 119

“Phase 2 Toolkit:
- The Process
- Appreciation
- Mini-Process
- Vocabulary & Self-Talk” pg. 120

“Key Point
You can’t judge a creation, reclaim power from it, and collapse its pattern simultaneously. It’s simply not possible.
Let go more deeply into this key concept. In Phase 1, there’s the illusion of a cause and effect relationship between actions and results. We convince ourselves ‘If I do x and y I’ll get z.’ In Truth, there’s no such relationship from within the hologram. That is, there’s no cause in the hologram that creates an effect in the hologram. The True cause is always outside the hologram. The True cause is always your Consciousness, a pattern in The Field, and your power.” pg. 124

“In Phase 2, your goal is to see and really ‘get’ that nothing in the hologram is real and YOU have all the power. The goal is not to strengthen the illusion.” pg. 125

“Your hologram will change as you do the Phase 2 work. You could look at those changes and judge them as better. However, The Truth is, your life doesn’t get better. It just gets different and the differences allow you to play different games for the pure pleasure of playing them. When you reclaim enough power and regain enough of your Infinite Wisdom to be able to see this—really see it—and ‘get it’ at a very deep and profound level (which you will if you commit to playing the Phase 2 game), that’s the signal you’re about to bust loose from The Money Game!” pg. 126

“Key Point
If you want to bust loose from The Money Game, you don’t care what the illusions look like in your hologram along the way. You just go with the flow and apply your four treasure hunting tools as the opportunities arise.” pg. 127

“What to Expect in Phase 2
1. Expect to be uncomfortable.
2. Expect ‘weird things’ to happen.
3. Expect to have all your core beliefs challenged.
4. Expect to feel confused, frustrated, overwhelmed, and disoriented at times.” pg. 129

“Key Point
People in your hologram are actors saying and doing what you ask them to say and do. There’s no such thing as in character or out of character. There’s just what you ask them to say and do.” pg. 151

“Expressing appreciation in the form of money then becomes like breathing. You don’t worry about where your next breath will come from, do you? You don’t measure or track how much air is available to you right now—or how much will be available to you in the future. You don’t try to get more air or protect the air you already have. You just breathe without thinking about it, and you have total faith that the air will always be there for you. Living from your natural state of Infinite Abundance works the same way. You just breathe your abundance.” pg. 167

“It’s no longer about products, services, customers, sales, profits, income, salary, and so on. It’s about me and my fun and enjoyment. I’m just playing in creative ecstasy, expressing massive appreciation for myself, the creations I genuinely want to experience, The Human Game itself—and the rest, including money, takes care of itself.” pg. 172

“Key Point
The what you do in Phase 2 doesn’t matter. How and why you do it and the overall level of joyfulness and fun you receive from the experience is what matters.” pg. 173

“The ultimate goal of Phase 2 is to play The Human Game without any limits or restrictions. That really means no limits or restrictions. You can create and play with anything, no matter how Phase 1 it may appear from a certain perspective. You can play business games with no limits or restrictions. You can play medical games with no limits or restrictions. you can play war games, parenting games, teaching games, writing games, painting games, or space travel games with no limits or restrictions.” pg. 173

“Key Point
Opening to your Infinite Abundance means letting go of thoughts and concerns about how you will receive it or how you must act to receive it.” pg. 177

“So, if you had Cosmic Overdraft Protection, why would you need any more money sitting in an account somewhere or appearing to flow in as income—now or in the future? You wouldn’t. You also wouldn’t have any need for a net worth of any size or significance. Why would it matter how much money you had piled up if all your checks for doing absolutely everything you wanted or needed to do would be covered?
Do you see how deep the rules and regulations of The Money Game run? The need to earn as much as possible, sock money away, build up as large a net worth as possible, and so on is all based on the illusion of scarcity in the available supply of money. Once you take the scarcity away by opening to your Infinite Abundance, the need for piling up money completely disappears.” pg. 180-181

“Key Point
Limited is limited (no matter how big the numbers appear to get), infinite is infinite, who you really are is infinite and infinite is where you want to be after crossing the Busting Loose Point.” pg. 181

“Assuming you choose option number two as well, your life then becomes about asking and answering this question on an ongoing basis: What do I want to play with now, just for the sheer fun of playing? That’s why I call playing The Human Game in Phase 2 being in creative ecstasy, and, as I explained, as you continue expanding and changing, you’ll answer that question in different ways.” pg. 181

“Imagine you actually crossed the Busting Loose Point, opened into your Infinite Abundance, qualified for Cosmic Overdraft Protection, and were living in a state of creative ecstasy. If you were actually living in that space, would you still:
- Set goals?
- Care about the results you produce?
- Worry about your personal income or the profits in your business?
- Worry about where your next customer is going to come from or whether they can afford to pay for your product or your service if you’re playing the business game?
- Worry about what to do in any situation?
- Care about discounts or buying on sale?
- Care about how much money you have piled up in your accounts?
- Care about your income or net worth?
- Care about the value of your investments?
- Care about the economy or stock market?
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!
Why? Because none of it would matter to you anymore. Why set goals when you can create anything you want for the sheer pleasure of playing with it? Results are irrelevant when you’re playing the Phase 2 game after crossing the Busting Loose Point. There’s no longer any scarcity of money or limitation of any kind. Once you’ve tapped into an unlimited supply of money through your Cosmic Overdraft Protection, what do any of the numbers matter? What does it matter what the economy or stock market appears to be doing? You’re creating your own version of them in your hologram anyway.” pg. 185-186

“From a Phase 2 perspective, integrity, ethics, and morals are Phase 1 creations. They’re all made up. They’re all illusions made to appear real, like everything else in your hologram. The same thing holds true if you look at it honestly and objectively from a Phase 1 perspective. Throughout history, people have tried to come up with a single moral code of conduct that could be applied through the centuries and across cultures. You know that? It’s not possible. What we call integrity, ethics, and morals varies from person to person, time period to time period, culture to culture, and situation to situation.” pg. 201-202

“Remember: At all times, especially when the going appears to get tough, always remember three things:
1. What’s really going on: You’re reclaiming power, expanding, and changing in huge ways, even if it doesn’t always look or feel like it.
2. The Truth about the hologram in Phase 2: Once you enter Phase 2, nothing in your hologram will have any significance, meaning, importance, stability, or solidity except to the degree to which it supports you in doing the Phase 2 work.
3. Your ultimate destination: Playing The Human Game without limits or restrictions is a treasure that’s more valuable than any treasure you’ve ever heard about, read about, seen in the movies, or could possibly imagine from your current perspective. The little I sketched for you about what it’s like pales in comparison to what’s really possible for you in Phase 2.” pg. 212

“You’ll also want to remember that you cannot judge a creation, hate it, dislike it, want to change it, fix it, improve it, or make it go away—and—reclaim power from it simultaneously. Those are mutually exclusive events. At the start of your Phase 2 journey, it’s likely you’ll still have many judgments as you’re led to eggs to reclaim power from them. However, as you do the Phase 2 work, you’ll see judgment naturally fall away as you continue to expand.” pg. 212-213

Simply an extraordinary work and achievement. It doesn't matter who you are or what you have read in the past, if you choose to read this book seriously, it will turn your world upside down. For me it represents the most radical departure in spiritual awareness that I have encountered. If you have been looking for a 'solution' to such issues, a Truth to lead you to a more expanded experience of existence as a human then this book could be the one for you. After this, you will not NEED to read any more self-help books, although you may choose to.

This book blew my Mind! It shook me up in a most profound way. Although it's in the title, it is not a work about money (although it touches on it a bit), but a spiritual work regarding reality and illusions. The book doesn't just explain it's ideas, but gives helpful methods to break one's illusions. Simplifying the ideas in quantum physics, it asks one to live the Truth of who they are--for there is nothing else-nothing anywhere. I highly recommend this book!

Don't bother reading unless you are ready for embracing a new paradigm shift in life. If you have already experienced sartori or some other perspective shifting creation, you are probably ready for the strategies in 'Busting Loose.' And it's really not about the money game, unless that's all you want it to be about.

Busting Loose from the Money Game is one of the more interesting books I've read in a while. It is definitely a book that makes you think - I'd characterize it as an exercise in perception. You do have to suspend your beliefs about what reality really is in order to appreciate it at all. If that's not your thing, I'd skip this one.

This book to me was more about EVERYTHING than specifically about money. And I couldn’t put it down.

The first half of the book made me feel super present, plugged into the moment of reading and then plugged into the present moment as I moved through the rest of my day.

Don’t let the ugly cover fool you 😂

This is a book about breaking free from the matrix. Money just happens to be what gets our attention, because we’ve centered money around our worth and survival, etc.

Highly recommend this one if you want a perspective shift, but I will say if you have ZERO experience with something like mindfulness, yoga, reading self development books… then this might not be the place to start yet. I felt the concepts were easy to take in and try on because of all the previous learnings I’ve had leading up to this book.

But hey that’s just my perspective, which is a hallucination anyways 😂

A good friend recommend this book to me. But as a thinker trained in academic theology and philosophy, and I'd say adequate knowledge physical and neuroscience, Scheinfeld's argument cannot do the trick to me.

There are some Kantian idealism and Freudian psychology, and a bit of Husserlian phenomenology in the first half the book basically saying the perceived reality is upon our choice to construct it "as such" rather than reality-"an-sich". But Scheinfeld is clearly not philosophically trained. His language lacks rigor, and he neglects everything developmental psychology has to say about human/personality formation.

The second half of the book gets crazier like a "glorified" version of "beauty is in the eyes of the perceiver". He is basically claiming that we can alter/manipulate reality by hacking/tweaking our thoughts/consciousness. Just consider these two testimonies he proudly cites from students attending his workshop for whether this book is meant for you:

1.
//Deborah Mandas, a dentist client of mine, while attending a Busting Loose from The Money Game live event, created a fascinating Phase 2 experience for herself while going out for dinner with other members of the group. Prior to attending the dinner, she looked in her wallet and noticed $300 in it. However, when she opened her wallet again to pay for her share of the group dinner, she noticed there was an extra $500 in it. “I’m absolutely certain it was not there before and that I didn’t miscount,” she said.// (p154)

2.
//Michael Hackett, another attendee of a Busting Loose from the Money Game live event, created the following experience to how himself how powerful he was and the fact that he’s creating absolutely everything he experiences: Six of us went out to dinner last night. Because of my financial situation and a few other reasons, I live with my Dad who is70 years old. We’re really close. I just adore him. I called him while we were at dinner to say, “Happy Father’s Day,” and he said, "You’ll never guess what I bought. ”What,” I asked. "A Corvette,” he says.

...It turns out he bought a raffle ticket three months prior from a public broadcasting station and they’d just called to tell him he’d won a 2005 Corvette. My dad has had injuries to his knee. He’s about 6′2″and has a hard time bending that leg. You can ’get him into an ordinary car, so he drives a minivan instead. I was just so excited for him, just so happy.// (p.154-5)

3.
//One of the other attendees of the event who was at dinner with Michael when he found out about the Corvette added this:
...
In fact, he’s quite short of cash at the moment. After he ended his phone call with his dad, all of a sudden, out of the blue, as another round of beers was being delivered to the table, the waiter came up, handed Michael another beer and said, "That’s free because it’s the last of the tap.”
...
About 15 minutes after that, the waiter came back and announced they had found some more beer, and Michael could have another beer if he wanted—but he’d have to pay for it.// (p.155)

Oh. Did I say two testimonies but you saw three? You must be illusory.

This book is, as the author promises, a rollercoaster ride. It's engaging, weird, offensive and in parts wonderful.

I found it a gripping read to start with and there was plenty in this book that I appreciated. I loved the story of how a cup of hot chocolate with his grandfather in Switzerland set the author on a journey of discovery. I like entertaining the idea that life can be a game. It was a good reminder to embrace difficult emotions rather than run away from them.

But ultimately I found the book disappointing, both in the examples of what can be achieved through the method (e.g. the author decides he doesn't like paying refunds for his products, so he stops offering refunds; the nanny to the author's children is found drunk while responsible for childcare, so she's fired - to me these are outcomes of common sense decision making rather than incredible insights) and in the philosophy/worldview it presents.

There's a genre I enjoy that falls between self-help and fiction - with books like the Alchemist at the fiction end of this spectrum, and Slipstream Timehacking towards the self-help end of this spectrum. This book falls very much within that genre, and while it's fun and thought provoking, I do wonder if it could be dangerous if taken too seriously.

To use a common mystical metaphor, I think this book points in the right direction, but then mistakes the pointing finger for the moon.

The world is a weird, wonderful and wacky place, strange things happen -- this book is a good example of that, if nothing else.

The author strikes me as a Huckster. I can see how this book would be appealing to most since it absolves people of responsibilty for the happening of their life. Its all the "field".

I started out intrigued but got progressively more disenchanted reading. My eyes were rolled in the back of my head at the end.

Also, this author clearly does not understand the science of Quantum Mechanics, which he uses to lead all types of woo-woo conclusions not reflected in any research. He basically just uses it as an excuse to be self centered at the expense of others.

It just a lot of self help mumbo jumbo repackaged. I could go on but I'm not. This book is a massive disappointment. You would be wise to skip it.

Like this book, _A Course in Miracles_ also says that we do not actually perceive things as they really are. I had started to wonder if we were like in the _Spy Kids_ movies, playing in a virtual reality/video game. It is rather scary to start playing with perception because disperception can get folks labelled lunatics. But isn't it scary and saddening to walk around thinking you are more limited than you really are? It feels empowering to ask of every uncomfortable situation, why has my Expanded Self created this for me? What can I learn from it? Now what new situation do I want to create for myself?

This book was recommended to me by my daughter. Money seems to be a big issue in both our lives, so taking it as a sign (and following it!), I got the book and started reading. It's an easy read with lots of repetition without being condescending. The voice of the author is one of genuine passion for the message and the message has enormous potential to be truly transformative. I'm not sure I buy into his model completely, but that hardly matters. What does matter here is that a fairly simple shift in thinking can change your perspective and, therefore, your relationship with not only money, but everything you create I your journey through life!

Meticulous and considerate, "Busting Loose..." invites the reader to revisit fundamental assumptions about power, money, and meaning. Written in the context of why we seek status, value, and resource for our lives, Scheinfeld has, step by step, deconstructed the "consciousness of materialism" and remarried it with the wisdom traditions of yesteryears. Simply put, this book asks us to consider, "Why don't we look at money as a spiritual fact?" The answer can shake you, as it did for me, and provide a completely new way to engage with yourself and your life. One of the most impressionable and empowering books I've ever read.

I created this book to come into my hands at exactly the right moment.
It has given me great encouragement that I am on the "right" path along with some useful tools and refreshing chuckles.
I am really appreciating the life I am creating. It is SO fun.
I am appreciating another aspect of myself ( Robert Scheinfeld)for popping into my sphere and giving me so much joy.
If you don't know wtf I am talking about then you will when you read this book.

This is my second read of this book. I found it a "mental trip" the first time and less so the second time. I have been shifting since the first read and was pleased to find I had come a long ways in the years between reads. The ideas in the book are a big paradigm shift that I needed years to process and practice. If you are ready to have your world rocked and make some significant changes in how you view and live life, then dive in.

DNF this is one of the weirdest books I have ever tried to read. And it has absolutely nothing to do with money for the most part. I made it halfway before giving up. The reviews make it sound like money is going to appear in your bank account by magic, but it’s really more about psychology, physics, and perceptions. Just very, very weird ...

This book is horrible. It's full of gobblygook nonsense.
I have read a ton of other self-help & positive-thinking books, of which I love 90% of what I read.

Don't waste your time or money.....

It's not about money. It's about a new way of thinking. One of the most influential books of my life.

There’s not much difference between this and other new age spiritual teachings. It all depends on where you’re at. It was a helpful reminder to try and remain in constant state of gratitude or ‘appreciation’, as the author writes. The core teaching is to apply the so-called ‘process’ whenever you feel discomfort (particularly relating to money). The process involves diving head first into discomfort, feeling it deeply and reminding yourself of your infinite abundance. Having heard about this book before reading it, I was applying some of the ideas in my daily life. Trying to feel expansion and appreciation when paying for things rather than contraction and stress. This idea has been fairly beneficial, I feel as though I am becoming more aware of my emotions due to it.

Aside from the positives of the book, the whole book is written as a metaphor. There’s Phase 1 in which you (your ego) goes through life believing everything is real. There’s the ‘busting loose point’ where you start to discover what it really means to be human. Then finally there’s Phase 2. In Phase 2 everything is scripted and you’re the script writer, everything is an illusion that you create for yourself. Every form of discomfort in your life is an opportunity to apply the ‘process’, becoming more present and reclaiming your power. Whilst I totally agree with the author I feel as though his point could have been a lot clearer. He often describes life as a ‘hologram’ and the opportunities to recover your power as ‘eggs’. I have a feeling there’s books out there that demonstrate these ideas more clearly. However it’s an interesting perspective nonetheless.

I’ve read a few books now on ‘manifestation’ or ‘reality shifting’. Psycho-cybernetics seemed to lay out more practical methods for these ideas. Becoming Supernatural also seemed to ground these ideas more firmly in ‘reality’ for lack of a better word. The next one on my list is the Parallel Universes of Self by Fredric Dodson.

Rating: 2.75 stars (rounded up to 3)

This is, by far, the strangest and weirdest book I’ve read in years—and I’ve read quite a few. I’m honestly still unsure how to approach this review because I have two completely opposing reactions to it.

The first part? I loved it. It felt like I was re-reading The Power of Now, but with a financial twist. The author’s exploration of the interplay between being and doing was insightful and aligned well with the book’s premise.

But then came the second half… and he completely lost me. It felt like I was suddenly holding The Secret on steroids. The repetitive “cliffhangers” at the end of each chapter—promising deeper revelations in the next—became frustrating fast. I kept waiting for the substance, but it never quite landed.

As someone deeply interested in quantum behavior, I wanted to love this book. I really did. But in the end, it just didn’t deliver for me.

P.S. The cover is awful and has absolutely nothing to do with the content. This book is way more than just a book about money… though I’m still not quite sure what exactly it is.

Pure sheer excitement

This book is by far the most exciting and exhilirating book I have read in my entire life up to this point after The Quran and the Books of authentic Hadith. Because they are the ones that made me resonate with this book.

I gave ot 5 star because it kept me completely hooked from beginning to end without a single moment of boredom. All moments were moments of excitement. I don't want to spoil it for you by mentioning anything in the book. This book needs to be read like a novel. Imagine if I leave a review about a novel telling you the slightest hint. The name of the book is enough. Busting Loose from the money game. But it is so much more. Infinitely more.

Enjoy.

This book is not a how-to book on money management or wealth creation. It's an invitation to look at our life experiences through a different lens, one of illusions and holograms that we create.

I liked the Human Game metaphor, where we are playing in a gigantic amusement park. Getting to the place where I want to truly say, "I want to create X" from the place of simply wanting to experience the pure joy of playing with the creation is attractive. Fully appreciating what I've already created feels like a warm blanket and a reminder. The hardest for me is to remove judgment in my wish to create something.

I'd like to re-read this in he future.

Such random almost secret feeling book. This is a book that looks like an infomercial on the outside and definitely nothing I would ever pick up or read just by looking at the cover or the content that it looks like it applies too. A very spiritual friend of mine recommended it so of course I read it and it was amazing. Kind of nothing to do with money, but does at the same time. As someone who is really into quantum physics this book was great! The first half nothing I didn’t know but the second half was really great on how to apply it to your life. Really loved it and have recommended it to many people !! if you read it, you’re meant to read it. ✨

What a strange and interesting book. I read this with a book club and it certainly helped open up my ideas for expansion and seeing the world and life differently. And how I react/respond to situations differently. It's very woowoo which I usually totally dig but this was a notch above which was hard to get my head around.

I'm glad I read it! I need to mull on all of this for a while and see what happens.

As a side note: The cover is terrible and this is so much more than just a book about money.

This book is so much more than the title

I wish I had come across this book when it was first written, though perhaps I came across it at just the right time. It's about more than the money game, it's about the whole game of life. It is very well-constructed and well written. I read it as fast as I could and will re-read it. Thoroughly enlightening, transformational, and enjoyable.
