The end of the world was the beginning.

'BLACKMORE' picks up as the group leaves the stadium. Beaten and battered, they head for the beach house .

With the fate of their son now a complete mystery, Mason and April must fight to keep him from becoming something no one in the group wants to speak about.

As Savannah attempts to come to terms with her own mortality, Randy continues to battle the demons that haunt his every move. However, they must put aside their personal issues and work together to defend the group from the ever-growing parade of villainous humans they continue to run across.

Exciting new characters are also included that add fuel to the already out of control fire that has become The Dead Years.

I'm officially over this series. The author is all over the place. I can't take his style of 'cliffhanger ends every section'...especially when the sections are only 2-3 pages long. I'd prefer watching FEAR THE WALKING DEAD (which I can't stand) to reading more of this series.

What Happened At The Stadium?

This is the second time reading this series & the second time through has verified for me that THERE IS A WHOLE VOLUME MISSING! At the end of Part 2 Mason has been critically shot! At the beginning of supposed Part 3 Mason is fine but Justin has been bitten & is dying! Other members of the group are now dead at the hands of a woman we've never heard of! There are references throughout Part 3 to events that transpired while the group was inside a stadium, where apparently Justin got bit, etc. There is a Part 2.5 somewhere out there! Maybe this will be corrected one of these days or maybe the authors really DO read these reviews & Jeff Olah will realize his readers aren't getting the whole story!

Excitement and Tension Level High, the entire group riding on the edge heading for the safety of Jason's Father-in-law's beach house.

Faced with concerns of will the beach house provide the safety they seek after having been driven out by the feeder hordes from their previous safe locations of the "sporting goods" store and sports arena, they all worry about when Mason and April's son, Justin, bitten by a feeder will turn? Will they be able to control him or have to destroy him before he attacks one of them? Is there anyway to save him?

Faced paced action

The author is wonderful. I love the story line and all the BELIEVABLE, fast paced action scenes. I only wish had quit with the life and death cliffhangers at the end of every book!

Non stop action thriller.

The saga continues as the survivors strive to find a safe place to rest and recoup, but is there such a place?

This Series Gets Better With Each New Book

So annoying!!! I wrote a well thought out review, and suddenly the screen goes black and poof it's gone!

Anyway...I want to hurry up and get going on the next book in the series, so this will be short and sweet. It's that good! If you like books from the zombie apocalypse genre, then you will love "The Dead Years" series. It's great for adults and young adults (15+ maybe) too. The plot is well written, and it's packed full of death and non-stop action.

I really enjoyed reading "Blackmore." The end of this particular book really shocked me, which was great. The best part about this series is the fact that no one is invincible - even the most important characters can and will die if they are not careful; and other people can be just as dangerous, if not more, than the zombies who lurk in every corner.

I enjoyed "Blackmore" even more than the book before it, and I can't wait to start book 4. Great book. Great author.

I started with The Dead Years Volume 1, and frankly I liked the beginning as much as I do Vol 2 & 3. I do feel that you could of done a book and included at least 5 of the volumes. Stories or Volumes are Not long enough for me, but author has a way of putting you right in the middle of what's taking place. And I can feel the tension, and want to scream out. To RUN. But of course I realize that Its my late night reading.
Would recommend to anyone that likes the Zombies stories. Everyone has a different idea of how it starts, but this author takes you through that process in every Volume and You really are rooting for a group of people to restart the world. Now on Volume 4, and I am now hooked on more thrilling circumstances.

I really liked the read. More twists and turns. New zombies are coming into play. Looking forward to seeing who makes it and who doesn't.
