STARRED REVIEW *“Catering to young scientists, naturalists, and Shark Week fans-to-be, this visually arresting volume presents a good deal of information in easily digested bites. . . . Captivating—and not a bit terrifying.” — Kirkus Reviews

I am kind of obsessed with this little board book. It is part of the Abrams Block Book series and it's a thick board book with an impressive amount of information about sharks. I have a shark OBSESSED kid and so we have read a lot of books about sharks but few have been as interesting, thorough, or diverse in species as this one.

I love this series of extra chunky board books! This new one about sharks was released last month, and has made a great addition to our Abrams Block Book collection, which also includes CountaBlock, Farm Block and Disney Block!

Each turn of the page is an adventure with these books as you never know what interesting die-cut or page flap will greet you! This one is perfect for any young shark lover, as it features a variety of interesting sharks including a couple that I had never heard of before.

These are sturdy little books, so they are great for even the littlest readers! The illustrations are colorful and vibrant and will surely capture your little one's attention! I highly recommend adding this or one of the other Abrams Block Books to your home collection!

What a fun, interactive board book! It's a chunky book and I can see why. Packed full of cute & colorful illustrations, lots of peek a boo flaps and tidbits of shark information. We learned about quite a few sharks that we never knew existed. This was easy for my 1st grader to read, although she needed some help pronouncing some of the shark names. This would be a great book to gift for little hands.

6-star book

When did board books become this fun? This book has wonderful, bouncy colorful art w/fold out pages, shaped pages and lift the flap pages.
And it has two sharks i've never heard of, why hasn't anybody made a book about a Tasseled Wobblegong shark? or the Porbeagle shark? Droopy Dog as a shark

i've read two board books in the past month that are as good or better than my favorite dozen books from last year.

This book was a great way to help kids learn about sharks. And sharks are quite diverse so I was impressed this book hit on so much of that diversity.

Another adorable little book in this series. I enjoyed learning about a bunch of different sharks and peeking through the cutouts of the thick, sturdy pages like all of the rest of these books I have read so far. This one differed from CountaBlock and AlphaBlock in that it also had pages that flip up and out to add another layer of interest to it, so that was a fun surprise for us to go in looking for cutouts and have a “wait! This page folds out and whoa!!! This shark is now as big as a city bus!” Or whatever the page surprised us with. These are all such a great little series so far!

I have had to change this from a 4 star to a 5 star review. My kids CANNOT stop reading this. We originally checked it out of the library for shark week at school and they were heartbroken when we took it back and begged me to buy them a copy to love permanently.
