My story:

I was 8-9 years of age when my teacher introduced my class to writing books. Our library lesson was all about choosing a topic from the school library and writing our own little booklets! I won 1st prize for the numerous books I wrote on all sorts of topics. I loved it! I still have many of the booklets I wrote!
Another passion was a love of ponies, I always longed for a pony of my own. I didn't come from a wealthy family, so I began helping out on a local farm at the age of 10 - I was taught how to ride and 7 years later had the opportunity to buy my very own pony!
By the time I was 28 years old; I owned and managed a thoroughbred stud, I bred a few winning race horses! I became a partner in my husband's dairy/arable farm, we had two daughters.
Later in life I established a coarse fishery and sold it as a going concern.
I cared for my elderly mother for 10 years until she passed away; I supported myself by trading successfully on the financial markets. I always wanted to write but never had the time with the hectic life I led - until I retired - Now I write exciting fast-paced, easy to read fiction novels. I've had 4 books published so far - all murder mysteries with romance and plenty of emotional turmoil!- Faith in Love, Falsely Accused of the Unthinkable, The Village Narcissist and Lethal Revenge.

This is the second book I have read by this author, and is another fast-moving exciting tale with a twist that I didn’t expect or anticipate. She crafts an interesting set of intermingled sub-plots, and I will definitely read all of her future novels if she continues to invent storylines like this!

‘I’m so grateful for your help, you have saved my life’ – mysterious curtain raiser!

British author Glenis Kellet has life experiences in managing thoroughbred horses, diary and crop farming, creating (and marketing) a coarse fishery, dealing with the financial markets, and now returns to her childhood passion for writing. Her books to date – FAITH IN LOVE, THE VILLAGE NARCISSIST, and FALSELY ACCUSED OF THE UNTHINKABLE.

Experiencing the latest book by an author and then exploring earlier their earlier works provides a fine window into talent. THE VILLAGE NARCISSIST was a splendid introduction to Glenis’ ability to spin a fine mystery, and now reading an earlier work further proves that her talent is consistent. She manages to blend mystery with enough lighthearted humor to keep her story balanced.

This novel opens with a suspenseful introduction of her characters: “I pity anyone out in this weather. The blizzard looks like it’s set for the rest of the day!” Jean exclaimed to her elderly mother, Martha. The fire was aglow, keeping them both warm in their cozy lounge. The snow was blowing horizontally outdoors, hitting the single paned windows and piling up on the ledges. It was difficult to see outside. ‘Bang…bang…bang.’ Someone was frantically banging at the back door. “Whoever could that be?” Jean asked, hurrying to the door and opening it. “Good grief, what are you doing in weather like this Come in quickly, you’ll freeze to death outside.” The grey-haired woman grabbed the man’s arm and pulled him into the kitchen. “Sit yourself down, I’ll get some towels and blankets.” Jean hurried to gather the items….The man tried to smile, but his face was frozen. He was so grateful to her; he would have died outside if he had not found this remote place. His escape from prison had nearly cost him his life…’ A fine overture to this zesty mystery!

The plot is well paced and full of unexpected twists that encourage the reader to untangle. Respecting the suspense pleasure of reading, the plot line provided on the book’s back cover is merely hinted – ‘An escaped prisoner encounters horrendous struggles – a traumatized woman overturns his life completely – will he ever prove his innocence or is he in fact guilty: Astonishing revelations are unveiled about who he is!’

Written in a most engaging style, this fine novel by Glenis Kellet places her solidly in the arena of important contemporary authors. Very highly recommended.

Gripping Nail Biter of a Mystery!

This is the second book that I’ve read by Author Glenis Kellet. The first book I read by her was The Village Narcissist. I was so intrigued by that book that I had to get my hands on another gem by this truly gifted writer.

I just loved how Falsely Accused of the Unthinkable started out. From page one I was drawn into the story of a man seeking justice. At first it seemed all the odds were against him, but he never gave up hope that he would be able to right the wrongs he’d been put through, and in the end to have a normal life again.

It was as if I was transported into the story, right next to the main character and walked beside him from beginning to end. I had no idea where the story began, or who the characters were—then, as I continued to read, the story began to materialize around me. Can you tell yet that I was hooked from the very first word?

The characters and their interactions with one another frequently and unexpectedly grabbed my emotions; taking me on a journey of which I won’t soon forget. I found myself fearing for the character’s safety at times and rejoicing in their triumphs at others.

Anyone who loves a great mystery will be hooked after the first page. Falsely Accused of the Unthinkable moves at a fast and gripping pace. Hold on to your seats and pray you don’t get a paper cut as you turn the pages.

First book I've read from this author. Very easy to read and get into from the start, and from half way onwards, I couldn't put it down. I ended up having a very late night last night as I couldn't put it down - I had to finish it, and couldn't wait to see how it ended! Will be starting my next book from the same author, Faith in Love, and I'm sure I'll be hooked on that too.

Falsely Accused of the Unthinkable appears to be a straight forward plot at the beginning but gradually becomes more and more complex with lots of surprises to keep the reader guessing. The story has a good pace to it and felt exciting and very suspenseful. I thought the unlikely relationship development between the two main characters was very cleverly done. This is worth a read.

The fiction novel - Falsely Accused of the Unthinkable is a fast paced; riveting murder mystery.
Ask yourself the question - would you try to escape the cramped prison cell and the other unlikeable inmate for freedom to prove your innocence?

When the author began writing, she wondered what would happen if 2 people were running away from different scenarios and later they met! They would certainly relate to each other with the suffering they had experienced.

This exciting and moving tale, tells you of the victim's side of the story. The escaped prisoner grappled to survive a blizzard and many other horrendous struggles - he was risking not only his freedom but his own life; to find the truth! He was thrown into a world he had little knowledge of and saw how other people lived and coped with life's obstacles.

In the third chapter, he met a young woman fleeing from her own problems. Strange sightings occur making the woman want to dig deeper into this baffling mystery. Was the escaped prisoner really a victim or the real murderer?

The nail biting final twist will have you glued to the book!

This is the second of Kellet's novels i've read. As before, great plot, suspense, & easy reading for someone with poor concentration as i have - just the sort of author to curl up with, to help us get through a Covid winter.

Falsely accused of the unthinkable

Falsely accused of the unthinkable by Glenis Kellet is an fictional novel with a interesting mix of murder mystery with a touch of romance. It is earnest and passionate but quite straightforwardly written .
One circle represents suspense, the other romance, and the overlap contains the intriguing world of romantic suspense, in which two seemingly disparate elements, danger and desire, are successfully merged into one irresistible story. I actually forgot that I was reviewing and just read for pure pleasure.
The best way to make sure that the reader cares is by creating strong characters that are real to the reader. All the characters felt so real, that i had my eyes on whats happening to them and about the suspenseful situations they encounter. Characters’ behaviour seemed reasonably plausible.
Suspense is a critical aspect of writing crime fiction. All the elements outlined in the novel helped to increase suspense over the course and making it more and more interesting to read .
Unlike great mystery, this book invites the readers to try to solve the crime, and a great opening is critical to piquing our interest.
The ending is slightly unexpected but perfectly reasoned and inevitable, going a long way to restore the reader's faith in human nature and family ties. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it. LoveReading
