A collection of over 100 historic stereoviews of the 1000 Islands taken during the Victorian era of the 1870s and 1880s. Views are presented in their original size and the book includes a stereoviewer so that the reader can experience the images in 3D. The Thousand Islands is a 50 mile region at the headwaters of the St. Lawrence River with close to 2000 islands ranging is size from a few square feet to almost 50 square miles. It is a well-known tourist destination and is visited by 1000s of people every year. In addition to explaining the scenes in each view, the narration includes the early history of this resort destination.

Such a beautiful collection of photographs from the 1000 Islands. I am partial to Thousand Island Park because our family has enjoyed the river there for over 40 years now. Just a blip in the timeline, but long enough to feel the history and know how lucky we are. Thanks Tom for putting this together!
