Melanie Haynes is perfectly content living her single life. At least that’s what she tells herself every day, especially when she’s around her friend Noah Carlisle. They’ve got a good thing going as just friends, and she’s far too busy with her career as an ER physician to mess with it. Not to mention the last time she let herself fall in love, her heart got ripped out and stomped on. Noah is determined to prove to Melanie that they are meant to be together. He’s waited long enough, building a solid friendship with the woman who guards her heart with walls that are ten feet high. But when his life changes in an instant, he’ll need his friend in ways neither of them could have predicted. Real feelings are not part of the agreement, but how can she keep her heart protected, when emotions become involved and just pretending to be together isn’t enough?
Romancing Melanie is the fourth and final book in Julia Jarrett’s The Lucky Strike Lovers Quartet and was the perfect end to a fantastic series! The thing I love about this series is that the love stories are melt your kindle hot and the bonds of friendship between the main characters are strong and pivotal to each couple’s happily ever after.
Melanie is a beautiful, highly motivated, career oriented ER doctor. She is also a whole lot broken inside, thanks to a heartless ex husband and her infertility. She protects herself by dedicating herself to her job and avoiding love and commitment.
Noah is outgoing, honest and loyal. The man always has a smile on his sexy face and will win you over with his charming ways. His family comes first and his desire to settle down is a known fact. When life throws him a curveball in the form of a surprise baby (from his one and only one night stand), Noah steps in to care for his newborn son.
Melanie and Noah are the best of friends except they are so much more then that. Their attraction to one another is buried under the surface of their friendship but far from hidden. When Noah becomes a father overnight, Melanie steps in to be his rock.
Watching both Noah and Melanie fight their feelings had me devouring this book. I fell hard and fast for daddy Noah and my heart went out to Melanie - I felt her pain as if it were my own. Having faced my own infertility diagnosis, I could relate to her and understand her feelings of inadequacy and the pain of never having or giving someone a child.
Noah and Melanie are the perfect couple and when they finally get their happily ever after, my heart was happy.
Romancing Melanie (and the whole Lucky Strike Lovers series) gets the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval. TBR and Enjoy.
This friends to lovers book is a must read. We first meet Mel in book 1 of the Lucky Strike series because she is best friends with Callie. Mel is a doctor who focuses on work, and work alone. She has great friendships with all of the couples from past books, but has no desire to be in a long term relationships every again because of what she went through with her ex-husband. Mel thinks she is broken and incapable of loving someone like that ever again.
We met Noah in the other books as well, because he is the younger brother to Ryan from book 2. Noah believes in love and long term. He doesn’t do one-nights, and strives for a family. However, one night Noah gets drunk and has that one night stand, which results in a baby boy. One he knew nothing about until the social worker drops the bomb at end of book 3 setting up the story.
Mel and Noah have become best fiends, and do almost everything together. And Noah has been pining away for Mel. She drops everything to help him with his son, and thus begins the back and forth of their relationship. Noah wants Mel to see she isn’t broken, but doesn’t want to push her. Mel wants to love Noah, but doesn’t know if she can. It’s heartbreaking to get inside Mel’s head, because you know she wants a family and wants it with Noah, but doesn’t feel like she deserves it.
There are ups and downs, surprises and truths, but you will not be disappointed in this book. Julia Jarrett is coming in to her stride and honestly I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
“Romancing Melanie”—Julia Jarrett [5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️] This is the fourth and final book in the Lucky Strike Lovers series and what a great way to end it with this story! While this book can be read as a standalone, I highly suggest reading the other books in this series to get to know all the other characters and their stories. Melanie Haynes is a very successful ER doctor, has amazing friends, and is completely content living the single life after all that she’s been through. Her and Noah Carlisle have been great friends and share so many common interests, but she’s determined to keep this relationship platonic and not let things get messy. Noah’s life is turned upside down when he finds out he’s the father of an abandoned baby and he’s going to need some help from Mel. Noah’s deepest desire is to have a family and the right woman by his side, and he knows Mel is the one he wants to be with, but the challenge will be to convince Mel to take a chance on love again and prove he could be the man for her. Lines start to blur when Mel invites Noah and his baby into her home and life, but how is she going to keep her emotions in check and her heart protected when she’s secretly falling for Noah and his little baby. The story was absolutely adorable as Noah was the sweetest guy in how well he adapted to his role as a father and how hard he was determined to show Mel that she deserves love again. What a great conclusion to the series 🥰📚
What can I say? This was a great finale to the Lucky Strike Lovers Quartet. I loved Noah and Melanie, but I have to admit at times, I got so frustrated with her, I wanted to shake her! This is a friends to lovers story. Noah and Melanie are the remaining singles in their friend group – they bonded over their shared love of cycling and became fast friends. Noah is a true romantic at heart, longing for love and family - but don’t let that fool you – he is still a passionate alpha. Melanie is a strong, caring women who has sworn off love and marriage after her divorce. While they’ve maintained a close friendship, they have kept silent about their attraction for each other. Until a surprise arrival forces them into a fake relationship – then they are compelled to deal with their attraction and feelings. They each handle those feelings differently and this is where I wanted to shake Melanie - I understood her reticence, but her indecisiveness got to me at times. Jarrett does a great job of drawing the reader into Noah and Melanie’s story; their attraction ignites the pages, I was invested in seeing them get their HEA. I also loved that the characters from the other books were featured in this story, some more than others. The ending came full circle and closed out the series perfectly. Definitely a book and series that should be added to any TBR list. Advanced copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
What a fantastic conclusion to the Lucky Strike Lovers Series! We met Melanie in book 1 (Loving Callie), she is an ER doctor and best friends with Callie. Melanie has been through a divorce and has sworn off relationships. Noah is Ryan’s brother (we meet Ryan in book 2 Protecting Anna) and is best friends with Melanie. He knows they can have something incredible if she would take time out of the friend zone.
At the end of book 3, Noah is informed he is a father and this book picks up from there. Noah seeks support and guidance from Melanie. In order to keep the baby until the paternity is confirmed, a fake relationship is developed and they are moving in together.
Melanie’s struggles with starting a relationship with Noah and her infertility is what grabbed my heart. Her battle with keeping herself protected and mourning the loss of not experiencing motherhood was raw and authentic. Her redirection of energy and focusing on work to mask the pain was extremely relatable.
The chemistry between Melanie and Noah was undeniable. Noah’s patience but also gentle pushes to develop something more was heartwarming.
Jarrett has done another fantastic job of writing incredible men who are the perfect match for strong and courageous women!
This book can be read as a standalone but I recommend you read the series from the beginning.

What an ending to the Lucky Strike Series! I’ve been waiting for Melanie & Noah since Julia Jarrett started hinting at the opportunity for their friendship to become more. ER doctor, Melanie, has felt broken from a previous relationship for too long. Hot, new dad & best friend Noah has loved her as long as he’s known her.
Their chemistry was built up in the other books and it did not disappoint in the series finale. This book brought the friendship, the steam, the brakes, and the love story. It felt realistic, celebrating how friendship really can be the perfect foundation for a loving relationship.
While it can be read as a standalone, you owe it to yourself to read the first three books to really get to know these characters and appreciate their story.
Read if you love a hot single dad, a heroine who makes believable mistakes to try to protect her heart, and the perfect wrap-up to a really great four book series.
Thank you to the author for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This was my first book by Julia, and let me tell you it did not disappoint. Obviously, I didn't read the first in this series, but I able to fallow along without any issue... well okay, there is one thing. I have to run back and start with Callie's story now! That's how much I loved this. Even though, I know what happens I have to start from the beginning and know everyones story inside and out. I loved how the friendship between all of these characters are so strong it makes me wish I had a group of friends like this. And let's not forget the heat. Holy crappolie.
I loved Melanie here. Her whole career is to help other people since she is an ER doctor, but really she's the one that's broken inside. And then there is Noah... Oh man, Noah. Yes, please!! the tension between these two was enough to make me want to throw my phone, but also keep reading at the same time. I really loved everything about this book, and now BRB while i go back to book one in the Lucky Strike Lovers series.
I thoroughly enjoyed Noah and Melanie’s book. A great friends to lovers slow burn romance. When Noah discovered he was a Dad in Serenading Reagan I wondered how his story would be told. But Julia did an amazing job with this, coupled with Mel being his best friend, who happened to struggle with her infertility, and the dynamic of their ever changing relationship. Noah stepped up from the off to his new challenge and I found this so endearing, putting his little boy first.
I felt the important issue of the struggle a woman goes through when she finds she can’t have her own children naturally was dealt with with such sensitivity and accuracy. This was a real heartwarming story that I’m so glad I read. It was that good that I read it in a single day. Good job Julia.
I absolutely adored Noah and Melanie’s story. Noah is such a complete sweetheart and I love him so much! Melanie has been broken beyond repair and is afraid to let anyone close to her no matter how she feels. I wanted to scream multiple times during this book because I felt like Melanie was so stubborn! This was a great end to the series and I’m sad that it is over but will definitely reread the series because it was amazing!
This book was sweet. A friends to lovers romance. I loved how deep our main male character was, how devoted he became to his son and how he was honest about needing help. Melanie was it for him and him for her, even if she didn't want to admit it yet. It's been a while since I read a book like this in third person and it took me a little time to get used to it but I did enjoy the book and the story.
I received an arc of this book from the author for an honest review.
I have to say this book was amazing. It was different then the previous book. And you can read it by itself without reading the rest of the books. It is very romantic and it makes you laugh. Friends to lovers is always an interesting story to read. The way the author wrote the plot and the story is very descriptive and takes you into their world. I would recommend it to anyone. A great escape and full of love.
What a wonderful way to end this sweet, steamy series! Noah is a frickin' dream and it's easy to root for Melanie when a dream life she fully deserves is right in front of her. I'm not usually a surprise pregnancy/surprise baby kind of reader, but in the hands of this author I was easily swayed into the trope. Definitely a great book for those who love sexy single dads, fake engagement, forced proximity, and friends-to-lovers! This book has it all!
What a way to end the series. This one was my fav of all four books and I loved all of them. This one just really got me in the feels. I guess because Melanie & Noah have been friends for so long who just ignored their feelings until they were forced to fake a relationship 💛 I love it when friends who you know are perfect for each other finally risk the friendship for something more.
I read the entire series in order and was glad I did. Although all books could be read as stand a lones, there are some parts that are better understood after reading the previous book(s).
I liked the concept of family and friendships. I highly recommend all the books
Perfect End to the Lucky Strike Series! A adore sweet Noah and that baby. Melanie is a career driving doctor who is his perfect foil. The slow burn of their friendship morphing into more is delightful. Highly recommend. My favorite from the series!
This book is number 4 in the Luck Strike Lovers Quartet and while you could absolutely read it as a standalone, I reccomend that you read the first three books first so that you can meet all the other characters.
Oh My Gosh this book was just brilliant, it just grabbed me in right from the start and I devoured it every chance I could.
❤ Friends to lovers ❤ fake engagement ❤ surprise baby ❤ Best Friends ❤ Hot single dad ❤ Great friends group
Noah and Melanie have been best friends for a long time with so many things they enjoy in common they love spending time together. When they first met they just really hit it off and have a great relationship.
Little did this pair know that both of them had secret feelings for the other. Melanie was hurt badly in her previous marriage and has no plans on being in any kind of sexual relationship and Noah is just a guy happy to take whatever he is given.
The baby is of course the icing on the cake, both of them adore him and would do anything to keep him safe. Noah is a great father, he is finally doing something he has always wanted and Melanie is more than happy to help him out.
So many twists in this book, so many ups and downs but so much love, all different kinds of love that will have you smiling while you read this book.
Great storyline, great characters and a great flow.
It feels a little bittersweet to be saying goodbye to this amazing group of friends but I have loved every second of their journey.
Thanks so much for having me Julia, i am so looking forward to your next books to come.
