Jack was told that, one day, he'd have to fight to protect what he and the others have built. That day just knocked on his door and said it was time to retire.
Men representing a real-world corporation have shown up in the game all but demanding Jack sell All Trades, Inc. for a fraction of what it's worth. Not realizing how big his operation is, Jack has to figure out who they are and what they're planning before they realize just how much he's worth and what he has to lose. Add on a quest to save an unborn dragon and an undead threat to his up and coming town, and Jack Alltrades is about to be far busier than he ever wanted to be.
If he has the time, he just might answer some of life's most important questions:
Is it really THAT hard to write a book?
Do necromancers cover closing costs when you buy their house?
Will people like Jack when he's angry?
Check out Corporate Warfare, because the questions might just get answered this time!
I'm glad the author returned to the core of the story, from what took place in book 2. It was much more engaging and aligned with the original premise of Jack's story.
I'm glad I'm once again looking forward to the next book.
First, my review: “This was a fun book. I am glad that I read it. You should try it too.”
Over the past year it has become apparent that my reviews are somewhat antagonistic and I apologize to those of you that have taken offense. I think I had hoped to change peoples’ minds about reviewing works of art and that seems to have backfired spectacularly. However, I am still going to be true to myself and write what I believe.
To the author: Thank you for this chance to escape reality and enjoy the world you created! Keep up the good work.
To my fellow reviewers: Messaging me and reviewing my reviews is as productive as trying to shovel water out of the ocean. Stop. I get it. Let’s just all live peacefully.
To potential readers: Art needs to be experienced at an individual level. You are the only one that can determine what you like and don’t like. Don’t let others make that decision for you. You should definitely read the book and completely ignore all of the reviews. You are a much better judge of what you will like than anyone here.
It's a decent continuation of the series, but needs some work.
The bad guys are barely even cardboard cutouts. It's technically LitRPG because there are numbers tossed into it, but they don't seem to actually mean anything. If a character dies at all, they lose everything (including an entire business instead of going to the second in charge?). But somehow people are fighting overly high level enemies regularly and surviving. Every battle seems about to be lost until some deus ex machina saves the day. Every time.
Apparently it's just completely possible to just power level people to OP levels every few days as they are needed.
It's not horrible, but the wheels start to fall off if you don't completely suspend disbelief about how all this would actually work.
In my opinion, this book doesn't measure up to the rest of the series. It's gotten too complicated, and the cast is so large now that most have almost no depth. Characters have become inconsistent and regularly act out of character, mostly as foils for Jack's overextended ego. I feel the heart and moral center of the series has been lost, and Jack is now becoming an executive playing fantasy surrounded by yes men. There was a number of mechanical inconsistencies, and there was no time spent on real life problems that have not gone away. I think the quality of writing overall has dropped significantly and author is just looking to quickly and the series at this point.
If Jack dies, the raiders take his business? What about a will? Like with Rowan. Make his new character or Des the beneficiary? Or even the crown? Partnerships? If the demons can simply portal in a dragon and take out the capitol, why is there even a war, or fronts. Also... I, personally, have little patience for recycled villains.
Mistakes: I found only one mistake in this book. Well edited piece of work.
Plot: Jack builds his town while expanding his business and dealing with another company and their hostile tactics as they try to take over his business.
Characters: This is a book for lovers of overpowered heroes. Levels mean nothing when Jack enters battle.
This one might just be the best book in the series thus far, and that says a lot because the previous two books were enjoyable and exceptionally engaging in their own right. I just love all the twists and turns that keeps propping up without becoming predictable and boring.
The narrative is starting to get clunky and mechanical. While there were some good scenes, there were also chapters where everything was rushed, just hitting the high points like a PowerPoint presentation. If there are boring parts, figure out how to skip them!
Still some redeeming qualities. I will get the next book when it comes out.
I’m really enjoying this series. Crazy action to start off with and slowly builds characters throughout the series. Interesting MC growth and seems to add bits and pieces of character development here and there but there’s enough action to overshadow. Keep writing and I’ll keep reading
Muy interesante y más dinámico que los libros anteriores, pero menos detallado en los personajes, malos como de caricatura que son malos porque hay que ser malos. Y un par de deux ex Machina super innecesarios y que se notó que le pusieron poco esfuerzo a la cosa.
For those of you reading this review who haven't started this series, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?. This has easily turned into my favourite LITRPG series. As the name of the series suggests the books have pieces of all the elements you want from, fights to crafting to town building and soon hopefully more.
For some reason, I dragged my feet on opening up the latest novel in the All Trades series. A few pages in, and I was kicking myself for waiting. Interesting take on the genre, humorous chapter titles and playful pokes at fellow authors, and a fun and fast paced storyline. Worth the read!
This is an awesome continuation of the series. Though I have to say... What is with that dude he is like mold you can't get rid of him. I wonder how he is going to try and mess over Jack. Also it will be awesome once he gets his new class ^_^
I really enjoyed this story and how Jack is progressing in game. Did someone say catgirls and Niks imediate attention but it looks like that will be in the next book... sigh. Anyway keep up the great work. Cant wait till the next book.
The new villains are a bit of the mustache twirling variety and cardboard cutout versions at that. Even so, the story is enjoyable as is the MC’s progress. Not the deepest story but has a lot of interesting qualities.
Was in the middle of a different 5 book series when I saw this new installment so couldn't wait and as expected It did not disappoint, look forward to the next book
A very well-thought-out continuation of the series I loved it from start to finish it wasn't awesome read for any litrpg fan that loves crafting diversity ingenuity and just plain fun a definite must-read for any litrpg fan
This story of a guy with the jack of all Class playing a game to make money was awesome. Now that he’s made it, some cooperations are trying to take it away. Great story
Shane Walker keeps the All Trades series going with book three Corporate Warfare. In this book he continues the story of Jack Alltrades and his growth and struggles. Look forward to the next book.
Jack continues to be a likeable character despite everything that happens. Definitely looking forward to the next book, can't come fast enough. Main problem with this series is everything has to stop till the latest is read.
A great book. It’s funny and has great characters that interact well. I laugh at the other reviews, master of none has nothing to do with not being able to master anything.... it’s a class. Wow great job Shane Walker.
Another satisfying episode in the All Trades story
This book brings the protagonist and his devoted companions into a new level of conflict as Jack's actions begin to ripple across the game and real world. Walker writes a compelling narrative with a resolution that satisfies
I did enjoy the book, but the series is just beginning to feel long in the tooth around the edges. Hopefully that's me and not the book. I shall definitely read the next one to find out
Marvelous story, excellent action! And the ending is a wonderful twist on the story. Revenge can be a very strong force. Please bring out book four. I've been chewing on sardines, waiting with bated breath.
A fantastic edition to the series and an expected event considering the world the series is set in. The soft reboot at the end was clever and should propel the series to new heights.
