They may look like Bad Guys, but these wannabe heroes are doing good deeds... whether you like it or not in this New York Times bestselling illustrated series.
A MYSTERIOUS DOORWAY! (Sure, it’s in the grossest restaurant in the world, but that doesn’t make it any less mysterious. OK?) Behold! What lies beyond?! An evil centipede? An alternate universe? A few decent explanations? VRRRING! NING! NING! NING!
Hey, was that a CHAINSAW?! Let’s see if you can read and run at the same time... GO! It's the Bad Guys' next adventure!
Aaron is an Australian author of children's books and artist who until the mid-2000s was also an actor. His award winning picture books include Pearl Barley and Charlie Parsley, The Ghost of Miss Annabel Spoon and the best-selling Pig the Pug.
In the field of acting, he is probably best known for his lead roles in two television dramedies, 1994's The Damnation of Harvey McHugh, for which he won an Australian Film Institute Award, and 2003's CrashBurn, before retiring from performance in 2005.
I still like these. My son (7) & I both enjoy them but... but I personally feel like they are getting dragged out. The butt hands references are hilarious, and the bad guys are cool. But, there's just something about Wonder Fox's power that I need more explanation about. It's just so convenient. I want to know more about it. Maybe it was explained in the previous book but it's been so long since we read it. And this book thrusts you in without any kind of refresher. It would be nice to have a summary of the previous book(s) happenings to bring you up to speed like some series do.
Literally so rude to have a book start in the way this did and end the book the way this did. I'm saying this book was rude. Poor Mr. Snake, the emotional center of this series, guy think he's going to help our pals by turning them evil, but as Mr. Wolf says, he'd rather die good than live bad. My achey breaky heart. I hope both our A and B plots stay interesting, we have SO MANY new friends now it's getting almost out of hand. Buck Thunders hasn't sold me yet, he'll have to work hard to convince me he isn't one of Dread Overlord Splaarghons cronies.
Making their way into the Multiverse, the gang must make their way first through a mountain of glass shards while getting some splinters. As for their friends, they make their way to space and with help from an unexpected new ally, go to a giant butt-shaped planet. When Wolf and company finally catch up to Snake, it becomes an emotional task to save their friend while making a second multiverse trip. A (100%/Outstanding)
Was in a book rut and this is the perfect series to get back into reading. The author makes it a quick read and now being further into the series - there’s some good continuation.
Though I do think you should read these in order. Which makes it a little hard if you don’t own, and you borrow from library or friends.
In bad guys the good guys club splits into teams A&B. One of the team searches for the others and the other one searches for… well, Read and tell me what happened!
Meh. It just wasn't as fun, funny, or engaging as the others. The butt jokes are getting old (for me). All the powers, etc. are ramping up each time but there is such a gap between the books coming out and no refresher at all that I spend half the book trying to remember what is going on. There are so many characters now and that doesn't help with knowing what is happening either. Granted, I know I'm not the target demographic but still. With lots of other popular series (Dog Man, Wimpy Kid, etc.), you can get by enough when reading them out of order. This is especially important in the school library when we often don't have the "next" one a kid is looking for on the shelf right then. So they just take whichever one even if it's not next. That's going to be impossible for this series and it makes me not want to purchase more of them ( I currently only have 1-3 of this series because the rest don't have enough positive scholarly reviews for me to purchase. I can get around that by reading the books on my own to make sure they are high quality but I'm not longer sure I can vouch for these).
My review was a 1/10 it was all over the place, it didn't have a plot, and it was uninteresting to say the least.
It is a sequel from the bad guys overlord book, and the gang Is stuck in a dimension, that's full of glass shards. They try to find a way to escape, from the dimension, then comes Mr snake who in the last book was turned evil by an unknown voice. They run away, and they end up in a ship of a defector of the alien species they fought. They want to stop at the defector planet so they can vomit, because the ship only travels in loops, and that's making Fluffet sick. When they get to his planet or planet :( they are attacked and shot down. In the glass shard dimension, they are still stuck, fluffet gets stuck in a contraception where she could get cut up and killed if it was not stopped. She is saved by her friend Emmy, they try to escape but under Lord shard won't let them. Fluffet starts saying no and it is so powerful that overlord shard is gone, they try to run to the basement to escape evil Mr snake will they leave or die.
A bunch of different animals and humans that are wannabe heros end up on this weird spiky planet, and almost everything there is trying to kill them, and day and night cycle is only 30 SECONDS. all of them have there own name, and theres almost always something crazy happening on every page, where nothing there at all can be peaceful, to top the cherry on top, there are two main villians at thee end crater into a pit full of spikes: a weird noddle looking guy with powers, and a giant chainsaw beast guy, after they fight them and kill them they jump down and fall back into the real world, the end.
This book wasn't very good, and i would've gave it a one star if it wasn't for the final boss pit didn't look cool, the story is boring and unfunny, and you cant understand whats going on, especially not the lore, do not recommend this book at all.

My daughter has loved these books, but she is heartbroken by the latest installments . I feel like the author is just dragging them on as a cash grab and not because he's actually developing plot or character. At this point, we're not buying any more of them until the series is wrapped up - and only if it's wrapped up in a satisfactory way.
Reading this was purely due to my son. He likes the series and told me about the movie coming out, so I approached it with an open mind. I thought each book might be ok to just jump into, but I was lost from the start. Then I never really got an understanding of what was happening in the story. I have no idea who the Bad Guys are. I just get there were a bunch of strange people grouped together for some unknown purpose and battled sharp pointy things. My son admitted to being a bit confused himself, but in the end, he enjoyed the book, so that's what counted.
I forgot how much anxiety I used to have about shards of broken glass. It stressed me out to see the glass sticking into the dimension-traveling characters for so much of the story, and they were not affected by this to a realistic degree.
On a more general and important note, this installment goes in tons of directions without resolving anything, and it is truly just a stepping stone in the midst of a larger adventure, rather than a story arc to itself. I'm used to these books ending on cliffhangers and being "episodes," but this one feels incomplete and unsatisfying.
Some more wheel spinning. Going through various universes, the cynic in me thinks the planet with day cycling into night every few minutes is to save on artwork. The panels at night are black with some lettering. Plot is getting stretched thin with piranha becoming an oracle for no reason aside from the plot needing it. The jokes are an improvement, with a poo shop as the perfect disguise. Still off the best ones in the first books. We end the book pretty much where we started. With our heroes going through a portal and wondering where the hell they are.
This volumes starts with intensity….and very much focused on the cover! Aaron Blabey keeps it jumping. I will say that this volume had the least amount of movement in the entire series to date. The issue is virtually the issue from the beginning to the end. It was not a bad story, but it had so little movement…and that is what makes it hard to grade. Definitely could have had more expansive story, but they focused on a singular issue for virtually 90% of the story…and that is not always a bad thing. Enjoyable, but definitely not the best.
so so fun!! great read please check it out. u will enjoy it no matter your age. young or old. if you are looking for a great series, u need to check this one out ... i mean Amazon will not allow me to review, but i wish to praise this series over and over. Aaron has done an amazing job. well done my friend!! so funny. i will say that the last few are even more silly-er ... so funny!! i see it will be a movie. great read. so funny. i love all the humor.
My niece read this to me, voices and everything, so I'm counting it as an audiobook.
No star rating, because I could barely follow the story, lol. She hated pausing to show me the pictures. The only other one I've read was book 5, so this was quite a jump. Also, it's not meant for me.
VERY juvenile humor. Tons of fart jokes, poop jokes, aliens with butts for hands. Not my cup of tea.
Shards of adventure here. If anyone can get through to Snake its Wolf. Teamwork is always a must and it's good to hear (if it's true) that it might go major motion picture. A whole new way to experience our story, cool. Onward to the basement said no-one ever happily, but...I love your imagination.
I just can't get enough of Aaron Blabey! This series is on fire! Every new addition that ways "Now a Motion Picture" I want to scream at it and say.....I want that! But I know it's coming in just like 4 months now. I can wait....maybe. Anyhow, yeah this book was just as amazing as the others and my only complaint is that they're so short. :)
This book was pretty good. I thought it was really funny. When they fall down the ditch is the funniest part because Aaron Blabey used a lot of funny sound words. I also loved the "To Be Continued" at the end. The thing that was not so great about it was that they did not dive into to much detail. But this is why I think this book is pretty good.
My kid meant to buy #1 in the series at the Scholastic Book Fair but accidentally bought #13, so we had no idea what was going on or who the characters were. Animals just going through dimensions, traveling through space in a giant butt. Still, it was enjoyable. Pretty funny, great dialogue.
I hope she learned a lesson about reading a book cover carefully before purchasing.
I think this book is very funny and crazy. There are silly machines like a spaceship that is supposed to be shaped like a hand, but it is shaped like a butt, haha! The characters are funny. For example, Shark tells lots of jokes in the book. If you like to laugh, I think you should read this book because you will really enjoy it.
I read through pg. 59 in chapter 4 and it was pretty good. There are actually so many characters now that I can't keep up. To be honest, I especially love snake and piranha best. I think fans will not be disappointed. Recommended for Grades 3-5.
I thought that this was good, although I think that the author is running out of ideas sometimes he did a good job. I feel that the plot is getting crazy but I think the butt space ship was pretty funny.
Imagine this you in a different dimension where there are spikes nights that are 30 seconds and with a crazy wolf, a butt biting piranha, a shark that will literally eat anything, and a fox in a dream world. I mean, god, this book is crazy.
This episode made me feel pain, so much pain. I swear that snake better become good again or I will be so sad like genuinely I will feel pain. Already feeling much pain. But also good episode I just get emotional over little snake
