Coming from the author of the Amazon best-selling novel, The Heartbreak Hotel, Josh Conley Jr is back with this riveting drama, Fatherless.
Fatherless unravels the traumatic life of Seven Bradford, a young black man, who has been through a plethora of tribulations. Growing up in a single-parent family, all Seven ever wanted was to find and connect with his dad, Jerri.
Living a life plagued with loneliness, poverty, and abuse, Seven is determined to end this vicious cycle. His mission? To prove to those who hurt and abused him that he had worth, while desperately wanting to be loved and accepted by his father.
Throughout his life he yearned for the perfect balance between Self, Jerri’s affirmation, family, and God. And so, prayer became his source of strength. Seven falls in love with a spiritual and caring spirit, appreciating and loving him through the good, bad and ugly. Everything started to fall in place, but is it too late? Can a birthmark finally heal the rift with his dad that has always been present in his life?

I really enjoyed this book. Despite the men in Seven's life he chose to as much as possible focus on the good in people. This book made me angry, sad, and hopeful. I would recommend. Reader beware there are some triggers (child abuse).
