What a great conclusion to a Series. Even Though Volume 6 is coming out soonish. Mariela, Sieg and Master wit help from the rest of Labyrith City residents finally Defeat the Labyrith and save the city.

There are lots of great characters, lots of Drama, Lots of the Minor characters from previous novels, come to help. The fightscens are pretty good, except that the final Boss fight seems a bit rushed. A lot of work to get there seemed anti-climatic.

There are parts of the story that make it seem like it's the end of the story. The Authors afterword for example. But I do have volume 6 pre-ordered. We'll see.

This version had a few translation issues. Mainly the there are at least 3 - 4 sections within the story where the English was deformed. However, by far there is a lot of story packed into this series. Each book was fairly long and well plotted. Aspects from the first novel made their way into the final one. My favorite part is we don't have a story that is stretched out to 20+ novels. While I wish the romance had been brought to a more satisfying or concrete conclusion, you will not be disappointed with The Alchemist Who Survived.

I seriously question how Mariela is the main character of this book. There is very little development of her as a character. The only thing that seems to improve is her abilities as an alchemist. The other characters and the world itself is the most interesting thing about this series. This series is definitely going to be the once every few years-reread type.

One of the better light novels I've read this year - in part because it's not an endless serial - pretty much sticks the landing. Satisfying conclusion to the main plot arcs and most character arcs, but leaves enough open that I'm looking forward to what I understand is effectively an epilogue volume in vol 6. Good stuff, and more light novel series with single digit numbers of volumes, please!

This series has been so good. Although the series ends with this book, I will be looking forward to what is next from the author.

It's a shame how one character can ruin my enjoyment of this series I love
