Our culture has lost its mind. Now, we are waging a bigger fight—a war for our soul.
Is it possible our world has gone mad? We are under siege and the war is not from without; it is from within. The collapse of the Roman Empire occurred in a single generation and was not so much the result of invasions by their enemies but the result of moral decay and internal corruption. Similar patterns are emerging in America. We neglected or abandoned our traditional institutions long ago, but now it’s time to take them back.
Today, forces are at work to strip the principles and precepts of faith from public venues or minimize their significance. Many progressive leaders are convinced that when Christianity disintegrates it will create peace on earth. But the loss of our heritage will merely create a spiritual vacuum that will be filled with folly, crammed with chaos, or invaded by Islam. The reality Western civilization will become so decadent and reckless that America will collapse like a house of cards.
In Hope for This Present Crisis, Dr. Youssef provides a diagnosis of the insanity of the current culture and a seven-step prescription for restoring sanity to a world gone mad. Here’s the seven-step path to restoring a world gone
This book will teach you how to stand up to attacks on your faith, and defend Christianity as a meaningful contribution to society.
Michael Youssef is the founder and president of Leading The Way with Dr. Michael Youssef, a worldwide ministry that leads the way for people living in spiritual darkness to discover the light of Christ through the creative use of media and on-the-ground ministry teams (www.LTW.org). His weekly television programs and daily radio programs are broadcast in 25 languages and seen worldwide, airing more than 13,000 times per week. He is also the founding pastor of The Church of The Apostles in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Youssef was born in Egypt, but in 1984, he fulfilled a childhood dream of becoming an American citizen. He holds numerous degrees, including a PhD in social anthropology from Emory University. He has authored more than 35 books, including recent popular titles The Barbarians Are Here and Jesus, Jihad and Peace. He and his wife have four grown children and eight grandchildren.
Michael Youssef identifies seven problems in the world today: (1) We've forgotten what's true (2) We have troubled souls (3) We are killing the concept of family (4) We have destroyed the classroom (5) We disrespect our freedoms (6) We need to restore our classrooms, and (7) We have an apostate church. Youssef tells us the problems, but then in an epilogue, he lays out an outline for the solution.
This book could transform nations and I believe that is its intention.
Excellent book. Full of truth, history, current events and solutions.
It's time for folks to walk away from the mob mentality and think for themselves. There are so many statues that were torn down of crusaders for freedom from slavery, even one of a former slave with the words expletive "slave owner", which, of course, he was not. Then the statue of an author who championed the right to vote for people of color in our country as well as creating the first African American schools. His statue had similar expletives painted across it.
I love that he includes solutions - daily, living life, individual and family solutions.
Dr. Youssef’s book clearly describes our current crisis in the U.S. and then delineates the only possible solution. Our country (and the world) must either unite around Jesus or continue to attack and destroy, slowly descending into the dark abyss of chaos in which there are no winners and from which no one returns. A living faith in Jesus is the only hope for any person or country on this earth.
I really appreciate the practical steps at the end to keep us focused on what we can do, rather than spend much energy being distressed...Now is the time to be intentional!
Excellent Excellent book. Sometimes Its healthy to step away from Fiction & put your mind to thought-provoking subjects that focus on reality, truth & wisdom. I heard about Michael Youssef on Family Talk with Dr James Dobson. Dr Tim Clinton interviewed him recently & their talk about this present nation drew me in. I immediately bought his book on audible. I don't know everything about the Common Core or what is called Outbased Education here in South AFrica but It definitely interests me. I don't want to be a parent, but parenting tips & education today in terms of Christian principles & how today's world is trying to derail & destroy Christianity & theverything to do with It makes one think. I don't know much about the Woke culture but that is also very interesting. It makes me think about how things are there in America, & how they are here in South Africa. It has very different names & sometimes there are different processes but It comes down to that there is an agenda. Marxism, Communism & Socialism is being forced on people through intimidation & It has strong names like racism, white supremicy & radicals. This book is definitely an eye-opener & I enjoy reading people's books that are interviewed on Christian podcasts like Focus on The Family & Family Talk. The foundations of the true Christian family is being attacked & the more my husband & I talk & the more I'm reading & listening to Christian interviews or sermons, the more things in the Word of God & the more clearer the realities of today are coming true which was prophisised thousands of years ago through the bible scholars. I am also finding that history is becoming so much more interesting to me, more then it did before & now that I'm understanding a lot more things as I am learning about these things, the more It makes me want to learn & take interest because at the end Its for our best interests to pay attention before the World sucks us into lies, deceit & Ungodlyness.
Michael Youssef’s book “Hope for This Present Crisis: The Seven-Step Path to Restoring a World Gone Mad” although focused on the current crisis in the U.S. reflects the problems in a technological world slowly degenerating under the pressure of issues like erosion of the family; decline of human rights; morality; and the weakening of the Church.
Well-written, powerful and inspirational he points to faith in Jesus Christ and putting on the Armour of God to defend our Christian principles and our sanity in this unstable climate. His seven-step prescription to restoration of a world assaulted by an eroding darkness is clear, concise and well worth reading.
We read this book on a road trip as a family. It was great that we all got to hear it and discuss it when we stopped. Now my son knows why I am in all his business and a confirmation that homeschooling has been a great idea for him. Youssef was SPOT ON! There was a great deal that I already knew but I did learn some things that had my jaw on the floor. Great book that every Christian needs to read!
