So good!
Since I've read most of the Brie series, this was a step back in time, showing how Thane (Sir Davis), Brad (Master Anderson) and Anton (Rystar Durov) all met. Also, they became lifelong friends/chosen family and how Sir Davis and Master Anderson got their start. As with the Brie series, not everything is all roses, but they help support each other. Makes me love the characters even more than I did before.

First thing first...The narration of these books by Jason Clarke is magnificent. He voices every character so distinctly. His voice...voices are pure catnip. This is narration/ voice acting on the next level.
So this book goes along famously. The first book focuses on Thane...then Anderson....then Rystar. These are college boys who have been through some things and develop a wonderful bromance as they grow in college and learn to add upon their dominant desires. Everyone is all about safe, sane and consensual. The information given as they get into the bdsm world is solid and healthy. There is also a side character who is a budding domme that has a decent if not struggling relationship with the dominant/sadist Rystar. Book 3 is where things go off the rails and all sense of decency leaves the building. I dont have triggers . Rape and most violence doesnt bother me if the people and the world is established as already demented where anything goes. But this is in a supposed learning bdsm safe consensual atmosphere. But if ever a book needed a trigger warning this book needs a HUGE TRIGGER WARNING.

horrible graphic male rape by a domme that is excused and okay'd.
I'm not triggered by rape esp if its an already anything goes type world then so be it but they are learning about how to be doms and practicing safe and consensual behavior..in details. I mean good healthy info in the lifestyle. Then BOOM while they are both under the influence this chick ties him to the bed and goes apeshit...rape (ignoring safe word, consent denied) in vivid detail... beating-drawing blood- forced urethral sounding. W-T-F?? And lets say I can overlook this. She comes to her senses and runs away leaving him tied to the bed. It is then excused because she was so drunk she couldn't help it (but had steady enough hands for catheter play). and she "loves" him. While the victim cant be in the same room with her he makes the best friend promise to stay friends with her and monitor her as she goes through her dominant training so it doesn't happen again...and he does. Positive side is she feels really bad and lives with the guilt but is totally accepted in the community and continues to be groomed by another experienced domme to ensure she can be the best domme she can be..letting her gruesomely violent rape of Rystar be a learning tool for everyone..I guess. I cant help but wonder if this is dismissed because it happened to a man. I don't know why the author decided to use this as a plot device. It didn't add anything to the story other than vileness. Not to mention it came out of no where and didnt fit in the tone of the rest of the stories. Plot twist gone wrong. Best case skip chapters 2 and 3 and the epilogue. I did finish all three books. Its just a shame because if i take out the horror of 3 then its a great book.

This book is fantastic. With a great “coming of age” storyline. These characters are well educated on the art of satisfaction. It was refreshing seeing the very beginning of the journey a Dom makes to find himself. Great performance.

Wow. I wish I was Glee!!! What a team player. With fantasies like these characters there’s no limits. The dynamic and chemistry between these characters is brilliant. A fantastic performance.
The Russian Reborn

This third book had a lot more information about the life outside of studying and was brilliant. With a hard as nails family my heart went out to this sadist as Red shows pure brutality in the direction of this book. An amazing performance.

Rise of the Dominants: Three Book Box Set
Totally enjoyed all the books and the histories behind our favorite dominant. To read about these sexy doms in their younger years certainly is enlightening learning how they became who they are now. Such wonderful sexy men who have become so strong and well respected in their world. The story line is sexy and fast moving with heart and soul.
I plan to continue reading this series until I have read them all.
However I am still trying to find where I can catch up with Brie and Sir after the plane crash. I just need to keep searching for the right books.

Wonderful!
I read the Brie series a year ago and loved it along with Sir Davis, Master Anderson and Rystar! It was refreshing to know them 'established' first and then come back to read how their stories began. Unfortunately this only cemented my dislike for Samantha.
If you haven't read the Brie books (which you should), read those first then come back to this and reminisce AND see who else from the series makes appearances.

I finally decided to dip my toes into the world of Red Phoenix. Don’t ask me what took so long. I am totally hooked. I started with these books instead of Brie’s Submission because I love to know the background of how people become what they are. I am in awe of these three dominant alpha males. I can’t wait to binge every book about these three! And every other book from this talented author.

these books took all kinds of twists and turns, but the last one was the best. what happened to Anton's mother was heartbreaking but how he handled his family was raw dog. the fact that Thane and Anderson were by his side was great as well.

I'm not too far into the Brie series, and Rystar has always been a mystery. I loved learning about Sir and Anton's beginning. The emotional struggles that they had to endure have bonded them for life, and I can't wait to continue their journey!

Red Phoenix is one of my favorite authors! Her ability to combine so many stories and tie them all together with constantly engaging the reader. Loved this book...on to book two (Bries Submission).
