Jack Thompson is an international bestselling author finding voices in many genres. In addition to his popular Raja Williams mystery series, Jack writes science fiction, political thrillers, paranormal romance, children's stories and fairy tales.
According to Jack, whether reading or writing, what makes a story great is how well it communicates to the reader. Whether presenting him with a hero he wishes he could be or a villain he chooses to hate, the characters must relate to the reader on a personal level. A reader will leave a good story in an improved condition. He may have learned something new about the world or himself, or simply been well entertained. That's why Jack writes.
I've read all the stories written by Jack Thompson. All of them have been very well written and entertaining. This story is different from his others and very, very suspenseful. The ending is shocking! I'll look forward to the next book which I know will keep my eyes wide open. Good job, Jack!
This is an unusual book. It’s main focus is on the obsessiveness of men concerning a certain beautiful woman they meet. But I also noticed that the detective in this story is obsessed in trying to find the truth.
The reason for the 4 star rating was that I didn’t like the ending. But don’t let that stop you from reading this book.
I am updating my review after the author rewrote the ending. I now give it a solid 5 stars! The new ending makes more sense and ties up the case nicely! Hats off to our hero detective realizing he needs help from the 2 females in his life! After all, you never send in a man to do woman’s work! Lol! Read it and you’ll understand.
I received an ARC from the author. All opinions expressed here are my own.
Evil or obsession? When a man becomes obsessed with a woman and he will do anything for her, even kill others, is he obsessed by an evil spirit or by the evil of obsession? Mr. Thompson’s new book follows a complicated storyline filled with questions of the evil man brings upon himself with his attitude and his actions. Thompson writes a compelling story which is well written and disturbing. An in-depth look at the obsessions of men.
I received a review copy from the author at my request and this is my honest opinion. This is an excellent police procedural plus so much more. There are elements of possible supernatural involvement, corruption, and a hint of romance. And while there are plenty of sexual elements there are no explicit scenes, for which I am very grateful. The characters here are true-to-life, relatable, and not overblown with dialogue that is natural-sounding without any awkward or stilted portions. There is plenty of suspense and unexpected developments. If I had to come up with any criticism it would be that a couple of times the story gets a bit bogged down. There is so much story to tell that it becomes somewhat difficult to digest all of it. However, it isn't so much that it weighs the story down; just something this reader noticed. I will be checking out other books by Mr. Thompson and highly recommend this one.
