Excellent Book, Excellent Series
This is the second book in the Ted Hunter series. Read book 1 first. Both books have good plots and characters. They challenge the reader to think about questions of truth and justice, but move along at a fast pace. The stories held my interest, and I want to spend more time with the characters. My only correction is that Baptist churches do not celebrate mass, although holding mass at the Baptist church is mentioned twice in the book. A very small error. I just ordered the third book in the series. I'm excited to start reading it.

Needs the red pen
It’s an okay plot, politically correct, had to drag in generational racism! Too heavy handed in that issue, and seriously this takes place in Chicago but it’s white supremacists killing the black pastor. Okay, but it’s obtuse, be real there’s some black folks being murdered by black folks.
As far as the faith healer vs the religious leader, there is decent material here but was not fully developed and it was one of the most interesting plot lines! This plot line would have buttressed this story tremendously. So, I’d have taken out my red-pen and crossed out and redirected this story in a more intriguing way. I might pass this book up for another Tex Hunter book, save your money.

Excellent, albeit a tricky read full of twists & turns
Great characters and a plot that winds around what previously was one of my five favorite American cities.
But O'Mahoney makes me yearn for the old safer, cleaner Chicago I loved.
The Tex Hunter series is his best work...in my opinion opinion.

Rather interesting. Kept my interest. However, there were some issues with grammar. For example, something like "She showed it to Susan and I". If the editor had broken the two apart, they would have seen that it should have been "She showed it to Susan" and "She showed it to ME", not "I". it's throughout the book. Also, in one chapter (I didn't write it down) the author wrote the names of the people wrong, confusing one of the actors with another. As I read it, I thought "HUH?" Then looking closer, I realize that Mr. O'Mahoney meant another actor. And the editor/proofreader missed it. The storyline is similar to others in the Tex Hunter series in that an illegal act has happened and Tex Hunter, who is a lawyer, solves the mystery that the cops can't. It's a fun read.

another amazing book, highly recommend
I’m loving Tex Hunter Series. Even though I noticed a few lines from book 1, I’m still loving this author penmanship. His storylines are so interesting especially this one, racism. Whatever the truth of this book, racism is generational. No one is born to hate, it’s taught. I’m glad Cayley made a wise decision to break the generational curse of racism in her family. Author O’Mahoney books are so interesting to me. I’m loving this author style of writing. His editor and staff are amazing. But I do want to know, what the deal with the number 5🤷🏽♀️. But on to book 3.

I really love this series ( Tex Hunter) is a great character, father convicted of Mass Murder. His mother convicted of being an accomplice and died in prison. Tex has been an underdog his entire life and became an Attorney to fight for justice and the truth. This latest book was very timely , having Religion and Racism as the main driving factors of the storyline. The author has spent enough time in Chicago to make you feel like you live in the city.i enjoyed the twists and turns of the story and the ending was very realistic and satisfying.

Loved it.
Haven’t looked to see when he wrote this but the message in the book certainly is appropriate for today and takes place of all places Chicago.
Tex Hunter has had a tough life, but in spite of that he is a good guy and a great lawyer. Truth, faith and Justice prevailed for Amos Anderson, while I’m not sure how I feel about faith healers, and this isn’t a true story but we all need to have faith in a higher power. I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the next book in the Tex Hunter series.

I had a hard time getting into the book but once it got going for me, I was hooked. I was a little bit frustrated with the opening courtroom scenes. It didn’t seem like there was really any evidence at all against Anderson. So what if the victim had Anderson’s blood and DNA on him. The victim was seen pushing Anderson up against the wall in a chokehold And Anderson’s neck was cut by one of the victims fingernails. That explains DNA and blood. Other than that, the evidence was just not there. Still, it was a very good book. Not the best but very good.

The story itself wasn't bad. But, apparently, Amazon pays by the page so this author keeps each chapter to just a few, 3 to 5, pages. Then at the beginning of each chapter he puts an almost empty page with only the word "Chapter" and the chapter number on these totally unnecessary pages. In this particular book there were 50 chapters so I am worn out from turning these annoying extra 50 pages. He's figured out a cheesy way to make more money and one day soon Amazon will wake up and modify the way they pay.

This is a story for us all. Oh, the characters are fictitious, but the story, sadly, is very real. The question of faith is addressed in such a way that makes us reflect on just what that means to each of us. The issue of racism/hate is also addressed. Because something/someone is different, well maybe if we take a second look, we'll find something wonderful at best, interesting at worse. Highly recommend this book.

Story is good but, again, during a "court trial" setting, soooo much repetition going over & over the case, the exhibits, the background, etc.
Good story & easy to read, but not my favorite, for sure.
Attorney Tex Hunter isn't my favorite character ~ stubborn, opinionated, a drinker who dwells on his past hardships/history far too much ~ colors every move he makes.
Let's see what Book #3 in this series has to offer ....

I have read this author's books out of order and have completed his next series before starting this one. I could tell that this one was his first as it was not as accomplished as the subsequent series, however, still a cracking read. Refreshing to have a lawyer whose parents come from a criminal background. Also, Tex is just a normal lawyer, no bells and whistles, just hard work and gets the job done.

Another great book. I’m a fast reader and I like books that move fast and don’t have boring parts. Peter’s book take you up and down and has you turning pages faster. Tex is great as the defense attorney. If I ever needed a defense attorney, I would want one like Tex. He keeps everything close to his chest. He doesn’t disclose too much. Good book.

This one is hard to set aside.....
This book, these characters are so believable that one gets wrapped up in them and the story line. Not only that, just when you think you have figured out where this story is going, another twist, another turn occurs. Then the intrigue draws you into the book even more! Great read, thank you Peter O'Mahoney!

Faith and Justice
This is an excellent book, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The characters and the way the story is written is amazing. I look forward to the next Tex Hunter book already. Just when you think you know the outcome, another twist is introduced. Keep up the great work.

Eh….not my favorite book by this author. The constant refrain of truth is relative was annoying and just false. Also I don’t really like the protagonist in this series so far. It became more clear in this book. The Southern lawyer series was much better. I might try one more in this series to see if it improves before quitting on it.

A very intriguing story of crime and Justice.
The author has written a suspenseful and action packed story of a Lawyer’s action in trying to get his client off from the murder charge. Full of action and intriguing that makes for interesting reading.

I stumbled upon this series and have enjoyed reading. This series is addictive and entertaining. I find myself wanting to stay up late and continue reading…one more chapter. Once you start you will want to finish reading quickly.

I have just finished the second book in this series. I am enjoying the story and the flow, well written, interesting characters and easy to follow. I am a believer in the positive power of faith!

Against racism
Tex Hunter defends a faith healer for murder. Amos Anderson is charged with killing a black Baptist minister. Did he do it? There is plenty of circumstantial evidence but Tex has to create reasonable doubt. Find out how he does that. Great courtroom drama!

Excellent and intriguing
Captivating read, certainly going to the book in the series. I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys legal work, giving an insight into the functionality of the legal system for someone who is not a lawyer

Good read
I'm a O'Mahoney fan after reading Faith and Justice. As his book progresses, he builds out his main character, Tex Hunter, as a tough defender of justice. It is an interesting storyline captured well by the book's title.
