Connie's dream of opening Connie's Cafe is about to become reality... Until the dead body of her realtor is found on the deck of the building she's just purchased. It's a race against time as she tries to find out who killed him, before they can kill her.
This is the second book in The Connie Cafe Mystery Series, a perfect series for lovers of clean small town mysteries that feature coffee and an amateur sleuth who’s in way over her head.
2.5 stars. This was somehow better and worse than the first one at the same time. These desperately need a proofreader. This had loose ends and not enough investigation for a cozy mystery. The end was too convenient.
It was fun to see Connie getting her cafe going. I was kinda disappointed that the person I saw as a possible love match turned out to be the murder victim. I loved how Connie and her mom and her bestie get along so well even if they are so different and don't necessarily make the same choices. Also, Connie's frequent talks with God sure remind me of how some of my own convos go. Definitely loving this series and recommend it highly.
Charming with a side of coffee, Connie cafe is sure to please. I enjoyed the story, definitely wanted to bash the mean girls ( and they do come in a variety of ages, clearly not having learned the wisdom of age) and rejoiced when the villain was revealed. An enjoyable story and an absolutely worthwhile read.
This second installment of the Connie Cafe mysteries keeps rolling along with Connie and her sidekicks. Entertaining and inspirational, as she shares her challenges with God in prayer, then sets out to solve the crime. Great plot twists.
Connie Cafe #2 in the series....she does indeed find a location for the cafe, however, neighbors beware, a murder is on the street again...is it Connie? Short and catchy, you won't want to put them down.
I love reading a Maisy Marple mystery! The story flows just like a gentle stream. The characters are believable and fun. I also appreciate the Scriptures and Heavenly Father theme. I can't wait to read the next book.
The coffee gets richer and the cast gets quirkier. The small town of Coffee Creek continues to expand as we meet some more of Connie's neighbors. And with a little push, Connie might even wind up with a for-real boyfriend! The mystery around the dead body is really just motivation for us to meet the unusual inhabitants of Coffee Creek.
I won't belabor the plot line. It can be read from the author herself. But, I will say that this second book was just as fun and engaging to me as the first. Super job, Maisy (whoever you are)! Getting ready to start the third one today. Oh boy!
God is not a genie. You can't just pray for what you want and believe if you get it's God's Will. Sometimes He gives you what you want whether it's His Will or not. Also, a woman can be a whole person without having a man. Being single doesn't make you less than.
