After being forced to stop in the Kingdom of Dal Canto, Lucia and her friends continue their journey to purify the Cristallo Sacro and save the world. The party, which had been awkward at first, had finally come together as true companions as they approached their final stop. When Lucia and Maria decide to purify the last tree together, a black dragon with the power to destroy an entire country appears. Lucia manages to purify it, but her Soap disappears along with it!?
The third, and final, book in this series can't quite decide on it's tone and given the short length that's a problem. IMO a lot of people enjoy LN's for the general silly, fully nature of the stories. There is a good dose of that at the start and especially the end of this book. The middle however is packed full of some drama. There's nothing wrong with some amount of tonal change to keep readers attention, but in this case because of the limited space for a transition it's going to be pretty jaring. That said, my other complaint is that one of the charms of the first two volumes is that while there is an Isekai'd character as essentially a side character, the main character is a native of this world and is reasonably able to navigate the culture without big goofups. But in order to jump into drama, she seems to loose all sense of caution and jumps right into a situation where one would think she'd instead backoff and work behind the scenes to fix... it's understandable that there simply isn't the page count available for something like that, but does tend to spoil the overall feel of things. In the end, I found the final fluffiness so extraordinarily sugary that it was a bit hard to stomach (coming off the more dramatic bits).
It takes skill to make you mourn the death of a character that you know isn't dead. I hope the Wakasa decided to revisit this world, there's still so much that wasn't answered. Mostly questions that floated in the background, but I would love to see her come back and flesh out the world and answer those questions.
A great ending to this short series! Unlike the previous installments there's no fear of a cliffhanger; all loose ends are tied up neatly and satisfyingly! I really enjoyed seeing the characters reach the endings that made sense considering their previous character development! Overall a sweet and enjoyable series! Would recommend!
Perfectly happy ever after, not without stress, but like a Cinderella classic plus friends. Very good series, I highly recommend. Stressful separation makes greater impact at the end. Loose ends nicely tied up. Thank you, Ms. Nao!
After struggling with the second book the conclusion of this book had me happily back in and charging through like I did the first. The series as a whole suffers from old timey fantasy tropes but is a pretty cute and fluffy read if you can get past it
Cute ending to a journey. Feels like the author wrapped up everything nicely, tied in a bow. Would have loved more lovey-dovey moments, but I suppose I'll take what I can get.
I like how this novel had story to tell and did so without unnecessary dragging it on. It's not long but ending doesn't feel too rushed, and there is closure to story.
