“Sometimes the only missing ingredient in reality, is belief.”
Initial thoughts immediately after finishing: - I like these stories, I think the simplicity of them helps cleanse my brain. - He’s like over 7-feet tall and calls her amica mea and I love it. - The ending kind of shocked despite it being daily predictable.
Plot 3🌟 I really like this story! I loved seeing Lexi go back to Obsidia and discover that while it’s been two years or her, it’s only been six months for them and things have changed drastically. I was happy to see some of those changes, though I would like to have seen more of what’s going on.
Characters 3.5🌟 I liked the characters a little more in this book, maybe because I know them better! Kassius was as sweet as ever and I still root for him over Nixon. I enjoyed seeing the maturity growth in Lexi as well!
Writing & Pacing 2.75🌟 I still noticed that the author leaned on the adventuring aspect as much as she did in the first book. They ate far less in this book haha, but always seem to be on the road and not doing a whole lot. Also, this takes place over the course of like two or three days, and it feels way longer than that. The pacing is still off for me. It doesn't diminish my reading experience, but I definitely noticed it.
Romance 3.5🌟 I am a little bit of a squealer for a cute romance, and this is very cute! I adore Kassius and Lexi!
Plot to smut ratio N/A🌟
Smut Quality N/A🌟
Overall Entertainment or Emotional Reactions 3🌟 I find myself looking forward to these books! I am eager to get into book 3!
Seeking Solace is the second book in the Realm of Knowledge series. We learn more about what happens after Lexi returned back to her world. It has been two years and she has a very difficult time. She's not the girl she used to be, but instead she's very sad and has nightmares every night. One day, she tells her best friend Nixon about what really happened when she went missing. It's an unbelievable story, but he believes her. He even finds a way to go back to Obsidia. Lexi needs closure and that's why she's going back. But not everything goes according to plan. Before Lexi knows it, she's on another adventure and I loved reading every page of it! There were many twists and turns. It was another emotional rollercoaster. I'm so excited to see what happens next because I have no clue! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes to read fantasy.
Seeking Solace reunites Lexi and Kassius, and I was glad to have them back together, but was hoping they'd be more open with each other regarding their feelings, but they're still guarded and I am curious to see what happens now with Nixon. Won't give any spoilers, but there's something brewing... and I have some theories for book three. LOL Can't wait to see what actually happens: will Lexi embrace the prophecy? who is the artist? will Kassius and Lexi find themselves on the same side? Hmmmm... Great read. Book One gave me a Chronicles of Narnia vibe and this book kept it up.
I gave 5 stars because I immensely enjoyed the story and the characters. There are a few hanging or split sentences but they did not interfere with the telling of the story. Anyone who enjoys mythology or fantasy will enjoy this series. It is fast paced and delightful.
I was hooked line and sinker on the next part to a wonderful series so full of adventure twists and turns and discoveries it was like unwrapping a Christmas present early and I couldn't believe it was over when I got to the end bring on book 3!
