For Jim, that day came on a warm summer afternoon in the hills of Kentucky. For a teenage boy, who watched his parents die in the worst possible way, Jim wasn't sure where this would all end. That day did set into motion an idea that not everyone here on Some, like the devil, are here to destroy and devour. Year after year, wherever the devil went, Jim was right on his tail. Waco, Oklahoma City, Katrina, Columbine, 9/11, and many many more.
Wherever there was death and destruction, you would find Jim.He vowed to friends and family he would stop the craziness. After all, what was he going to do if he found him? His vow to God was a little different. He promised to never quit.
Enthous is a noun from the ancient Greek word enthousiasmos, meaning "possessed" by or inspired by God! Jim did find the man he was looking for. The reason for all of Jim's travels, all his heartache, was the pursuit of one man. That person was at every tragedy in America, probably at each tragedy around the world. Against all odds and to his surprise, Jim found a man who, unlike the devil, had a different role in history. Jim's journey was something inspired from within, something inspired by God!
This book was an excellent read, especially during 2020!!! I needed to read this book this summer. It’s funny how books fall into your lap, when you need them. An extremely intriguing story! With all that is happening in the world, this book really really struck a cord! Being from Colorado and remembering The Columbine tragedy like it was yesterday, I related so much to Jim’s character.... especially because I experienced a childhood trauma that I carry with me in the form of PTSD. Jim is so relatable in that my faith is my strength, although I struggle with the “what if’s”. Jim explores the darkest, most difficult events to happen in our world that I can recall in my lifetime, yet he provided a spark of hope amid the chaos. This book reminded me a little of a Marvel character who suffers in his quest to fight evil! Very cool book!! I’m looking forward to reading this story again!
