Wedding planner Annabelle Archer is finally getting married! If only she could focus on her wedding and not the fact that her one of her high-profile grooms has vanished.
The last thing Annabelle Archer wants to do the week of her wedding is talk to one of her former brides. But when her old client is distraught because her husband is missing, Annabelle can’t seem to say no to the bride’s plea for help. Not only that, but a hurricane is bearing down on the Caribbean island that she’s chosen for her wedding to hunky cop Mike Reese.
Now her wedding plans are in disarray and she’s hunting for clues—not exactly how she’d imagined spending her last days as a single woman. Luckily, she has her colorful crew of wedding cohorts to help. But as her wedding day approaches, the groom is still MIA and the clues are starting to point back at the wedding industry. What secrets was he hiding and what did they have to do with the city’s wedding planners?
Bride or Die is the 16th book in the Agatha Award-winning Annabelle Archer Wedding Planner Mystery Series. If you like hilarious-yet-deadly whodunits, charming characters, and delightfully witty tales, you’ll love Laura Durham’s cozy mystery series.
I'm a writer and reformed wedding planner who loves quiet mornings, great books, paddle boarding, and blackberry cobbler.
I write humorous cozy mysteries about a wedding planner because I like books that make me laugh and because, after planning weddings for twenty years, I have a long list of people to kill.
When Annabelle Archer, wedding planner extraordinaire and amateur sleuth, has her Caribbean wedding halted due to a hurricane, the crew scrambles to find an alternate venue. While scouring D.C. for a place to hold the wedding, Annabelle is contacted by a former bride whose husband has disappeared and the bride begs her to help find him. Who says you can't investigate and plan a wedding at the same time!
The book has all the elements I love in this series - a mystery that keeps you guessing, lovable characters, humor (maybe read by yourself because I guarantee you'll laugh out loud 😁), friendship, witty dialogue and fast-paced writing.
Sit back and get comfy because you won't want to move until you finish the book. I'm ready for the next Wedding Belles production!
Annabelle is getting married in Jamaica until the hurricane hits. Now she’s planning a last-minute wedding in DC and helping a past bride search for her missing husband. Lots of fun and a solved mystery. I highly recommend this book.
I have always thoroughly enjoyed author Laura Durham’s fabulous Annabelle Archer Wedding Planner Mystery Series. However, I have to admit, I never imagined myself reading her latest release BRIDE OR DIE the week leading up to my own Daughter’s Wedding! The book offered a great distraction to #PandemicWeddingPlanning! I highly recommend it!
BRIDE OR DIE is Book 16 in the Series. You may read the book as a standalone, but to truly appreciate all of the excellent chemistry and nuances between the characters, these books should be read in sequential order. Durham has amassed the greatest set of eclectic characters to star in her Series! Each of them has a specific role and then they have a role in the part of the Wedding Planners team and another role in their friend group. They function as three concentric circles. While they sometimes may have a small conflict amongst themselves, no one else dare cross them because they close ranks quickly and no one is allowed to penetrate the circle.
In this latest release, Wedding Planner Annabelle Archer finally gets to wed hunky Detective Mike Reese. Her Assistant Kate from Wedding Belles, as well as all of their other Team Members (Richard, Fern, Buster and Mack and even her eccentric, octogenarian neighbors Leatrice and Sidney Allen), have pulled together and planned a Tropical Destination Wedding for the couple. With all these experts at work what could possibly go wrong? A Pandemic? No, nothing like that! Just a simple HURRICANE heading straight to their Destination. . .. Meanwhile, as they ponder where to move the Wedding, a former Bride calls Annabelle to ask her to stop by her home. She’s a former Pageant Winner and he’s a DC News Political Commentator. He’s missing after only six months of marriage! WHO DO YOU CALL? Your WEDDING PLANNER, of course!! Only if you used Wedding Belles though, because they have an excellent track record assisting the police in solving crimes. What happens next presents readers Durham’s best whodunnit to date! In the midst of helping with the investigation, the Wedding Belles Team manages to pull off a relocated Wedding that proves to be the Surprise Event of the Year!
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by the author. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence.
Another great book by Laura Durham! Honestly, I don't think this writer is capable of writing anything but great books, as I've always found her books to be fun and entertaining, and this book is right up there with the rest. This time it's Annabelle's turn for her own wedding to the good-looking Detective Mike Reese. However, a hurricane is heading straight for her destination wedding location, and not only is Annabelle forced to relocate, but she's also been asked to investigate the missing husband of a former bride of hers. While she investigates, the rest of Annabelle's crew is determined to do their best to make sure that Annabelle's wedding isn't a bust. Unfortunately, Annabelle's mother is in town and is determined to hijack the wedding and remake it into a high society-style wedding, forcing Annabelle to take evasive action. The situation gets more dire as clues turn up indicating possible foul play. The action just keeps on building, and this was one mystery that I didn't figure out on my own. Will Annabelle survive to make it to her own wedding? I absolutely loved this story, especially the camaraderie and caring of Annabelle's wacky crew, as they'll stop at nothing to make sure that the case is solved and Annabelle makes it to her wedding on time! I received an ARC copy, but the opinions expressed are solely my own.
Bride or Die, the sixteenth book in Annabelle Archer by Laura Durham is fun and entertaining as always.
What is different this time is the fact that Annabelle is organizing her own wedding, instead of someone else's. But as things usually go with the 'gang' nothing goes according to the plan. To top things off, Amanda, bride whose wedding Annabelle organized months ago is asking for help. And Annabelle, being herself can't say no. Meanwhile, things are crazier than ever especially when Gwen, Annabelle's mother shows up to 'help' with preparations. Solving a crime while dodging her mother's helpful suggestions is no easy task for anyone and date of the wedding is getting closer and closer.
I have religiously been following Annabelle's adventures since the first book and this is one of my favorite series. It is without the fault highly entertaining and so much fun, mostly due to the wonderful cast of characters. Each of them having their own strengths and weaknesses that they bring to the group but all of them without fail having each other's backs. Mysteries are well presented, the reader can easily follow the clues and solve the mystery together with the protagonists. Great enjoyment as always.
Annabelle and her gang are at it again! This time, it’s Annabelle’s turn to be the bride. However, nothing is going as she planned. I loved this book and I absolutely adore the quirky but loveable characters. Annabelle finds herself once again in the middle of a potential murder investigation - while she’s supposed to be focusing on her wedding! Things get crazy, Annabelle flirts with danger, and we have to wonder if she will ever have the opportunity to marry the guy of her dreams!
Laura Durham never disappoints and she certainly didn’t with this one. A must read for Annabelle fans! You absolutely won’t be disappointed!
Annabelle is finally going to be the bride and she has lots of help planning her wedding after the plans to fly to Jamaica fall through. While Annabelle and Kate visit with a previous bride who seems to have lost her husband, Richard, Fern and Leatrice keep Gwen busy. Gwen is Annabelle’s mother and she just loves her son in law to be. Det. Reese seems to looking for the missing husband and so are the wedding planners. Who will find out the truth? Very good book as are all the Laura Durham books have been.
Another typical Annabelle and friends book: loads of fun, excitement and laughter.
Even so Annabelle and her fiancé are getting married in one week time she can't say "no" to a former client who needs her help to find her missing husband of 6 month.
Everybody is shocked that she spends time to trek down the errand husband and not concentrating on her own wedding but her mother and friends are taking over and when a hurricane is descending on Jamaica (where the wedding shall take place) and her mother is coming earlier than planned Annabelle needs more and more to keep busy.
Another great Annabelle Archer Wedding Planner Mystery! Has humor, unique characters, a little romance and definitely twisty turns in the ongoing saga of life as a wedding planner. This is a super stand alone mystery, but I would recommend that you read all the books in this series. Seriously, you won’t be able to put them down! I can’t wait for the next book in the series to come out. What crazy trouble will Annabelle get into next?
When a hurricane ruins the beach wedding of wedding planner Annabelle Archer one week before the day, her friends take over to give her a wedding to remember. While Richard takes charge of planning Annabelle and Kate help a former client look for her missing husband. All your favorite characters are here, Fern, the Mighty Morphin Flower Arrangers, Leatrice and of course the hunkie husband-to-be detective Mike Reese.
The day has finally come for Wedding Planner, Annabelle Archer to marry her hunky fiance/ detective. Everything that can go wrong does starting from their destination wedding in Jamaica being canceled due to a pending hurricane. There are many hilarious moments as the wedding plans have to be completely changed. A really fun read to escape to.
Just finished the whole Annabelle Archer series and I absolutely love each of them. The characters each have their own unique personality and written so well that I had actually several laugh out loud episodes. That doesn’t usually happen when I’m reading a book. Richard and Fern are hysterical!!! I hope Laura Durham continues this series or continues another series with these characters. They are fun!
I'm going to keep this review brief: Finally -- FINALLY!!! -- Annabelle and Reese get their day. Of course, it wouldn't be complete without a mystery and the craziness her friends and her mom add to the days leading up to the big day.
Another crazy romp with Annabelle and her wedding crew. With her wedding plans disrupted by a hurricane Annabelles friends scramble to find her a new wedding venue, while Annabelle helps one of her former brides find her missing husband. This is the 16th book in this series and I've read them all. Cant wait for the next one! Highly recommend.
I have to say I have read every book in this wonderful series and they just keep getting better! Laura Durham has a way of making you feel like you are part of the story and once you are in you are obsessed until you get to the end! Absolutely awesome storyline and of course a wedding! A must read for any Annabelle Archer fan!
Laura Durham delivers another wonderful book in the Annabelle Archer mystery series. These books are such a great read and the characters so fun and rich. I lived in northern Virginia for almost 15 years so I also love the DC setting and familiar landmarks. Can't wait for the next one.
LOVED this book! We get to learn more about Annabell's mom and as always, get to see the crazy crew pull together and solve a mystery and pull off another wedding. Happy to see the crew back in action, just sad it had to come to an end. Can't wait for the next book. Where will they go from here?
This is a funny read. Typical jaunt with Annabelle as she can't keep from investigating a possible murder. The end was wrapped up quickly and should have had more thought put into it. Still good read.
Another AWESOME book with Annabelle Archer and her crew! Although, this time is HER wedding the gang is preparing. As usual, zaniness comes into play. I love this series, and can't recommend it enough!!
I am enjoying this series so much. With every one I read I think I'll switch authors for a bit, but it's like not being able to eat just one potato chip, I'm so engaged in the characters I go on to the next...and the next.
I love the Annabelle Archer books. It’s finally time for the wedding planner to walk down the aisle herself. Needless to say, things don’t go as planned. But all is well at the end.
A Caribbean wedding in hurricane season, what could possibly g0o wrong? A lot is what. We have watched Annabelle get 15 couples married successfully but can get herself married? Maybe she will need wee bit more help than usual this time.
Their married! I love Annabelle and her crazy bunch of friends. Wedding day disasters abound and there's a possible murderer on the lose. Nothing they can't handle. I was even wrong about who did it.
Even with her own wedding looming, Annabelle can't resist getting involved in a crime. Her wedding team, with a good bit of humor, take over the wedding plans. I found myself laughing all the way through this book.
Im so happy Annabelle and Reese finally tied the knot! Of course it wouldn't be Annabelle if she didn't get sidetracked into a bit of trouble. Great book! Can't wait to see what's next!

I enjoyed the book very much. I didn’t want the person who was the killer to be the killer but everything was done well. I loved Annabelle’s mother and the comradeship of her friends.
