Family Ties

I enjoyed the first installment and introduction to Wells Crime Family. Character names look familiar from titkes from other authors and I liked that. It's a whole new meaning given to protect and serve when a male meets his female counterpart and there's an attraction. The Patriarchs of the family have established relationships and bonds which makes protection of the sisters of top priority.
Ended abruptly but makes me look forward to next installment.

Alright Wells Fam! What an introduction! The Wells men, as well as their extended family are all bosses and not to be f'd with! Ari, a talented prima ballerina, but independent, and stubborn in every other aspect of her life, that ultimately put her in danger. Kalmin or (Grim), the enforcer of the Wells family, lived up to his name. However, he was brought to his knees by the pint sized ballerina. The push and pull with Kalmin and Ari, was only because neither wanted to confront their feelings. When one of their own was put in danger yet again, the Jamison women were able to see the men in action that they are falling for. Looking forward to reading the stories of the remaining couples, and see how they are able to take Scar down. Good read. 👍👍👍

Great Book!!!!

This book was SO GOOD!!!!! I will start by saying that every last one them Wells Boys could get it! From the daddy on down.😁 They do not play about those they love. Which is why every last one of the Jamison girls is a goner when it comes to them. I loved that Kalmin's initial notice of Ariadne was in her element, on stage. Ari's independence was more naive than boss, but I suppose her being the youngest that's not too surprising. I really enjoyed all of the couples interactions. All that bumping heads was hilarious. I am especially interested in Aurora and Shoota. I can't wait to see how their story unfolds. I am so happy I came upon this book, it was great!!!

Good Start

It was unfortunate why G && China Doll, L && Noni, and Shoota && Rora had to come together but it seems as though they're making love connections despite having to let it be known to Reaper and Uncle Zeus. I like how G staked claim on China Doll as his wife and not just a forever girlfriend. I can't wait to see what happened with Shoota, Rora, and Mark when they were in college. I can't wait until they deal with Scar because he doesn't go by the code of no women nor children and he moves so suspect. Congratulations to the author on her first release and that this is a good series but ending on a cliffhanger. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Kalmin and Ari

I so enjoyed this book. It was an unexpected story, I was actually thinking it would be all romance but it was more Urban which I love!! When Ari’s big mistake puts her whole family in danger, she’s forced to stay with Kal.. these two bumped heads in the beginning but it was super cute because all along they wanted each other. The author did a good job with the drama and romance. The chemistry was so intense from these two.. I feel like L is my favorite brother and I cannot wait to get to his story. But for now, this was a good read and I am looking forward to the rest of the series 🙃

Good Read

First, let me say that Uncle Zeus was my favorite character! He was so funny and most times he was not trying to be funny. I laughed so many times when he was speaking, but I digress. This my first time reading a book by this author and really enjoyed it. The flow of the book seemed to change toward the middle and did cause some confusion, but I was not put off by it. I liked the story. I liked the characters and their bond. This story was about love, but it was also about protecting those you love...goon style. Good job, May R. Divine! I look forward to reading book 2.

I gave this book 3.5 🌟‘s. Is it possible to have such mixed feelings about a book but enjoy it so much at the same time? Cuz that’s what happened when reading this.

I’m sure you guys can read the synopsis above but the main character Ari finds herself in a predicament that results her and her sisters into living with three alpha male crime lords. Now, I’m not one to read gangster romances...I almost dropped this book when I found out it was one...but I stayed for the characters...more on that later.

There were a few gripes I had about this book:

I had a problem with the writing at some points. We would be in a situation and the point of view would go on this whole tangent about a whole character that the readers don’t care about. A lot of info dumping in this book.

Drama hit the fan real quick in this book...like the very first chapter lolllll. There was no build up at all.

This book had a lot of typos, grammar mistakes, and errors. Like A LOT. Like so much it was distracting. Almost every other page I found something.

This book was about Ari, who is a Black prima ballerina, and I was so excited to read it because...COVER 😍😍...and also because it follows a dancer. But y’all, there was barley any dancing in this book. You could have switched Aris love of dance to something completely different and it wouldn’t have made the slightest of difference in the book. I think there were only three instances in this book where sis was dancing and that kind of made me disappointed.

I also didn’t ship Ari and Kal because their whole relationship was freakin insta love. TWO WEEKS GUYS!! You cannot tell me that two people, with ZERO history, love each other after two whole weeks. Nope. I refuse to believe it.

Also Kal is an alpha ALPHA male. Like he would say some things that would make me annoyed and roll my eyes. Kind of like this: I meant what I said however, once my decision was made Aurora was mine whether she or Unk liked it or not.

Like no...we don’t do that here. There would be other stuff and I’m just like “calm down 🙄”. If you guys are not a fan of alpha males, you might not like this. I’m indifferent so I was able to just roll my eyes and continue on.

BUT YALL...despite all of my gripes above...
I fell HARD for these characters...except Kal lollll. I enjoyed myself because this book is funny! Like laugh out loud funny! Kal is the oldest so he’s lowkey boring BUT HIS BROTHERS 😩😩😩 Remo and Liam are so mean 😂😂😂😂! The stuff that comes out of Liams mouth would take me out!

And the girls! I absolutely love how they never backed down to get what they wanted. None of them were push overs and put the boys in their places! The tag teaming that they did throughout this book was so good!! And the banter between the guys and the girls kept me laughing 😂😂😂.

So even though I had mixed feelings about this book, I still enjoyed it and am anticipating the next two novels! Especially considering the fact that Remo and Liam will have the time for their relationship.

Good read

I love the story and the character development. I don’t usually like recaping events from different perspectives in each chapter as it takes away a from the flow for me but I was still able to enjoy this read. It gave me just enough juiciness for each potential couple to make we want to know if they will end up together. I love how close the families are and how well reared they were. To be in the upper 20’s all of the characters seemed younger in the relationship arena.

Nope

This book was so childish. I didn’t know if I was reading about little girls or women. These women were boring and nothing from them sparked my interest. I skimmed through chapters because this author kept telling the same scene just from a different character POV and I thought that was a bunch of fluff. I kept reading because the plot kept mentioning Scar but we didn’t get to meet this character not once. This was not a good introduction for me from this author. Not interested in reading the next books

My first book by this author and I loved it. I can't wait to read the rest of the series. If this is the caliber of writing she will deliver every time she has a fan in me. The story read smoothly and the dialogue was real and read like a conversation would actually sound slang and all. The characters were all well developed and hilarious in their own ways. I highly recommend this book if you love a little crime and a lot of love.

Seems like children

I felt like I was reading about little girls. I didn't understand why the mom and dad had to go on a cruise for 2 months, especially without the kids? Because nobody wanted the Reaper back? Really? So the uncle (who treats them like little kids by the way) has to take scar down by himself? The dialogue wasn't good. It felt juvenile, but i think with practice this author could write a good book, this one just now it, i wanted to like it so bad.

Meet me in the basement

Kalmin is book bae. I can't wait to read about his brother's. Its something about a series of book about brother's issue out good love. When a man can protect, love, and be your bestfriend it's amazing. This author is new to me and she showed out with this one, oh and I forgot to mention she wrote this based out of Louisiana. A woman after my own heart.

I cannot wait to see what this series has in store!

I loved the differences in each brother and sister yet how much they loved their siblings and would do whatever it takes for one another. The little goddesses are definitely a handful but Kalmin and his brothers can handle it. I'm excited to know more about the others and see where things take off from here. Especially when it comes to Shoots and Noni.

Name calling in a story

It seems as though name-calling and talking smack is a common practice in books nowadays. In this story, it was cute. The Wells crime family had a problem with a known enemy. That situation created another issue and added a little suspenseful side to the story. The pint-sized dancer strolled into the heart of her protector and gave him a lot of attitudes. The next actions in the story were predictable, yet the story was a nice Urban drama.

It’s A No For Me

This was a difficult read for me... the typos, the run on sentences... the editor needed an editor. I felt like it was based around teenage relationships. I couldn’t

So here’s the thing

I really wanted to like this book but I have to be go at the dialogue was a sore spot for me. I’ll definitely read the next book because the plot is solid and the author left so many things unfinished that I have to know how everything ends.
