Prince Luca is promised to another woman...
…my sister.
There’s only one problem: he wants me instead.

Margot LeBlanc is gorgeous. She’s blonde. She’s tall.
She’s the biggest star in the Kingdom.
She’s my sister, and she has it all.

Including an arranged relationship with the hottest Prince on the planet.

Me, on the other hand?
I’m the shorter, chubbier, never-been-kissed, black-haired version of Margot.
Men aren’t exactly lining up to date me.

So, when Prince Luca makes me melt with those dangerous, intoxicating eyes, I think he’s toying with me.
When he tells me that he wants to do all kinds of filthy things to me, I think he’s lying.
When he wraps his arms around me and tells me I’m his, I’m finished.

My brooding, possessive Prince is about to be my first, my last, and my everything.
But as the Prince and I grow closer, Margot and I drift further apart.

Pretty soon, I have to choose: Do I follow my heart and my knight in shining armor, or do I stay true to the sister that’s been by my side since the beginning?

Knocked Up by the Broken Prince is the fourth instalment in the Knocked Up Royals Series. If you like bad heroes and feisty heroines, you’ll love this contemporary Snow White retelling.

Please note that there’s a small cliffhanger at the end of the book, and it should be read with Book 5: Knocked Up by the Wicked Prince for maximum enjoyment.

Lilian Monroe lives in a luxurious jungle treehouse surrounded by lush greenery, with an army of scantily-clad men with rippling abdominal muscles ready to attend to her every need.

No, wait. That's not true.

Lilian Monroe spends her days dangling her feet into her pool, while a scantily-clad pool boy with rippling abdominal muscles feeds her chocolate-covered strawberries and massages her back.

Okay, okay. You got me. That's not true, either. Let's try again.

Lilian Monroe lives at home with her two children, three dogs, and twelve chickens. Her husband likes to work shirtless in the back yard. His sweaty, gleaming abdominal muscles ripple with every movement and he—

I'm sorry. I have to stop. Fine, I'll admit it. That one isn't true either.

How about this: Lilian Monroe loves thinking about men with rippling abdominal muscles serving her hand and foot, and she wants you to think about them too! She is an avid reader, writer, and lover of all things romance.

She loves everything from bad boys to billionaires. Her books are packed with sizzling-hot heat, action, suspense, and everything from second chances to single dads. She hates cheating and loves a good happily ever after (and rippling abs).

Uhh! Will this trope ever end?

You have a zero whose ex hooked up with his brother (the King) and he feels betrayed, and a heroine who also betrays her sister (zero's current fake GF) with the zero. So yep, double dipping galore here.

And if that is not enough, a zero who is hooked on drugs but miraculously recovers when he meets heroine.🙄

Sheesh!

I wanted to like this book as I read the first three in the series… but something was just off! I couldn’t get into these characters, the writing style maybe?? Whatever it was I just skimmed most of this and hoped it finished quickly. I’m all for the realization of a story but most of the time you go into it for the happily ever after… the male character is a wounded guy that uses drugs that was a big turn off for me… but I kept going then he is supposedly set up to date a super star the heroines sister… if she was that big of an actress why set this up?!!! Then the female lead Ivy I wanted to like her but omg she was soooo freaking blind and let everyone walk over her! The prince wanted her but she kept saying he was promised to her sister umm no they had a deal she wasn’t royalty to be promised to anyone sheesh… this wasn’t for me I hate cliffhangers I soundly have started if the other book wasn’t available… just not for me… I didn’t like the way the king got with the hero’s girlfriend… I know I had read in a comment about how it was explained I didn’t get it still made no sense how she did that regardless of the situation! I didn’t like the entitlement of the actress sister… I didn’t like the drug use of the hero… I didn’t like the how naive the heroine was…ok on to the next so I can just drop this series already…

I picked this up because I read the first one or two books in the series and figured this would be an easy light read that didn't require much attention to grasp and would pass the time.

And I was right, though I skimmed atleast half the book.

Honestly, it was so boring. Like, I appreciate what the author was offering but oh man, the execution was just massively disappointing.

Ivy was extremely boring and predictable. Literally could have picked her character and personality out of any harlequin romance tbh. Snooze city. Not to mention her thoughts were often over dramatic and woe is me. Always whining about being jealous of her sister but not in a malicious way because she loved her sister and she was a saint. Wah wah wah.

Though, ironically Ivy had some personality in her scenes with Luca. Atleast at first. Then truly I have no idea what appealed to Luca about her because like I said; she was boring. Uninteresting. Maybe her two different colored eyes and black hair? Meh.

Luca could have been such a fascinating hero but it just never lived up to the potential. At all.

Luca was the only likeable character in the entire book tbh although he was rather rude and cringy in the beginning. Wasn't feeling him at all.

Truly, the scene where he's making out with Margot (Ivy's sister) and makes direct eye contact with Ivy who is watching from around the corner was EXTREMELY uncomfy. Not because of what was happening or that Ivy was being a voyeur but because she was enjoying it and feeling hot and bothered by watching her sister making out with a hot dude...like BRUH. Your sister! Super cringe. Not sexy. Pass.

Anyway, typical story. Predictable characters, predictable plot, predictable drama and angst. Predictable bad guys. Blah blah blah.

The relationship between Ivy and Luca was kinda cute at times but Ivy's constant "we shouldn't" on repeat was super annoying and so was her repeatedly calling him "your highness" even when they had become closer and he had even told her tol call him Luca at this point. Blech.

And I honestly thought Ivy was older but she later reveals she just turned twenty-one...like.. honestly? Wow. Luca was mid-thirties supposedly (atleast according to Ivy) so the gap was a bit surprising when her age was dropped because I just assumed she was older than Margot considering how she described all the years she took care of Margot when their mom was ill and how she was always looking out and putting Margot first etc.

I think the author did wrong making her not only so much younger but having her be the youngest too. It didn't fit with the narrative or the plot tbh.

Pretty disappointing read. The pregnancy reveal happened at the very end and amounted to zilch. Ivy sucked balls and her sister was a waste of space. The end.

Hmm. It was okay.

It kept me engaged and I finished the book, although I skimmed some parts.

It’s definitely not insta-love. Hero is still in love with his ex Cara, wants to fuck the h sister, makes out with her while maintaining eye contact with the h, still wants to fuck the sister even after meeting h. It’s mainly physical attraction, H wants to get his dick wet for lack of a better term. All the while Cara is still the main character in his heart.

However seeing/meeting the heroine changes nothing at first, as I’ve explained. ^.. It takes a few encounters before the H truly notices the heroine.

Moving on…
I just didn’t feel the hot chemistry between Luca and Ivy. Obviously, they cared for one another. That much is clear and it’s sweet.

But the way Luca felt about the love of his life, his first love Cara, that unfortunately broke his heart by marrying his brother.. that felt more in depth and real.
Perhaps a love triangle novel would have suited this story line better, between Theo, Luca and Cara? And that’s coming from someone who’s not a big love triangle fan.

OR, even better.. Theo and Ivy end up together and Luca could have gotten his soul mate back. Damn. That would’ve been a ride but completely satisfying. 🤨

The way he would look at Cara and the emotions described about her didn’t compare to how he felt towards Ivy IMO. I found myself low-key waiting for more opportunities between Cara and Luca being alone or having special late night encounters then I did with Ivy and Luca.

I don’t know what it is.

The feelings grew between Luca and Ivy as the book continued, it was a nice progression but the spark just wasn’t there for me.
They felt more like best friends with benefits that ended up together more out of comfortability and convenience.. and then obligation being the pregnancy of the h. But the “I love you’s” are added in for good measure to complete an HEA.

Sigh.

I feel duped. Cara and Luca deserved a 2nd chance.

Now moving on to the annoying aspects. *cracks knuckles

- heroine is a walking pity party who’s bitter as hell
- Margo (sister) is a selfish wench who takes advantage of her surroundings when possible
- hero is magically cured from his serious drug addiction to opioids by spending time with heroine 🥱
- double triple dipping
- complete dismissal of the fact that there is SERIOUS drug abuse in both families, not to mention psychopathy after a murder attempt is made but ehhhhhh. It’s a simple *shucks, I saw this coming god darn it.
- dragged out chapters until the “HEA” and half-ass resolution is slammed into the last 10% of the book.
- loose ends loose ends LOOSE ENDS never endddddd.

I said what I said.

I’m out. 😑

- B.S.

I was blown away by this one. I don’t say this lightly. There was so much going on here that I don’t know where to start. You have Ivy who is constantly in her sister Margot’s shadow and is supposed to follow her around wherever she goes while at the same time looking out for her. Ivy has lived most of her life on the coattails of Margot and envies her with everything she is and is jealous of her popularity and ability to get the men. Envy plays a huge role in this story and it was very interesting with the way this theme is explored. I know it is a retelling of some Disney princess story but I just can’t quite put my finger on it. Maybe Snow White? It must be because there is a lot of poison references, not to mention actual poison and drugs plays a huge role in this. It was a big thing that is relied on by Luca and in some cases Margot. There was so much backstabbing and anger as well as jealousy among all characters that it was intense and so toxic. Yet, aside from that drama, Luca and Ivy’s relationship has all the sizzle, heat and emotion, not to mention the lust that seems to be the main feeling driving these princes so far in this series. I think I like that exploration the best out of all of these, it just makes the chemistry and intimacy more intense and exciting. I’m also loving how quick the princes fall in love and are not afraid to take that leap. Aside from this, the drama was off the charts in this and I loved it all. There are so many a ha moments and surprises along the way that you don’t see coming but yet are not shocked it actually happens in this environment. The trail of jealousy between Beckett and Luca as well as him with Cara and Theo was a big part of this story. Then you have Ivy with all of Margot’s success and Margot’s agent Hunter who uses Margot as his own personal power play. It was so exciting and I loved this one! I’m looking forward to the next.

I loved this book. You would think that after three royal knocked up books they’d start getting boring but Ms. Monroe has done a great job of making sure all the plots and characters are different and interesting. The book grabbed my attention from the very beginning. I very much enjoyed Ivy and Luca’s story. This can be read as a standalone book. You don’t have to read the first three books to know what’s going on and not feel lost. There is some minor interaction with the characters from books one through three.

Luca is in Farcliff to help his family out. He’s been setup with Ivy’s famous actress sister Margot. Luca is a self-absorbed prince nursing a grudge against his older brother who married Luca’s ex while he was away in rehab learning to walk after a terrible accident that broke his back. Thanks to that back-injury Luca is addicted to Opioids.

Ivy is used to living in Margot’s shadow and it’s left her with some very serious self esteem issues. She meets Luca when he’s set up to be Margot’s fake boyfriend. Luca doesn’t want Margot and finds himself attracted to Ivy. He starts seeing Ivy in private but has to keep up the charade of being Margot’s boyfriend.

Things threaten to come between Ivy and Luca when their relationship gets out. Ivy finds herself pregnant not knowing what to do. Can she get over the guilt and feeling that she betrayed her sister?

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Prince Luca returns from his recovery in Singapore with all his bad boy vibes on display. Betrayed by the love of his life and his brother, the king, Luca is in a dark place still wracked by the pain of his injury and looking for anything that will numb his body and mind.

To promote the royal family and improve their image, Prince Luca and actress Margot are contracted to be “an item”. He escorts her to events and she poses prettily for the pictures and generously interacts with her fans.

Luca plays the game half heartedly because he meets Margot’s sister Ivy. Accustomed to living in Margot’s shadow, Ivy does her best to support and promote her sister and tries in earnest to resist Prince Luca’s considerable charms.

As Royal family intrigue weaves with carefully nurtured new love, we are led through deception cloaked in jealousy and self interest. Luca and Ivy’s story marches toward it’s conclusion just as Margot’s secrets are revealed to pull us toward Book 5.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This novel is book 4 in the Royally Unexpected series. In this series, Prince Luca is the second prince from the country of Argyle. Argyle is a tropical isle, and the King wants to re-establish trading with other royal countries, including Faircliff. Prince Luca suffered a life-threatening injury, which altered his life. He spends his days avoiding the Argyle royal family and living “La Vida Loca”. While his family is visiting the Royal Family of Faircliff, his PR agency sets him up with Margot LeBlanc. Margot is an ex-model turned actress. She is America’s sweetheart. Unfortunately, Prince Luca is more interested in her personal assistant/sister, Ivy.

Since I enjoyed the first three novels in this series, I decided to give this one a read. There was even more psychological complexity than in the previous novels. I also like the criminal element that was added and will be carried into the next novel in the series. Lillian Monroe’s beautifully written novel was intriguing and entertaining. I am ready to read the next novel in the series.

This is an ARC review. All opinions are solely my own.

Knocked Up by the Broken Prince was a difficult read and I’m glad I stuck with this one. This is book 4 of Lilian Monroe’s Knocked Up Royals series. These books are escapism fairy tale retellings.

I had a hard time liking Luca. I really hated him. I literally wrote myself a note asking, “Am I supposed to like/root for Luca?” I think the answer was yes as I did come around by the end of the book but it took me quite a while to get there. There are several triggers in this book but I’m glad I finished because Luca wormed his way into my heart. Ivy is his perfect grounding wire.

If you need to escape real life I suggest this fairy tale series.

Out of the hole set I LOVED this look! A bad boy with a hart that hard it broken the same time he broke his back
Finally able to walk again his brother expects Luca attend a royal event. First time Luca going to be in the same area as his brother and his ex Fiance... being set up on a blind date what could go wrong?

Ivy life evolves around her supermodel sister.. her sister relies on levy for everything so lvy puts her life on hold onto her sister being a prince into her life who about to change her life forever If she finally give in to her own needs.

This was such a cute story! I love the banter that Luca and Ivy had. The plot of the story really leaves you on a cliff hanger of what’s to come in the next book while closing out the adventure Luca and Ivy went on.

Ivy is used to being in the shadows. She doesn’t like the spot light on her. She would rather let Margot shine and be the unsung hero. She is fierce and hilarious.

Luca is a mess. He was just out of fixing his life when he is thrown into dating Ivy’s sister. He’s lowkey petty towards his brother Theo and Cara. But he is also soooooooo loveable.

I received an arc for an honest review. This book brings up Luca and Ivy. Luca was supposed to be with Margot, Ivy's sister, however, he only has eyes for Ivy. Luca has been through a lot, he was severely injured and has to relearn how to walk. He is also addicted to the drugs he is taking for his back. Luca can't seem to stay away from Ivy, so they see each other in secret.. There are some twists involving both of them, but the epilogue is fantastic. I highly recommend this book.

Ivy and Prince Luca find themselves in a convoluted relationship. For the good of her homeland, Prince Luca is supposed to be dating Ivy's gorgeous actress sister, Margot. Margot is not attracted to Prince Luca - she has eyes for the prince's brother. Prince Luca wants Ivy, so he pursues her out of the public eye. Intrigue and deception occur. Ivy ends up pregnant and finally gets her HEA. Lilian Monroe writes a great story that is well worth reading.

An amazing intriguing royal romance.  This engaging storyline had me hooked from beginning to end.  It includes mystery, intrigue, suspense,  romance, love, passion  unexpected, jealousy,  sabotage and more. The characters are interesting,  well developed and have undeniable chemistry.  It leaves you a little hanging into the next book but well worth it. I voluntarily read and reviewed this incredible ARC.

Both characters depended on others to live their lives. Even though Luca felt Cara cheated on him it was his fault because he pushed her away along with his entire family. Once I read the full reason I was happy she found happiness.
Making her own decision to work for sister knowing how she felt about the entire situation, I had no sympathy for her. It was her decision to hide in the background. It was nice seeing both decided to live their life the way they wanted.

well……

Not too bad, but it drove me crazy how many times they said ‘he’s promised to my sister’. Good grief, people can’t make two strangers appear to have a relationship & get married. I about flipped when I read the h saying “I’m nearly 21”. She was only a young girl of 20! I prefer the h in the books I read to be a little more mature. Frequent use of the f* bomb, which actually distracts from the story for me.

Exciting Love Story and Suspense

Prince Luca meets his love in a bizarre way. He was publicity dating Margot, a beautiful actress. She invited him to her home and passed out. The Prince was bored so he starts snooping around and ends up in the kitchen. The most delicious cinnamon buns are plated on the counter. He eats all of them and in walks Ivy, the baker and Margot’s sister. From there the fun and suspenseful thriller zooms on.

Deliciously Good Read 😍😋

Read this in a night I couldn’t put it down!! I throughly enjoyed reading this. My mistake was not reading the royal series from book 1. So I was hella confused. I also love bake goods and this book made crave a cinnamon bun with apples 😋 seriously where can I find that pastry?!

I wasn't too sure about this book, almost out it down until another time. But then a good chunk of angst got mixed in and Luca quit being a tool. Part of me thought the thing he did for Ivy was high handed, but I also thought it was sweet. They actually are good together. I'm glad this book and the next are on ku. I jumped into Margo and Dante's story right away.

Yes I read this. I enjoyed but I felt like it was lacking in some places and the ending felt rushed. The timeline had me a little unsure a some points. The fact that Margot doesn’t remember what happened to her when she was with Prince Beckett. Luca’s brother and ex really did him dirty. That would hurt to have to look at the person who was once supposed to be your wife and confidant marry your brother as if your love never matter. He was already broken down and depressed— it honestly made the situation worse. I loved the sneak away moments with Ivy that he had. I’m not gone lie at a certain point I started skimming through the book.

Read this as part of a trilogy of the princes of Argyle

Ivy is sister and assistant to her sister, the glamourous actress and influencer Margot.

Margot agrees to be the fake date for Prince Luca. But he has designs for Ivy.

There are several in this series and the story isn't resolved in this book at all.

Well then!!

There was drama on top of the drama in this one. I was here for it all. I loved this book. The little cliffhangers at the end of chapters had me wanting to skip ahead.
Lilian Monroe definitely knows how to keep her readers interested and not wanting to stop reading until the very end and excited to download the next book immediately.

Poison Ivy anyone?

Another prince, another baby. I’m loving this series and all these little surprise babies.

Luca was supposed to be dating Ivy’s sister but only had eyes for her. Their love was secret but on fire. He supported her as she had never been supported before and she helped him understand his pain. I really enjoyed their dynamic and how the book progressed.

Broken Prince...

Royally Unexpected book 4. Beautiful story. Prince Luca is broken in So many ways but so is Ivy. They fit each other like peanut butter and jelly. Now add in a crazy Prince bent on bad doings, a selfish sister and agent, the messy level is kicked up to the beyond.
