3 This romance reads odd to me almost like a foreign language to English translation in some cases. The characters seem like they’re more in high school than their last year of college. I also wasn’t a fan of repeating scenes from each point of view. The drama is very vague but it seems to be solved semi-quickly, though there’s room to debate that with how things are left. The ending was very abrupt and as much as it’s a HEA, it feels unfinished, too. The plot had LOTS of promise and Im hoping as the series continues, the writing progresses and matures as well.
Jackson is on the college hockey team and planning on going Pro when he graduates. He goes to a bar and sees Olivia and knows he has to meet her, so he does. She is also going to the same college and is graduating as well. They have a fling that develops into something more.
I liked the story idea, what I had a problem with is name changes, abrupt ending, wrong boyfriend name for her roommate and editing was bad. The epilogue was a mess as well and didn’t make a lot of sense.
This book is probably the worst book I've ever read and I should have stopped at chapter 2. The chapters repeat themselves at first but from each others perspectives, but the details are out of sync. First they are in the car, then in the restaurant, then back in the car on the way to the restaurant. Side character's names are accidentally swapped constantly. The ending is abrupt. And (I'm from Michigan so this really bugged me) the main characters is from "Northern Michigan" and then names a city on the west side of the state, no where near the northern part.
Nope! Alternating each chapter for the two main characters like it. Having half the chapter be a repeat or going back before the previous chapter started no thanks. Cheesy arrogant athlete can be good but in this case reminded me why I hated high school 🙄 Olivia has a couple drinks at the bar then the next morning talks about how shes a lightweight, so why did she drive?? Just could not with this story. College kids going on 40 year olds.
Filled with errors—how can an author lose track of her characters??
This has to be one of the worst books. The author seemed to forget who each character was with. A lot of misspelled words. Once, the author forgot the two main characters had left a restaurant, gotten into the car and all of a sudden they were eating. Too many stupid mistakes. I’ll never waste my time on anything else by Zoe Beth Geller.
I actually started this book in the box set, planning on reading the entire series. I had to struggle to finish this book then deleted the rest of the series from my EReader. Like the prequel Tyler, there were a ton of typos, and the timeline felt off. In the prequel Tyler is dating one girl, then someone else in this book. I tried to overlook it, as he wasn't the main character of this book, but it nagged at me. I also felt like I missed a chapter or so, because I didn't feel an HEA with Jackson and Olivia at all. When I finished the book, I was left feeling unfulfilled. I will try the mafia series by this author just to see if it's any less confusing.
A good story about a hockey player and the woman that he falls for. The story is entertaining and intertwines with other characters in this book. The characters are likeable and have a great connection. Looking to see where this series will go.
I couldn't make myself finish this book. It would be a good idea if it was just 2 books. You read the same chapter twice just 2 different view points. Just not my cup of tea.
This book needs editing - names gets switched half way through the story, the same things get repeated several times and it seems like a 15 year old who didn’t like her language arts class wrote it .
Story had potential but it was unstructured and unfinished .
There is so much inconsistency in the book. One example is Mira is with Alan and then says she is with Tyler during the draft but back with Alan in the bonus chapters. So much missing in between many subplots.
Great Characters and story line. This book is so different. Jackson and Olivia’s love story keeps you wondering if they will have their happy ever after.
The writing is terrible. I stopped reading at Page 8. I can’t believe someone hasn’t told Geller this. The internal monologue, the stilted dialogue are cliche and corny. It’s like someone Goggled “hip and happening” and tried to incorporate that. What young adult or college aged person talks like this…NONE! HARD PASS TO THE TRASH!
