Enneagram #3

The Gospel For Achievers: A 40-Day Devotional for Driven, Successful Go-Getters:

Rate this book
What if the biggest obstacle to achieving your goals is you?

For the Enneagram Three—the Achiever—life is about success, image, and getting things done. While the world needs go-getters like the Achievers, sometimes their own ambitions can be their downfall. So, how do you achieve the way God intended when He created you?

Certified Enneagram Coach and pastor, Tyler Zach, wrote this devotional to help you figure out how to be a human being, rather than a human doing.

As you dig into each individual devotion, you’ll gain insight into the way God created you and how He wants to use you, specifically to do His Kingdom work. As you learn who God designed you to be as an Achiever, you’ll begin to discover ways you might be—unintentionally—blocking the path to your spiritual, relational, and work goals. You’ll find the courage to face some of your biggest fears: embracing your emotions as natural and even helpful, seeing the value of other people and their ideas, and resting in God’s plan for your life.

The goal of this study is to create more honest, authentic Achievers, who aren’t afraid to take off their masks. It’s a search for identity, not in what you do or who you’re associated with, but in God.

While other books offer individual chapters for the Type Three Achiever, this entire devotional is dedicated to revealing spot-on, life-changing Biblical truths for you; Life changing truth given through pages of Scripture, profound quotes, inspiring messages, Christ-centered applications, reflection questions, prayers, and practical ways to respond.

Join Tyler on this 40-day journey as he leads you to examine your life as an Achiever, giving you the tools to pursue your calling in healthy, God-honoring ways.

Brilliantly relevant and immensely empowering, this book is one I want all my Enneagram 3 friends to read. Enneagram work creates opportunity for God to shape us in ways that push against our grain and grow us into the best version of ourselves; The Gospel for Achievers is an incredible tool to help cultivate both spiritual and personal growth, bringing further depth to Enneagram work by pursuing it through the lens of the gospel. It is written by an Achiever for Achiever, and it speaks straight into the priorities and struggles common to 3s.

100 stars! This is a book for 3s written by a 3 anc it shows! This spoke to me in my core! Astounding the things revealed to me through this devotional. I tell people when they question the enneagram that I can't fix it if I can't see it! I can't enhance and lean into it if i can't see it! This book helped me see it! Thank you Tyler!

Tyler Zach did a great job with this devotional. He captured the personality of a Type 3 and gave great daily reflections for the reader to consider the gospel every single day. If you are a Type 3 on the enneagram and you want to know how to better center your life on the good news that God loves you, add this devotional to your list!

Overall, I appreciated the gospel emphasis of this devotional book. As a Jesus follower, enneagram serves as a great means by which to understand ourselves and our motivations. Yet those motivations are in need of examination, repentance, and faith in Jesus. Zach, writing as a three, struggles with the thing that all 3's struggle with: a mechanical, accomplishment approach to life and especially people. So as I read the entries, I found that the examination of the 3's inner life was helpful, but much of the application and "tasks" were mechanically driven. At the core, the 3 struggles to see people as anything other than a tool. And they view life as a series of tasks to be defeated. I'm not sure this devotional really rose above that and instead came up with a less selfish way to still live like a 3.

Regardless, I found the self-analysis helpful and was glad to see the thoughts and motivations of a 3 explained by a 3.

[I received a review copy of this from the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.]

I am not an Enneagram 3, but I was able to find lots to think about from the devotionals in this collection. The layout of each day is a scripture, the devotional thought, a prayer, reflection questions (with space to write), and an action step. I sent a friend who is an Enneagram 3 to the author's website where there are three sample devotions. She found them interesting and challenging in all the right ways. I can't wait to see this series develop and get a devotional for my number in the future.

obviously took me more than 40 days, because there was so much goodness to process & wrestle with. I truly feel like this book was written just for me. It genuinely changed my walk with God to understand so much more about how I need Him in areas I didn’t know before, sins I didn’t know I struggled with, etc. I cannot recommend this book enough — read the one for your specific type!!

Helpful for Enneagram 3s

A good resource for anyone who is an Enneagram 3, or who knows one. Spoke right to many of my issues and applied gospel truth to my life.
