Mr. Cornell has penned a genre-hopping short story based on one of Norway's greatest treasures, Edvard Munch's iconic painting, THE SCREAM. We follow Torsten Egland, an Oslo antiques dealer, and Detective Inspector Nordkapp as they try and unravel the causes of a series of strange deaths and the real-life theft of Munch's masterpiece.

Egland has the gift of second sight, an ability to get psychic readings on various occurrences, but only in symbolic terms. This of course frustrates the skeptical Nordkapp, but they manage to form an uneasy alliance.

Both an intriguing mystery and an engaging modern fantasy, this fast-moving tale entertains and educates at the same time.
