Tinsley Faulkner loves art more than anything in the world. She’s a painter and owns an art gallery in the small town of Shadows Landing. But suddenly her life is changed when a man walks into the gallery looking to sell some art—art she knows is stolen. What she thinks is just a one-time thing quickly escalates into something so dangerous people have died for decades to protect it. Now Tinsley finds herself fighting for more than just her life, but to correct a historical wrong that’s affected generations of people.
FBI Special Agent Paxton Kendry had just been transferred, against his will, to the Art Crimes division in Charleston from Atlanta’s violent gang task force. Something about his transfer never sat right with him, and he’s determined to get to the bottom of it. Only Tinsley Faulkner keeps sidetracking him. Instead of ignoring the feisty artist, he finds their verbal sparring matches invigorating. Until one day Tinsley stumbles onto something bigger than either of them could imagine.
Now it’s up to Paxton to protect Tinsley as she finds herself in the middle of the most dangerous art heist of the century. But can he protect his heart along with her life, or will they disappear like the art Tinsley is willing to die to protect?

I love the crossovers and the peek into what I’m hoping is the next series!! I will miss Shadows Landing but I know we will see them again! I loved the ending which of course made me cry. Kathleen have isn’t afraid to tackle hard subjects as we have seen in her other books, and I love that she does. Kathleen Brooks is one of 2 authors that I will buy without even knowing what the book is about because I have never been disappointed in her books. I’m looking forward to whatever is still to come from Shadows Landing and Keeneston!
Once again the dive back into Shadows Landing was perfection! I deeply loved this book! Kathleen has a great way of grabbing the reader and creating these places that you can escape to in your mind! I love that the family from Keeneston, KY was a large part of this book as well. She has been slowly connecting the two series and it has been down very well!
Tinsley- I am so glad that Kathleen did her story so very well! I have been waiting for this story as well as Ryker's ;) And it did not disappoint. We get to see her character grow from the tiny girl that no one sees her strength to a girl that wrestles alligators. Paxton- their first meeting was for sure not a good meeting. They did not seem to truly like each other. Friends to enemies is usually a good story line. Then we see Paxton be the first person to see her strength, aside from Ryker. I am so happy that I read this book!
The plot, characters, apple pie, photoshoots... all of it was perfection. This book had danger, steamy scenes, as well as comedy! Such a great read!
Excited for Tinsley’s story, she was everything I hoped for and Paxton was ok I sorta wished he came across a little bit more of a stronger personality especially considering what his job was.
Paxton and Tinsley were fun. I loved how subtly arrogant Paxton was lol. But also ...when Cy said "We do this shit for fun" with a grin...I almost died.💓
Tinsley and Paxton After a few years of not really reading, it was one of Kathleen’s books that drew me back into the world- all the way back in 2012 😳. I quickly devoured all her books and anxiously wait on every new release, there are currently 46 books, all of which I own in paperback, ebook, and on audible (did I count right?), spanning a few different series and I swear each one is better than the last! As promised this one is no different - there are babies, old ladies with pie, and multiple granny gangs! What more could you want in a small town romance?
I absolutely adore Paxton and Tinsley! I love that they both see each other for who they really are and allow them to be themselves. This story is hysterical and romantic. Ryker showing up in the delivery room in a thousand dollar suit because his deliver was vital to having a baby was hysterical. Paxton meeting the granny gang and climbing a tree with the apple pie had me crying I was laughing so hard! And Cy saying “We do this sh*t for fun,” was everything! I love the crossovers from all the series and getting a glimpse at some of my favs! I can not say enough good about this book! And I am absolutely dying to read Ryker’s story now and cannot wait for it!!!
Plus their was another successful guys and girls trip 🤣
I so love these books! You absolutely need to read them all!!! There is still one more book from her Forever Bluegrass series and one from her Shadows Landing series coming this year, plus hopefully one more from Moonshine Hollows Series. So go pre-order them and then start reading! Also, the first book in almost every series is free in Kindle- so that’s a great place to start! PS-I lost the bet on a wedding date 😉.
I don't know how Kathleen does it.... How she can make each new story, so exciting, engrossing, interesting, amusing and heartwarming! Every time I read one of her books it is the same thing..... It starts off like any other romantic suspense and then you find yourself intrigued.and hooked.... There is the mystery and twists and turns that keep you riveted. Then there is the affection, support and loyalty of both the Shadows Landing family and the Keeneston family. Then there is the delightful and hilarious antics of the Shadows Landing inhabitants.... Bubba and the barbeque race on Sundays are a hoot. And... Paxton's predicament with the apple pie was hilarious just to name a few laugh out loud moments of entertaining goofiness!!!! We go from serious issues, action and drama, to lighthearted moments, and to a beautiful, sexy and sweet, heartfelt love story all woven together in an amazingly effective way!!! A big bonus in this book also is that you get lots of action from the Keeneston crew which made me soooo happy because I love them too!!! It was a real pleasure to read about them all again. That is why I love Kathleen Brooks' books so much you get it all in a way that keeps you guessing, uplifts you and sometimes she brings back all your old favorites into the new story! This was a ten thumbs up gem of a book and I highly recommend it for a lively, fast moving, and highly entertaining read!!!!😇
Framed Shadows is the newest installment to the Shadows Landing series from Kathleen Brooks. A separate series connected to her other series books from her Bluegrass series, but a series in it's own right. To be honest, the writing style of Ms. Brooks is like no other. She has managed to take a small town a place you wished really existed, with characters you would want as friends, and expanded that small town vibe.
In this book, all the feels come to play. A fast paced action story that has humor and heart flowing perfectly. There are laugh out loud moments as well as moments a tear will fall from the eye and everything in between. Strong character development with a backstory that does not drag down the flow of the story is what all readers appreciate when reading this book, as well as all of the works from Ms. Brooks and her series.
Not to offer spoilers here, but you will love this book. As each book can be read as a standalone, it is far more enjoyable to read in succession. As the series grows, so does the character list, but all her books are just so enjoyable, so take the leap and take the trip to the best escape to the ever growing small towns in the stories by Ms. Kathleen Brooks. You will be glad you did...
Framed Shadows is the sixth book in the Shadows Landing series by Kathleen Brooks. Shadows Landing Series combines small-town charm, suspense, and a dash of romance. This is a contemporary romance series with a small-town setting, some romantic suspense elements, a little drama, intrigue, tension, mystery, humour, and adventure. After reading Ms. Brooks ‘Bluegrass’ series, and not being as ‘blown away’ by them as I had expected and hoped, I wasn’t sure if I would take the plunge into this series or not. But as they were sitting on my TBR already, and also wanting to clear my TBR list, I decide to just dive in and get them done. I have to admit that, thankfully, I did ‘enjoy’ this series a bit more than the Bluegrass books.
Tinsley Faulkner wad known to everyone including her family as sweet pure Tins. She do anything to help someone in need. She was and artist and gallery owner in Shadows Landing. Paxton Kendra wad an FBI Agent new to Charleston area. He was assigned to the Arts criminal division. But he wanted badly to return to undercover gangs/drugs division. Paxton and Tinsley relationship working together not to good. Later that turned into him making her mad on purpose, well he thought she was adorable. He didn’t want to pursue her because he wanted to go a k undercover. Of course, when that became unlikely he finally was accepting that reality. However, Tinsley came across some art she knew was stolen, so her life was in danger. The art was connected to criminals. Paxton vowed to protect her and finally gave in to his feelings for her. Anyway great story if you read KB books. Lots of excitement, shootings, kidnapping and Keeneston family to the rescue.
Another fun read. I enjoyed all of the Shadow Landings quirky characters. Even the most so called "normal" people had their individual idiosyncrasies.
I liked that Tinsley knew her own worth and her strengths. It didn't take Paxton long to figure that out. I also liked the way Paxton adapted to being part of the town. I loved the crossover with the Kentucky relatives. I especially enjoyed Cy. He was controlled recklessness. I am looking forward to reading the book about the mysterious cousin Ryker.
This book can be read as a stand-alone. I think it would be more enjoyable if it was read in order. Keeping track of the Shadows Landing's siblings, cousins, and townspeople is daunting enough. Throw in the Kentucky group and it is more than a notion. I am feeling the need to go back to those books.
I listened to the audiobook. I needed something kind of lighthearted, humorous, and fun. This was it, even with all of the action and intrigue.
I absolutely love the Shadows Landing and Keenston/ Bluegrass /Framed series by KathleenBrooks . The characters are amazingly written and the settings are fantastic. The families and friends in these books are so well written I feel like I want to meet them. The books have a little of everything, humor, drama, mystery, romance and tree climbing dogs, chicken eating alligators. The hate/love at first sight is great in the books and the embarrassing situations the characters get into with old ladies wielding brooms, spatulas, wooden spoons, and knitting needles along with cell phone cameras appearing at very inopportune moments is hilarious. I was hooked as soon as I read book 1. Already have the next books in both series on preorder. I highly recommend these books ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍👍👏💟😊📚
Another wonderful read from Kathleen! The way she merges families together to get the most out of a story is great, not to mention you get updated on all the characters is an automatic win in my book! This book is Tinsley and Paxton's story. I loved Tinsley from the very beginning she was the quiet one, the one who would help anybody. Paxton was supposed to be the big bad FBI agent but he wasn't. For being in the gang unit, I didn't find him rough and tough as I expected. Their match was hate or a strong dislike at first sight and we all know what they say about those! I was glad to see Tinsley's inner strength came out as well as the softer side of Ryker. Now as for the back story of the paintings, all I can say is WOW! I learned things I was not aware of and shed many tears for the victims. A job we!l done!!
I've been a fan ever since the early BLUEGRASS series....and this delicious spinoff about the cousins from Shadows Landing is just as fun and action filled. Family hijinx, humor,.action, adventure, and soooo much more grace these pages. You can read this book without having read the previous books in the Shadows Landing series, but I strongly suggest you don't. You'll get a far richer experience if you truly understand all the complex relationships and backstory between everyone by reading the others. Plus they're just plain fun to read!!! Dive in and discover this fun filled adventure series that has the occasional alligator, pirate ghost and not so retired special.forces members hell bent on protecting their extended family 😉. ENJOY!!
Loved Tinsley and Paxton’s story..it was filled with history, alpha men, badass women, knitting club antics, apple pie bribes, art, history, guns and explosives, passion, and finally the HEA.
As usual with Kathleen’s books, there are too many funny things to remember them all..the one’s that come to mind have to do with “being ornery”, “gators that make you scream like a girl”, “grown men scared of the knitting club”, “everyone being scared of Cy”, “BBQ and Sunday church services”, “self defense classes with daggers and swords”..and these are just a few.
While Tinsley and Paxton coming together was great, I cannot wait to hear Ryker’s story and see him find his HEA. After all he has done for his family (and apparently all he’s gone through), he deserves it.
Okay, as a lover of history and the era of Hitler, I truly appreciated how this book started and ended. My knowledge of art is very limited, but Tinsley helped with that. Also, Paxton as he teased her as if he was uneducated, which was a treat. Now let's get to the funny parts of the true fear he had of the knitting club and gators. That will forever be funny as crap.
I will like to thank Kathleen for one of the best rescue scenes outside of Greer and Sebastian to date. As a lover of Cy, I am happy he had a more direct role in this one as well. A plus all around.
I wasn't sure about Tinsley and Paxton at first but as Kathleen wove the story it became clear they were a perfect match. He sees her as she truly is and falls for her in spite of it. Lydia and her kids always make me laugh with their comments. When Paxton meets Bubba that's a scene I will never forget. Also was great to meet more of the Kentucky family. All the stories have pulled at my emotions but the ending of this one made me tear up as I have friends whose families lived a similar fate but survived to thrive. This is what books do for us – give us hope and show us so many different ways to live our best lives doing good and right.
Tinsley Faulkner artist and gallery owner is approached to sell some stolen art. This brings in FBI Special Agent Paxton Kendry who she has met before. She finds him annoying and is sure he doesn't like her as he avoids her at all costs.
Paxton was shot 3 times and nearly died on his last undercover drug job so they move him to Art Crimes. Something was really wrong on his last job and he is sure someone on the bust was a traitor and almost got him killed. Now he is confronted with both Tinsley and the stolen art and things really heat up.
Another good addition to the series, the books are predictable but fun and lite suspense. Narrated by Eric Dove who always is worth listening to!
I just love Shadows Landing. They teach their girls how to defend themselves, they all support each other and there is always some comic relief. Tinsley is an artist and art dealer. When she gets caught up in stolen art Paxton comes to Shadows Landing to help catch the gang using art to finance their criminal activities. Most of the town gets involved along with a fairly large number of people from Keenston. And of course there is always a happy ending. I can’t wait for Ryker to be next.
enjoy the davis series better than this, too many people and don’t know who they are, this one absolutely not the worst one but it’s almost.
Don’t know why they were in that kind of love, don’t know why we need that kind of background, everything are not real, the davis family did everything they like, even some of the characters in other books.
if the world is running like this, we are not hope.
i have so many questions about grayson, the waitresses of harper’s, olivia and her brothers and so does ryder, his will be the last one of the series, i hope so, finger crossed.
Everyone thinks Tinsley is the quiet, meek Faulkner but Paxton sees the real Tinsley, she may be small, with a heart of gold but she is also a firecracker, packed with passion, sass and awesome knife throwing skills to compliment her alligator wrestling! His perfect woman! I love Shadows Landing, it's quirky residents, strange traditions and unusual 'church groups', then there are the naked photoshoots with apple pie...yum!
Tinsley is the youngest of the cousins, the "nicest", "sweetest", the one everyone protected... Bring in a hunky FBI agent, stolen art masterpieces, a gang, and Tinsley shows them another side of her that no one expects. Totally loved this book. Hearing about old and new friends as they work together to save the day. I shed a few tears laughing and crying with a full heart. Kathleen Brooks, you did it again!!!
Another amazing story! It brought laughter and tears which I love while reading Kathleen Brooks' books. This story is for anyone who wants to enjoy the characters we have fallen in love with throughout this series! To new readers, start with book one and enjoy the adventures with adorable, strong, funny, yet focused, skilled, serious characters.
Tinsley is the nice one but she has courage and strength that very few want to see. Then Paxton, the FBI agent for art crimes, uses Tinsley for some research and he sees what everyone else overlooks. Will Tinsley and Paxton find their happily ever after while solving major crimes in the world of art? Join the Shadows Landing and Keenston group as they solve another crime.
Tinsley is approached by art thieves who want her to sell their "grandmother's collection". Paxton is working to find the thieves and figure out how he was set up and shot while working a case in Atlanta. There's always been a spark between the couple and it ignites in this book. Faithful readers will get to visit with beloved community members and family. Another endearing book by Kathleen Brooks.
Another excellent book on the Shadows Landing series! Tinsley and Paxton are vinegar and oil to start. But it's all an act on Paxton's side. I loved the art and WWII connection. The crime, gangs and community that are portrayed are so real and down to earth. I really enjoyed this book. I cannot wait for the next book. Perhaps we will finally get to see the real Ryker.
I love all of the series by Kathleen Brookes! Its not the storyline that gets me (although it’s always good) but it’s the personalities of all the characters and the banter that never fails to put a smile on my face or have me laughing out loud. If a place with this sort of community actually existed I’d move there in a heartbeat. Looking forward to the next instalment and finding out more about Ryker!
On my! Kathleen Brooks you did it again, this is the best one yet. To have all the families together in one book so clever. There were moments when I laughed out loud and times when I couldn't read because of the tears. Thank you for the most beautiful book, I'm sure I join thousands of people in saying your respect for the past and the way you honoured many many people is a reflection of your work. Here' to girl's spa days!!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I LOVE THIS AUTHOR!! Framed Shadows dives into the world of art crime, giving this romance a unique twist. Tinsley Faulkner, an artist and gallery owner, finds herself in the middle of a dangerous heist, while FBI agent Paxton Kendry is determined to uncover the truth. Their verbal sparring is entertaining, and the slow build of their romance adds depth to the story. The mystery is well-crafted, with plenty of twists and turns to keep readers engaged. A fresh take on romantic suspense that delivers both intrigue and passion.
Laughed, cried, cringed, got angry at the bad guys
This book is written so well that you feel emotions with the characters. Totally should read the other books first to fully grasp some of the connections, but not necessary. Love the knitting groups, Bubba the gator, the church and the exercise class, the explosions, the dogs - yeah, totally worth reading.
Kathleen is riding just keeps getting better and better! You think this is going to be another book And then you read it and it will make you laugh and it will make you cry.Yes there is somebody who falls in love but this book is so much more. Please give shadows landing a try if you have it!!!!!
